Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1287: Chapter 1287: Meticulous Care Chapter 1287: Chapter 1287: Meticulous Care The private room at Harvestville needed to be reserved in advance, something that just wasn’t possible for a last-minute request like Lyle Westbrook’s.

But his status was different, and the Manager made special arrangements for him.

Lyle Westbrook led the person into the private room, had them sit down, and then instructed the waitress, “Bring some hot water, a cup of yogurt, and some hot porridge, plain rice porridge, with a little sugar in it.”

His instructions were careful and thoughtful, and the waitress looked enviously at Enna Clark with her flushed face, obediently agreed, and left.

Before leaving, she also helped close the door.

Enna Clark was just feeling dizzy from the alcohol, not yet unconscious. She realized she had run into Lyle Westbrook and even vomited on someone. After the initial dizziness, she suppressed the discomfort in her stomach and awkwardly apologized, “I’m sorry… That wasn’t intentional earlier.”

Lyle Westbrook knew she was apologizing for vomiting on him and didn’t mind at all, “It’s nothing, I know you didn’t mean it.”

“But, why did you drink so much? And alone?”

Why would Baron Lawrence let her out on her own?

It wasn’t like him at all.

And besides, even for business, shouldn’t Baron Lawrence be with her in the evening? Could he really be that confident in leaving Enna alone to dine out?

He took a deep breath to suppress the anger welling up in his chest.

Enna Clark had no idea how to explain to him, she couldn’t possibly tell him that she had to drink a glass of white liquor due to difficulties with her new job at the Lawrence Family.

That would have revealed Baron Lawrence’s condition.

But her mind was really foggy and her stomach uncomfortable, so she couldn’t quickly think of a reasonable lie and simply said, “It was because of… some work-related reasons.”

Lyle Westbrook frowned slightly, sensing that she was being evasive, but considerately didn’t press her for more details.

Just then,

the waitress came back in.

She brought the hot milk, warm water, hot porridge, and hangover remedy that Lyle Westbrook had ordered, “Here are the items you requested.”

“Thank you,” Lyle Westbrook said with a polite distance.

However, the waitress responded as if flattered, “It’s what we should do. No trouble at all, no trouble at all.”

After speaking, she quickly said, “I’ll leave now. If you need anything, sir, just call for me.”

“Alright.”

The waitress left.

Lyle Westbrook stood up, walked over to the table, and pushed the hot porridge in front of Enna Clark, “I know your stomach is uncomfortable. Try to eat something first before you drink water. If you drink plain water right away, you’ll feel more nauseous. Let me check their hangover remedy.”

Considering Enna Clark probably hadn’t eaten much at the table, she needed to eat something to fill her stomach before taking the medicine, otherwise, it would be too harsh on her stomach.

As he spoke, Lyle Westbrook picked up the hangover remedy on the table to examine it.

He examined it closely, even taking out the instruction leaflet from the box, reading it word by word, not as if he was looking at a medicine label but as if scrutinizing a contract, serious and meticulous.

Enna Clark’s stomach indeed felt terrible, and she knew she needed to eat something to settle it, otherwise she might feel like vomiting again. Without being pretentious, she thanked Lyle Westbrook, picked up the spoon, and started eating.

Forcing herself to eat after drinking too much was an awful experience. Even though Lyle Westbrook had specifically asked for sugar to be added to the plain rice porridge, Enna Clark still nearly retched several times while eating.
