Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1281: Chapter 1281: Just in time for the new colleague to join us Chapter 1281: Chapter 1281: Just in time for the new colleague to join us Enna Clark had already left, so she didn’t know that Baron Lawrence came out soon after, and even looked in the direction she had left.

After she went downstairs, a large stack of work piled up in front of her.

Since her job at the Lawrence Family was personally arranged by Old Master Lawrence, although she joined the company only for Baron, now that she was in, she had no plan to ask for special treatment. As operations and planning had always been her weaknesses, Enna Clark, with a learning spirit, seriously completed every task.

By the time she finished all her work, the sun had already set outside.

She stretched her arms, printed out the organized project list, and while the printer was printing, she picked up her cup and walked to the pantry.

Busy all day long, she didn’t even have time to drink water, so she had to have some coffee during this rare break to refresh herself.

As it was near the end of the workday, quite a few people were in the pantry.

As a newcomer and fairly new, she didn’t know anyone, so Enna Clark quietly took her cup, planning to get her coffee and return to her desk to finish the remaining binding work and then go home to spend time with her Bobby.

Unexpectedly, at this time, Kingston Howard entered the pantry.

Compared to Enna Clark, Kingston Howard was obviously much more popular.

As soon as he came in, several women greeted him, “Boss, all done with work?”

“Boss, we did so well this quarter, aren’t you going to treat us to a dinner to celebrate?”

Someone took the lead.

The others quickly echoed, “Yeah, Boss should treat us to a meal.”

“I agree too, everyone has been working overtime and we finished the tasks ahead of time, Boss must treat us. Don’t you agree?”

“Is Boss really treating us to a meal? That’s great, let me think about what I want to eat today, it has to be something expensive. The Director earns so much, it would look down on our Boss if we ate something cheap, right?”

Kingston Howard was serious and diligent in his work, but easy to get along with in private. People in the Planning Department knew his character, which was why they dared to gather around and make such a racket. But they were purely teasing, taking advantage of the crowd to get closer to the superior, not really expecting Kingston Howard to treat them to a meal.

In the crowd, Kingston Howard glanced surreptitiously in Enna Clark’s direction, and seeing that she was completely indifferent to the lively scene here and minding her own business while getting coffee, his eyes brightened somewhat, and suddenly he said with a smile, “Alright, I’ll treat you all tonight!”

The crowd was only teasing and didn’t expect him to agree so readily, so they all showed a look of surprise. Especially the female colleagues, their faces flushed with excitement, and their eyes were sparkling. Their looks were not at all like Kingston Howard was about to treat them to a meal—it looked more like he was going to a matchmaking event.

“Is the Director really treating us tonight?” a girl asked boldly.

Kingston Howard smiled mildly, his sunny face was handsome and carefree, and he said, “Isn’t it just the right time, with a new colleague joining us today? Let’s all gather for a meal tonight, consider it a welcome party for the newcomer.”

After he finished speaking, he even glanced in Enna Clark’s direction.

His look caused everyone else to turn their gaze towards Enna Clark. All of a sudden, all the eyes in the pantry were on her—

Enna Clark had only come to get a cup of coffee, and although she heard them egging Kingston Howard on to treat the office, she was just listening—it never occurred to her that the topic would turn to her. Suddenly finding the topic on her and being looked at by so many scrutinizing eyes, she was taken aback.
