Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 606: Witch’s Contract, ”Contractually Correct” Rhetoric

As more and more people gathered in Ninglan New City, under the spontaneous calls of many, they were all firmly doing their own things.

Of course, the initial purpose of everyone entering Ninglan New City was to help the humans outside Ninglan New City rebuild civilization.

This was explained to everyone when they entered the teleportation channel and signed the contract, but... this is not mandatory.

When people with compassion wanted to help those refugees in dire straits, they found that they couldn’t even communicate with the other party.

To persist, they would have to self-study one or even multiple languages!

Such a thing undoubtedly starts very slowly.

’Everything is hard in the beginning’ probably means this.

But who are they?

They are witches!

Even though so many people came from other Transcendent Academies, the visitor group in Ninglan was still dominated by the Witch Academy.

Not everyone was only staring at those resources in the Expansion Realm.

Entering Ninglan New City, that contract just didn’t force everyone to save those refugees and help them rebuild civilization, but it strongly encouraged everyone to help them.

And the contract also clearly stipulated one thing: no one can destroy the process of civilization reconstruction for the civilization and shelters helped to rebuild in any form.

Meaning... you can choose not to participate in this great selfless action, but you cannot become an obstructer of this action.

Otherwise, following the Witch’s Contract, you will be expelled, and at least during the period of the Witch’s Contract, you cannot return to the Expansion Realm in any way.

Just as that group of people was at a loss about helping rebuild civilization, they quickly got some breakthroughs.

They wanted to help refugees rebuild their homes, so they needed to communicate with them.

Currently, it seemed only those from the Literary Association within the city could barely communicate with them.

But... learning a language, or even multiple languages, step by step takes way too long.

Subsequently, they obtained some very important intelligence from that old Mr. Shen Tule.

”The translation of these languages is provided by Scholar Xiao Han. Heard that Scholar Xiao Han is a teaching assistant of your Witch Academy. She knows many languages of that civilization, and also knows a spell. Heard it can help you communicate with those people barrier-free.”

”Xiao Han? Is it that Big Sis Xiao Han? No way, can even hear Big Sis Xiao Han’s legend here?”

”Then Old Master Shen, can you tell us what kind of spell that is exactly? Can we learn it?”

”I’m not clear. Heard it should be a translator only you can see following you. I don’t know how to explain it either. Perhaps you can go to the City Defense Army camp to visit the highest officer of the City Defense Army, Mo Le. He is a beneficiary of this spell. Maybe you can understand the situation from him.”

Shen Tule said, ”If there’s nothing else, this old man is going to continue learning.”

”Then we won’t disturb you. Goodbye, Old Master Shen.”

”We’ll leave first.”

After inquiring about this information, the group also rushed to another place hurriedly.

For such a group of Transcendent Academy visitors who spontaneously wanted to help those refugees, Mo Le was naturally willing to take time to receive them.

After all, who doesn’t like free labor?

And Mo Le also chatted with them for a long time, from that spell called Shadow of Knowledge to language translation issues, then to the arrangement of those refugees in Ninglan New City, settlement issues outside the city, etc.

They put forward many suggestions regarding designating a settlement area outside Ninglan New City and using external disaster relief tents as the main settlement means.

But facing the thousands upon thousands of refugees gathering here, this is the headache for Ninglan New City.

So in the final analysis, it’s still a money problem.

After all, money, materials, and manpower are the main means of disaster relief.

Money, for witches, is not much.

Unless that witch studies techniques like alchemy or pharmacy, which easily lead to a student becoming poor.

But money doesn’t grow on trees for students either.

So what other ways are there to get money?

The Transcendent crystal mining areas outside the city.

The resources mined there are yours, so theoretically, making money here is not difficult.

Donations can even be carried out.

You can choose not to donate, but you cannot hinder those with the heart to rescue and rebuild civilization, expressing your determination to help those people rebuild civilization in this way.

Not everyone does it personally on the front line to complete civilization reconstruction.

Material donations are also help.

And all this only needs one reason, representing justice and the side of suffering.

This behavior is strongly encouraged even by the Witch’s Contract.

In Ninglan New City, doing anything might encounter obstruction and ridicule, but helping those people rebuild civilization won’t.

