Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1265: Chapter 1265: Old Master Lawrence Wants to See Her Chapter 1265: Chapter 1265: Old Master Lawrence Wants to See Her Half an hour later.

The car entered the mansion of the Lawrence Family, which resembled a castle in its grandeur.

As soon as the car came to a stop, the housekeeper was the first to get out, helping her open the door, “Ms. Clark, please.”

“Thank you.” She was polite and appreciative that someone of his advanced age was still opening the car door for her.

The look in the housekeeper’s eyes softened a bit more, he said softly, “Ms. Clark, no need to be polite, this is what I should do. The Old Lord is inside waiting for you, please follow me.”

It had been many days since Enna had been back, and upon re-entering after some time, she couldn’t help but be astonished by the extravagant level of the Lawrence Family’s large mansion.

When the housekeeper guided her to the reception room.

Enna spotted Old Master Lawrence at first glance, wrapped in a coat, tending to the potted plants. Although his complexion seemed haggard, his presence was too imposing for people to usually notice his pallor.

Yet, Enna noticed the dark circles under his eyes and called out to him, “Grandpa.”

“Have you arrived?” Old Master Lawrence set aside the pruning shears, looking no different than usual, his vigorous eyes as strong and piercing as ever, “Sit down.”

Enna sat on the sofa.

A servant quickly approached to ask, “Ms. Clark, would you like coffee or tea?”

Enna glanced at Old Master Lawrence and said, “Two cups of hot milk, please.”

The servant wasn’t sure she had heard correctly, “Ms. Clark, you want two cups of hot milk?”

Drinking milk was one thing, but two cups? Was she sure she hadn’t misheard?

This was the first time she was preparing hot milk in the reception room.

“Yes, that’s right, two cups. One of them without sugar.” Enna’s demeanor remained composed and casual, as if she saw nothing peculiar about her request.

Only Old Master Lawrence furrowed his brows for a moment, giving her a look.

The servant turned to make the preparations.

In the Lawrence household, people worked very efficiently, including the servants, whose speed could be startling. Soon enough, two steaming cups of hot milk were served, “Ms. Clark, the one on the left has sugar, the one on the right does not. To help you tell them apart, I’ve used two different colors for the cups. If you forget, you can always call me.”

“Thank you for the trouble.”

The servant didn’t dare to respond to her words and quietly retreated to the side.

Enna took the unsweetened hot milk in the red mug and naturally pushed it toward Old Master Lawrence, “Grandpa, milk helps with sleep.”

In his lifetime, Old Master Lawrence had tried many things, but no one had ever offered him hot milk before.

The repressed might in his eyes narrowed slightly, and his hands rested on the head of his dragon cane, neither accepting nor refusing. It was unclear what he was thinking.

After a while, he frowned and said, “I do not have diabetes.”

“…” I don’t have diabetes? What does that mean? Was it what she thought he meant? Enna was somewhat uncertain, but still silently took the unsweetened cup of hot milk back and passed him the sugared one, placing it in front of him, “I wasn’t aware of that, I just heard from the doctor that older people should avoid high-sugar food. This cup is sweetened, and indeed, sweetened hot milk tastes somewhat better than unsweetened.”

Old Master Lawrence cast another glance at her, then suddenly looked up and ordered the servant nearby, “Bring some sugar cubes!”

“Yes, Old Lord.”
