Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 624: The First Batch of Players Under the New Myriad Connection Main Network Tree

As I continued to experiment, I became increasingly proficient in the ability of the domain to interfere with the Dream State.

At the same time, with the increase in testing times, I was also summarizing a set of applicable rules.

Perhaps this had no value to others, but it was of great significance to me.

If Dream State creatures were ”beneficial insects” that helped the Expansion Realm completely perfect the Dream State Earth Vein interface, then the power I now controlled could be considered that of a model worker.

After all, Dream State creatures only created one original point of Dream State Overlap, but with one move, I could create an entire area of Dream State Overlap, and I could also smooth it over, essentially accelerating the process.

After becoming slightly proficient in this ”Dream State Smoothing Technique,” I also smoothed over the Dream State Overlap at this Earth Vein Convergence Point.

After all, everything was for the sake of establishing a Shelter.

However, I also encountered a few things while smoothing the Dream State Overlap area, such as... the ”obstruction” of Dream State creatures.

However, their obstruction was meaningless to me.

Although I knew that Dream State creatures surely held many other secrets I had not yet understood, and the Primordial Runes I obtained from them would only be the most superficial gain, Dream State creatures were everywhere in the Expansion Realm, weren’t they?

If I had nothing else to do for a while and wanted to study Dream State creatures, I could just go to a Dream State Overlap area, or create one myself, and perhaps wait for a Dream State creature to walk right into the trap.

The other thing I encountered was... some bold individuals were approaching this area, probably to investigate the situation.

After all, a large tree suddenly appearing here was truly eye-catching.

Although the area covered by the Dream State Overlap was vast, there were a large number of temporary Shelters scattered sparsely outside the covered area.

I was ”appreciative” of those who dared to come here.

Whether they came due to courage and curiosity or because of greed or luck, it could not mask the fact that they had set foot here.

And when they set foot here, I had already made a decision: these people would be the test subjects for the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree’s fruit!

I would give them some guidance, and if they could follow this guidance to my presence, I would grant them power.

As for those who did not dare to accept the guidance and delve deeper into this area... if they gave up halfway, then they gave up halfway.

Such people were not qualified to be the first batch of players under this Myriad Connection Main Network Tree.

Before those people arrived, I also came to the tree, looking at the huge roots that had turned up from the ground and the shattered Material Space around, and I finally took action to tidy up a bit, which finally made the messy area look more pleasing to the eye.

During this period, I also kept sensing the current growth status of the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree.

Perhaps because it was planted directly on the Earth Vein Convergence Point, its size was much larger than the first one.

But even so, its size had a limit; after reaching a certain size, it stopped growing.

Instead, it transferred the privilege of growth to the roots, as the roots were the part that the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree continuously grew.

While sensing its roots, I couldn’t help but sigh.

Should I say it lived up to its name as a tree that caught a ”free ride”?

With the guidance of the Earth Vein Convergence Point, how long had it been?

The spread of its roots was quickly catching up to the first Myriad Connection Main Network Tree I cultivated.

It might even catch up in just a few days.

It should be noted that the roots of the first Myriad Connection Main Network Tree were also continuously spreading these days, which meant that its growth rate was far greater than the first one.

It would not be long before this Myriad Connection Main Network Tree would proactively establish a root network connection with the first one.

I believed that at that time, I could conduct the first case study of Main Network Tree interoperability with Big Sis Agnes, who was far away at the Calamity Shelter, through the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree.

And just as I was waiting, several figures, guided by a force, arrived at the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree simultaneously.

They poked their heads out from the energy crystal clusters that were taller than a person, vigilantly observing the surrounding environment.

“Alright, welcome to all of you who were willing to follow my guidance to come here. Why is everyone so vigilant? It’s fine, come out and meet each other.”

As my voice echoed in everyone’s ears under the domain’s order, they immediately felt their bodies uncontrollably moving forward!

Such a terrifying sight that exceeded their cognition caused many people to cry out in desperation.

It was only after they all came out that they discovered there were so many people who had arrived here!