This is the ”contractually correct” rhetoric derived from the Witch’s Contract.

As long as the contract is used well, the power of language alone is enough to make too many people shut up or even yield.

Otherwise, why is this contract called ”Witch’s Contract”?

Did others not notice this matter?

They noticed it, especially those teaching assistants.

They naturally could see how to utilize this contract.

Did you really think they were purely being bandits?

Being bandits, how can it be as convenient as moving lips to get money?

If everyone were that short-sighted, then on the first day Ninglan New City opened to teaching assistants, all teaching assistants should have rushed in first, instead of just those five or six people going.

But those five or six people didn’t go to grab things at the first moment either.

The first batch of witches to contact the Transcendent energy crystal mining areas understood the difficulty and threshold of mining these crystals.

Mining areas formed by Transcendent Primordial Crystals have a very high threshold, but Transcendent material mining areas formed by World Primordial Soil don’t have such high-intensity energy radiation.

And these mining areas are treasures that can be mined on a large scale with a low threshold.

Just need to pay attention to mining techniques; no need to worry about others.

The only thing that caught them off guard was the troubles and changes encountered during this period.

What gave all teaching assistants the most headache was the dream overlap matter.

This made many people waste a lot of time learning new spells, and the variables needing attention also increased greatly...

But it doesn’t matter.

At least they feel this can let them profit, so they will continue to do so.

So... clearly just a very simple matter, yet it became so embarrassing because of profit issues.

Clearly letting everyone carry out the work of civilization reconstruction, yet because it is profitable, it turned into a game field of interests.

Thinking deeper, even the matter of rebuilding civilization can be utilized.

***

Calamity Shelter.

”If you came to me just to waste time, I think our conversation ends here. I have very important things to attend to, no time to play with you guys.”

I stood up and glanced at the few people who came this time.

The leader of this group was Winnie, that Wan Shi Wu teaching assistant I met once in Ninglan Township Fortress earlier.

”Eh! Wait, don’t you want to help these people rebuild civilization? With our help, this Calamity Shelter where you are now can definitely develop even larger. As a large-scale shelter closest to Ninglan New City, with this foundation, it can even temporarily alleviate the pressure outside Ninglan New City...”

”Winnie, you are also a teaching assistant with a Seed of Great Knowledge. Do you think your petty calculations are useful on me?”

I looked at this teaching assistant and said.

”Apologies... I think you must have misunderstood our meaning, but I also hope you can understand that there is no free lunch in this world. I think... is your desire for control over the Calamity Shelter too strong, unable to tolerate others meddling?”

”I am just doing what I need to do. What happens to the Calamity Shelter has nothing to do with me. If you want to use this foundation to build this place into a super-large shelter, I have no objection...”

”Are you afraid of losing control over the people here? Pardon my bluntness, you are like a slave owner now. Probably the only difference is that these slaves can’t help you yet, and you don’t want to exploit them.”

”Can I understand this as you probing my emotional bottom line?”

Regarding the other party’s words, I wasn’t angry.

I just purely dislike chatting with people full of bad ideas.

It’s very tiring.

But if I don’t get serious with them, they will take a yard when given an inch, smilingly starting to take advantage of others.

As soon as I flip the table, she immediately starts accusing, pretending to be weak to gain sympathy if she can’t beat me.

”Joking, how could we do such things? Just now my way of speaking was wrong. I apologize to you here. I am also thinking for the people here. Can you bear to let them live in such a place forever?”

”Suit yourself. Don’t touch my bottom line, otherwise I flip the table.”

I snorted lightly, drawing a period for this meeting.

As for my bottom line?

I didn’t explain it to them clearly, just told them not to touch the area of the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree earlier.

Mainly, if they don’t know where my bottom line is, they won’t dare to go too far.

But this is also a disadvantage.

If they are shameless enough, they will constantly create opportunities to communicate with me, and then constantly probe my bottom line.

I hope they don’t go too far, at least curb their smell a bit, but what they hope is to figure out my bottom line clearly, and then maximize benefits based on this standard.

That’s why I said I am destined not to be on the same path as them.

Once in contact with them, they will dance on my bottom line, taking a yard when given an inch.

