Chapter 405: Chapter 405: Professor Zickrein Being Followed

You must be out of your mind!

The other girls all gave her scornful looks after hearing her say that. Penelope couldn’t help but mock, ”I think you should ask Lockhart to be your bodyguard. He might say yes!”

”Oh, heavens!” The girl, who was also in Ravenclaw, turned pale and said dramatically, ”If that were the case, I’d rather just find a boyfriend!”

”Ha ha ha! You should have thought of that sooner, Nancy!”

The other girls laughed loudly, and the atmosphere of their conversation became very lively.

Unlike the blind praise for Lockhart at the beginning of the school year, most young witches and wizards now saw the true face of the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.

Almost everyone had noticed that he seemed flashy, but he didn’t have any real skills. His own Defense Against the Dark Arts class was full of unbelievable disasters.

As a Hogwarts professor, he couldn’t even deal with a few small goblins?

Not only that, but someone even revealed that when Lockhart was treating ”The-Boy-Who-Lived,” he directly used magic to remove his leg bones, causing the poor savior to lie on the lawn and scream in agony for a long time.

Of course, many of Lockhart’s true fans denied this. After all, it sounded like a complete lie!

Their rebuttal was also well-founded.

Any adult wizard, no matter how foolish, could not possibly do such a thing! What’s more, Professor Lockhart was personally appointed by Dumbledore to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts! Even if you don’t like Lockhart, you can’t just deny Dumbledore, can you?

”Heh, don’t think I don’t know what you guys are planning!” Nancy looked at her friends with some annoyance and said sarcastically, ”You want to exclude me so you can pursue Professor Zickrein, right? No way! Especially you, Penelope, don’t think I don’t know you’ve been flirting with Percy from Gryffindor!”

”No, we’re just friends!” Penelope quickly explained as her friends’ eyes focused on her, ”Don’t listen to her nonsense, she’s just trying to change the subject.”

”Say what you want, I clearly saw you two being lovey-dovey by the Black Lake that night...”

Geralt stopped listening to the girls’ dating gossip and walked towards his dormitory. He suddenly stopped at the corner of the building and turned his head. ”Is there something you need, Miss Ginny, Miss Luna?”

Behind the wall to his right, two small heads, one red and one blonde, slowly appeared.

Oh, no! We’ve been caught!

Ginny Weasley looked flustered and horrified. She now regretted participating in the tracking operation that Luna had suggested.

What if Professor Zickrein gets angry?

Thinking this, Ginny stammered, ”Professor Zickrein, we’re not really...”

Before she could finish, Luna blurted it all out. ”As I thought, you already realized we were following you.”

”Luna?!” Ginny was instantly stunned and looked blankly at她的朋友.

”Yes, I noticed it behind the classroom building.” Zickrein nodded slightly and said, ”I was curious about your actions, so I didn’t expose you. Would you like to come to my room to talk?”

”Uh, maybe not?” Ginny swallowed hard and shook her head gently.

But Luna readily agreed, ”Sure, I haven’t seen the professor’s room yet.” She lifted her foot and followed Geralt to his room.

Crazy, crazy, this Luna is really crazy!

Ginny looked at her retreating figure in disbelief. Why was she so casual? After thinking for a moment, she finally gritted her teeth and followed.

Although Geralt enjoyed professor status at Hogwarts, his dormitory was not luxurious.

The furnishings were very simple: a bed, a bookshelf, a desk, chairs, and several stone slabs engraved with magic patterns. These stone slabs also served as lamps, illuminating the entire room with a bright glow.

”This is Professor Zickrein’s dormitory. What are those?” Ginny’s gaze was fixed on the magic-patterned stone slabs, which were very rare even for a pure-blood witch like her.

”They are said to be prophecy stone slabs from Arques, but the magic patterns on them have failed.” Geralt explained calmly, ”Now they have no value other than being used for lighting.”

”Who is Arques?” Ginny blinked, looking puzzled.

”The golden hero in Angolan magical mythology, said to have hunted dragons that came from hell.” Luna’s eyes were also on the stone slabs, her voice very light. ”But in reality, according to modern magic research, those dragons were just ordinary Welsh Green Dragons.”

”So, Miss Luna, you’re also interested in archaeology?” Geralt asked with a smile.

If Geralt really wanted to pick a student at Hogwarts to carry on his legacy, it wouldn’t be Hermione or Harry Potter, but Luna Lovegood.

Because only this girl possessed a true spiritual connection to magic.

This kind of spiritual connection is not a talent, nor can it be obtained through diligence. It is innate, stemming from the qualities of a person’s soul. Having this spiritual connection is like opening the door to the mysteries of magic.

Of course.

Luna in the original story didn’t achieve much. At best, she was a supporting character. This wasn’t because she lacked magical talent but because the education she received was Hogwarts’ systematic magic teaching, which stifled her spiritual connection.

What Luna really needed wasn’t a well-rounded approach but rather a focus on one area. She should discover a magic system that resonated with her and delve deeply into it.

That way, her future achievements might not surpass Dumbledore’s, but her magical strength would definitely be on par with or even exceed his.

However, this kind of cultivation method clearly didn’t align with Hogwarts’ teaching philosophy, and Geralt had no intention of taking on a student either.
