Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1254: Chapter 1254: There are over a dozen missed calls on the phone Chapter 1254: Chapter 1254: There are over a dozen missed calls on the phone As soon as the doctor had prescribed the medicine, the nurse quickly pushed Enna Clark to the nearby VIP Hospital Room.

After arranging the hospital room, the Nurse busied herself for a while, hanging up the infusion for her, and then collected the tray used for setting up the needle and said, “Ms. Clark, I’ll rub the blood stasis on your leg, please bear with it.”

“Okay.”

As the nurse spoke, she reached out her hand and gave her a preventive injection, “It might hurt a bit, I’ll try to make it quick.”

“Okay.”

The nurse’s hand pressed on the bruised part of her left leg, and Enna Clark had braced herself for the pain, but it hurt more than she expected. She clenched her teeth to keep from crying out, but the broken hair on her forehead was completely soaked with sweat.

By the time the nurse finished massaging, she looked as if she had been fished out of water.

“There, that should do it. I’ll do it again for Ms. Clark tomorrow. A couple more sessions and the blood stasis should dissipate,” the nurse said as she pulled up the blanket for her, “Ms. Clark, you rest for a while. When the liquid in the infusion bottle is gone, call me, and I’ll change it for you.”

“Thank you.”

“You’re too polite.”

Knowing she was probably in both pain and exhaustion, the nurse did not disturb her further and turned to close the door of the hospital room.

Not long after the nurse left, Scott Harris arrived. He opened the door, delivering the items Enna Clark had asked him to bring. Seeing her pale face, he couldn’t help but show concern, “Miss, you haven’t had dinner yet, have you? I’ll go prepare some hot porridge.”

Enna Clark had relaxed a bit upon receiving her phone, “Okay, thank you.”

Scott Harris came quickly and left just as quickly.

Enna Clark held her phone and switched it on.

After a minute, the phone finally turned on.

The first thing that caught her eye was the dozen missed calls, all from the same number—a maniac.

They were from Baron Lawrence!

Her heart skipped a beat.

A sense of tingling guilt spread over her.

A dozen missed calls… she didn’t dare to imagine how irritable the man must have been while calling. The key was that all the calls showed that her phone was turned off…

Besides the calls, there were a few text messages.

They were also from Baron Lawrence.

Enna Clark opened the text messages.

—Where are you?

—Enna Clark, turn on your phone right now, do you hear me!

—Damn it, what are you doing! Why is your phone off, why aren’t you answering calls?

The more she read, the faster the frown on her forehead formed.

She had turned off her phone, how could she see his concerns. What kind of logic was he using, sending text messages asking her to turn her phone on when he couldn’t get through—did he think she had blacklisted his number?

However, judging by the fact that Baron Lawrence had sent so many texts and made so many missed calls, she knew responding back would be a disaster…

But not responding would be an even bigger disaster!

Enna Clark swallowed hard and, mustering her courage, dialed back the missed calls.

How was she going to explain to Baron Lawrence?

The best way to explain would be to say nice things, presumably.

The thought of having to utter a stream of sweet nothings to appease someone’s anger gave Enna Clark a headache. Sweet talk was not her forte; it was one thing to say it naturally, but quite another to force herself to do so…

After the initial crackling of the electrical current on the phone had passed.

The phone began to ring with a tone.

After ringing seven or eight times, Enna Clark’s heart followed suit, leaping seven or eight times, when suddenly there was a clicking sound on the other end.

Thinking that Baron Lawrence had picked up the phone, she raised her lips, barely uttering a word, “Bar…”
