Chapter 72 - 72: Machete Konan?

”This should be good enough.”

After setting up a barrier to block surveillance, the mysterious man finally took off his hood, revealing his true face.

He looked very old, with a thin goat beard. His skin was pale, and he had two sharp horns on his forehead. A faint red crack could be seen in the middle of his brows.

But the most striking feature was his light purple eyes.

”Another pair of Rinnegan?” Oonoki gasped.

Uchiha Madara was also staring hard at the man, his face full of disbelief. ”You... could it be...”

”My name is Otsutsuki Hagoromo,” the old man said slowly.

”So you really came,” Jiraiya walked over to him, speaking in a very familiar tone. ”How’s Orochimaru doing?”

Clearly, Jiraiya had known this old man for a long time. In fact, all the information he had gotten about Aizen had come from this man.

”He’s about to fully master the power of Hollowfication,” Otsutsuki Hagoromo nodded. ”He’s a very talented kid.”

”So you really are the Sage of Six Paths...” Even facing his own ancestor, Uchiha Madara showed no respect. ”I can’t believe you’re still alive!”

The Sage of Six Paths?

Everyone, still a bit dazed, widened their eyes in shock, staring at the old man.

In the whole ninja world, probably no one hadn’t heard of the legend of the Sage of Six Paths—the father of chakra, who brought an end to chaos and started the era of ninjas.

To ninjas, the Sage of Six Paths was like a hero from a myth. But no one expected that this legendary figure would actually be alive today.

”I’m not exactly alive,” Otsutsuki Hagoromo shook his head, not bothered at all by Uchiha Madara’s attitude. ”My current state is pretty much the same as yours—I’m the reincarnation of Indra.”

”Reincarnation of Indra?” Uchiha Madara frowned, confused.

”Don’t rush. The story I’m about to tell is very long,” Otsutsuki Hagoromo found a spot and sat down. ”Luckily, we have plenty of time.”

As the Sage of Six Paths slowly began to tell the story of the chaos in the ninja world, the chat group discussions also exploded with excitement.

Curly-haired Guy: The Sage of Six Paths? That guy is really the Sage of Six Paths? Man, that’s crazy!

Doujin Artist: I think it’s unbelievable too, but it also kind of makes sense. Even in the original Naruto, you could tell the Sage of Six Paths was probably always watching the ninja world.

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: Plus, Young Anzen put his base right in the Pure Land, which is basically like digging a giant hole in the Sage’s backyard. It would be weird if he didn’t care.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: But wasn’t he always just in a chakra form? How does he have a physical body now? Is this like a fake body or something?

Amegakure Village’s Angel: Anzen-san?

This is an Actor: Ah, yeah, you could say I taught him.

Of course, Aizen didn’t just teach Otsutsuki Hagoromo how to make fake bodies. He also taught him how to use spiritual power, pass on Shinigami powers, and create Arrancars.

Back then, Aizen had to demonstrate everything to Otsutsuki Hagoromo again and again, while pretending not to notice that Hagoromo was secretly watching him.

It was honestly exhausting. It tested both his acting skills and his patience to the limit.

Luckily, Aizen pulled it off perfectly.

Doujin Artist: So it was you who taught him!

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Raising your own enemy... that’s really something Anzen would do.

Shark-Faced_Guy: Rikudou Sennin isn’t someone you can take lightly. Aren’t you worried about things going wrong, Aizen-san? Remember in the Bleach world, Aizen trained Ichigo too much and it backfired on him, right?

This is an Actor: I thought after seeing my memories, you’d know I’m not the same as that Aizen. I didn’t expect you to still have such a shallow view, Kisame.

Amegakure Village’s Angel: The Aizen from Bleach raised Ichigo because he was too lonely and wanted someone strong enough to stand beside him. But Anzen isn’t like that. He has me... us.

Doujin Artist: Konan, you added that ”us” part afterward, didn’t you? Don’t deny it, I can see right through you!

Amegakure Village’s Angel: That’s why Anzen could never fail like Aizen did.

Curly-haired Guy: She totally changed the subject! And she did it so awkwardly too! That’s just like you, Konan!

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: The biggest difference between Anzen and Aizen is that Anzen genuinely cares about his friends. Aizen’s kindness was all fake.

Doujin Artist: True. Anzen is even a bit *too* kind sometimes... he even cooks for us!

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: You sound kinda bitter. Are you jealous?

Doujin Artist: Who’s jealous?! Why would I be jealous? Mo Chou, what are you even talking about?!

Curly-haired Guy: Exactly! Our A-Li would never fall for someone like Aizen. She likes strong, muscular guys! You know, muscleheads.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Musclehead...?

Doujin Artist: You’re the one who likes muscleheads, you damn perv!

Amegakure Village’s Angel: If it’s Yinglili, I wouldn’t mind.

Curly-haired Guy: I get it, I get it. You say you don’t mind, but you’re probably already sharpening your blade, right? Or maybe even treating your Zanpakuto like a kitchen knife? If that’s the case, Yinglili might really be in danger... that shiny golden head of hers won’t last!

Doujin Artist: Shut up! You’re the damn dog head here! And what the heck is ”shiny golden” supposed to mean? Why does it sound so disgusting when you say it?

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Honestly, I feel the same.

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: It makes you think of... fertilizer?

Doujin Artist: Please, I’m begging you guys, stop! I can’t get that image out of my head now! Ugh!