A quick glance showed more than a dozen people!

And everyone else had expressions of resistance, just like themselves, yet they were still pushed forward by a force.

“A total of eighteen people, quite a few more than I expected.”

I said with a light smile.

At least many times more than the seven people at the Calamity Shelter.

As my words spread, everyone’s gaze turned towards me.

Seeing that they had many questions, I directly cast a Silence Spell on everyone, because now was my time to speak.

“Please, everyone, keep your mouths shut. I have some things to explain. I know you have many questions, but I promise not to harm you, unless you willingly seek trouble.”

I said in a calm tone, my gaze sweeping over everyone, as if confirming that everyone had heard.

“Very good, no dissenting voices. Presumably, everyone has listened. So, let me first introduce myself.”

I paused briefly and adjusted my collar.

“I am the Calamity Witch. I don’t know if you have heard this title. I once appeared in your civilization. If you followed the newspapers, you should have an impression of me. If not, it doesn’t matter, as it’s just a title.”

“The self-introduction is over. Now, you must be very curious as to why I guided you here and what I want to do, right?”

“First, as to the question of why, it’s because you set foot here. I can give you some basic knowledge: originally, this area was invaded by the Dream State. Those things you encountered that resembled foggy monsters are called Dream State creatures. They drag a person’s consciousness into the Dream State, and yet you had the courage to set foot here. This is the reason I value you.”

“You are very lucky; I have temporarily solved the problem of the Dream State invasion. Those annoying Dream State creatures will basically no longer appear before you.”

As I spoke, I observed their reactions, and incidentally used my Heart Sense to perceive everyone’s emotional and physical changes to deduce their changes in consciousness.

At this moment, they were probably thinking that even if they didn’t encounter those Dream State creatures, they still encountered me, right?

But it didn’t matter; I didn’t mind if they held hostility towards me.

“You are very fortunate. Do you see the tree behind me? This is the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree you are familiar with. Although it’s a pity that the original Myriad Connection Main Network Tree carrying the Plant Network can no longer provide you with services, I’ve modified it for you.”

As I said this, I reached out, and a fruit that had grown on it appeared in my hand.

“You should know that the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree does not bear fruit, but now it can. I have endowed it with a kind of power. As long as you eat it, you will also gain Transcendent power. I think some of you have seen people similar to me, right? They wield mighty power, unmatched power, power that transcends all living beings. Do you want it?”

My voice was filled with undeniable authority.

Even though it was a question, it felt as though if they said no, they would fall into an eternal abyss!

But those last few sentences were full of temptation, causing them to hesitate.

Seeing that they were slightly moved, I timely waved my hand again, and 18 fruits appeared around me.

With another wave, these fruits appeared neatly in front of everyone.

“Choose: eat it yourself, or should I feed it to you?”

As I released the restriction, everyone felt their bodies relax.

Some, due to extreme nervousness, lost the constraint of the power and collapsed onto the ground.

Everyone looked at the fruit in front of them, hesitating whether to eat it.

And right at this moment, a sound of chewing suddenly came.

A person in the front frantically held the small fruit with both hands and finished it in a few bites.

This speed stunned everyone else.

“Lady Calamity Witch! I, I recognize you! I was the first to finish eating. Can this, can this truly grant me power?”

The person who finished eating stepped forward excitedly, like an ecstatic zealot, filled with a thirst for power.

“Very good, I like that persistent look in your eyes for power.”

I said with a smile.

Although this kind of person was a typical ”slave to power,” he was not on the same level as me.

If he were my roommate, I would definitely scold him, but to me, he was just a stranger, so I would only say he was an excellent ”role model.”

“Eat this fruit, and you will gain the means to acquire power. See? Someone has already set an example. There’s no need for me to harm you like this. If I wanted you dead, why would I be so verbose?”

I glanced at everyone and said, “I only give you one minute. If you don’t eat it, I will help you eat it. After eating, if you want to leave, then go. But if you want to gain the guidance to power, stay and continue listening to me. Choose.”