For them, the bottom line is the scope they can ”reasonably” obtain.

Anyway, this is an irreconcilable contradiction.

The warning that should be given has been said.

It just depends on when they annoy me enough.

Yes, from the beginning, I predicted they would inevitably reach that step.

”So you agreed? Don’t worry, we are absolutely sincere. Regarding the contribution you made, we will publicize it. We definitely won’t let those people forget your contribution to them. So... please stop mentioning flipping tables.”

Winnie said with a face full of smiles.

As for flipping tables?

She is not afraid.

So what if the strength is powerful?

Here, killing each other is not allowed, let alone destroying the reconstruction of civilization.

As long as they master the pace and rhythm of civilization reconstruction, they can do a lot from within.

As long as they take over the foundation of this uniquely advantaged shelter of Teaching Assistant Yang Yuehan, they are responsible for reconstruction.

There is also a large population outside Ninglan New City, enough to support the scale of a super-large shelter.

Even later, this place may no longer use the ugly title of ”shelter”.

So what if they promote Yang Yuehan’s contribution then?

What is lifted up by them can naturally be pushed down from the altar by them.

Everything is looked at in the direction of development.

Even if that person’s bottom line is touched, can she still hack over with a saber?

Mastering the discourse power is enough, because they master ”contractual correctness.”

No one can destroy the reconstruction of civilization.

”Suit yourself.”

I turned to leave, but was stopped by her words again.

”By the way, since this exchange was a complete success, wonder if we can know what you are doing?”

Winnie’s tone and posture also suddenly became very low.

They are indeed very concerned about what the other party is doing, but they dare not mix in, because the thing the other party is researching has the participation of Transcendent Mentors!

One sentence from a mentor can make them scramble.

Although they occupied the initiative in the conversation just now, in her view, what the other party is doing must be very important, and has the endorsement of Transcendent Mentors, so the other party is so fearless.

This is a point they have to pay attention to.

For them, they feel they can step on Little Han’s bottom line, but absolutely cannot step on the mentor’s bottom line!

”None of your business. You better go care about how to reconstruct this shelter, and then welcome those people’s gratitude to you.”

After I finished saying these, I got up directly to see guests off.

And after sending this group of people away, seven figures gathered around me.

They were the ones seeing guests off just now.

These seven people are the managers elected by the current Calamity Shelter, considered the current spiritual leaders, leaders leading everyone to survive.

And these seven people... are the seven I encountered first back then, six men and one woman, the ones who initially had strong execution ability and sense of responsibility.

Of course, mainly because they know me is the most important.

After all, I am the actual founder of the Calamity Shelter and master absolute power.

”Lady Witch, that group of people just now...”

At this moment, someone also asked carefully.

I conversed with the other party in a language they didn’t understand just now, so they didn’t know what exactly was discussed.

”Helping you build the shelter. In the future when their people come, you take full responsibility for interfacing with them. If you don’t understand things in this regard, find people good at negotiation in this area. Don’t be eaten clean by those guys.”

I said.

”Re! Really? They are willing to help us build the shelter?”

”Sigh... don’t be excited. Who knows if they harbor any good intentions.”

Soon, the person beside the one who spoke first dissuaded him.

He understands observing expressions.

”They plan to build this place into a super-large shelter. At that time, this place will also accept more people.”

I continued to speak, ”Their task is to help you rebuild civilization. Whether sincere or not is not important; they will really do so. That’s why I said be careful not to be eaten clean by them. There is no free lunch in the world.”

”We know, we will definitely pay attention!”

”Anyone can say pretty words. Civilization reconstruction, presumably your society will be reshuffled. Standing on the cusp of the storm at this moment, you should also have your own ambitions, right?”

”Dare not dare not...”

”We don’t... absolutely don’t...”

Hearing my words, the few of them denied hurriedly, while more chose to remain silent directly.

”Having ambition is a good thing. I will also help you like those people, but not in their way.”

I spoke to appease them.

It is inevitable that they will have ambitions.

I never care about these, so I continued to speak, guiding them to willingly do the things I want them to do.

”Want to obtain power? If you have the determination to bear the price, I can help you master extraordinary power.”