After my words finished, facing such a choice, some people understood the situation clearly and chose to eat it.

Seeing more and more people start eating, many others also followed suit.

The fruit was sweet upon entering the mouth, which was a rare satisfaction for the hunger of these people who had been surviving meal-to-meal in this desolate wasteland.

Soon, one minute passed, and all 18 people had eaten the fruit in front of them.

And not a single one of the 18 people chose to leave immediately.

“Very good, it seems you are all very sensible. Then let’s proceed to the next stage. Do you remember what I just said? By eating this fruit, I grant you the means to acquire Transcendent power.”

I said with a smile.

At this moment, after they ate the fruit, it wouldn’t take long for their personal information panel to appear before their eyes.

They all saw it now, but no one had spoken up to ask.

“Before that, I want to ask one thing: have you... played games?”

As I hinted this, some people looked puzzled, while others’ spirits jolted!

“What you see before you is a game panel. This is a special way I used to evolve Transcendent power into an easily understandable form and present it to you. Please remember one thing: this is Transcendent power, not a cheat or Gold Finger like you see in novels. If you absolutely need an analogy... players, those invaders who once invaded your civilization, the power they wielded is similar to this. I also created this inspired by those players. I hope you like it.”

When I mentioned the concept of players, many of these people experienced violent emotional fluctuations.

Presumably, these people had quite the history, but I didn’t care and was too lazy to learn about it.

“Everyone knows how to play games, right? Following the guidance on your panel to cultivate is the only way for you to acquire power.”

I explained, “Your future power comes from this Myriad Connection Main Network Tree. So, the first thing you need to do after acquiring power is... to protect this Myriad Connection Main Network Tree from harm. And the second thing is my requirement for you... you need to establish a large Shelter here.”

Hearing my words, everyone was startled.

After experiencing so many things beyond their comprehension in a short time, many people’s brains needed a rest.

However, a few quick-witted ones quickly understood my intention after hearing what I said.

Granting power, establishing a Shelter... this was the intention of supporting this Calamity Witch as queen!

But... they looked at the panel before them.

Although they had not yet experienced what the so-called Transcendent power was like, something called ambition surfaced in the minds of many.

Moreover, they did not want to continue living meagerly in this chaotic world.

If someone could guide them to establish a stable and functioning social order, who wouldn’t want to follow and achieve great things?

“Now, Meditate on the spot. Follow the Newcomer Guidance mission to Meditate out Mental Power, and you can begin your class change. After the class change, you can truly wield Transcendent power.”

My voice continued to ring out.

As for whether they could accept the current situation so quickly, that was not something I needed to consider.

“I will solve the food problem during this period. As for those who have urgent matters to leave... I’m fine with whatever you choose. The choice is yours. If you want to bring your friends, family, or other people over, that’s fine too, but I suggest you return after completing your class change.”

I said.

In fact, I could have completely ignored these trivial matters, but to make them desperately fight for the construction of civilization, I naturally could not involve their relatives.

What if one of them had an elderly person, a child, or a dear sister living alone in their Shelter?

If they died, they would probably resent me.

Although I wasn’t afraid of such retaliation, it was just one word: trouble, and a waste of my time.

However... if they still had attachments, they wouldn’t have dared to risk their lives to come here, so none of the 18 people left prematurely.

Seeing them put in such effort, I was very pleased.

They were all people highly persistent in obtaining Transcendent power.

While they were all Meditating, I also started doing my own thing, as I had promised to solve their food problem, and I naturally had to keep my promise.

And the way I achieved it was... by growing vegetables.

After all, I had just raided the Seed Bank, and I collected many food items that could serve as staple foods there.

For example... Breadfruit, a plant whose inner flesh was similar to bread and whose nutritional composition was also similar to bread.

It was a kind of ”artificial plant” induced through Plant Technology.

It perfectly suited the current needs.

As for the fruit ripening, I would use the Growth Acceleration Spell.

Even if I didn’t have the corresponding Spellbook, I had the entire Witch Academy’s library; I could learn it on the spot and cast the Spell Bare-handed.
