THE GOD EATER

While he was thinking, he saw two twin brothers who were hugging each other after both had awakened with excellent talents. This sight reminded him of his days with his other brothers.

So he sighed and thought, ’I wonder where they are and how they are doing right now. I hope they are doing well.’

Golden Sun is definitely not doing well. After all, Loki has killed Slav. But he can rest assured because Loki is being hunted and should be killed soon.

Everyone was sure that Loki would die soon. They were even saying so as they encircled him. The most vocal person about this was Forced Exchange.

Forced Exchange sneered and said, ”The fact that Star Divination found the dragon means that it is weak. So we need to find it first and be the one to kill it.”

He was together with one other money cultivator from the Thorn House of Commerce. These two are the only ones in their alliance currently available. The others are busy elsewhere.

There are more money cultivators from their alliance coming to reinforce them. But for now, there are only two of them.

However, there are many other cultivators hunting the dragon. The large number of competitors made Forced Exchange anxious. So he suggested to his partner that they rush ahead to get to the dragon first.

He made a good point for why they should try to be the first to catch up to the dragon. However, his partner, Money Speed, wasn’t going to be so easy to fool.

Money Speed sneered as she asked, saying, ”And how do you suggest we reach the dragon first?”

Forced Exchange replied with a smile, ”If you use your Divine Metac, I am sure that our chances of reaching the dragon first will be higher.”

But Money Speed shook her head and said, ”We only have a general location of the dragon. We don’t have real-time updates, so even if I speed up, I might just run in the wrong direction and miss him.”

What Money Speed said made sense, but Forced Exchange didn’t want to accept it. He complained, saying, ”We are as slow as snails right now. With this kind of speed, the chances of us getting to the dragon first are less than 1%. If we lose the dragon, we would have lost an entire city for nothing.”

But Money Speed refused to budge. She insisted, saying, ”Until you negotiate real-time updates from Star Divination, I am not wasting my divine merit points running around blind.”

In dissatisfaction, Forced Exchange snorted and said, ”I am working on it. It is just that Star Divination is so greedy.”

”She is not even here risking her life with us, yet she wants half of the value of the dragon. And that’s just the final payout in case we get the dragon. She still wants 10,000 years’ worth of world essence before she can get to work for us.”

”What I hate the most is that she is selling the same information to different groups, yet she wants a high price for it. And she wants me to make a contract not to share the information I buy with my own money with others.”

He snarled in anger as he said, ”At this rate, she is poised to be the biggest winner in this hunt. Her greed is truly sickening. It is a kind of greed that only a money cultivator should have. It is unbecoming of a seer.”

As he spoke, he used the divine constellation to communicate with Star Divination. The two of them have been negotiating for her tracking services for quite a while.

He is also updating the rest of the alliance on the progress of the hunt. So he is actually chatting with three different parties, including Money Speed, at the same time.

After the Forced Exchange was done speaking, Money Speed responded by saying, ”You did say that there is nothing to worry about in terms of danger. And you said that what we should worry about is finding the dragon first, so the bulk of this hunt is tracking the dragon, which would explain why she is demanding so much.”

In response, Forced Exchange grunted before saying, ”I know. I know that her services are invaluable. And if she were selling the information to only us, I would be highly appreciative of her work.”

”But she is selling the information to others, which inherently reduces the value of the information and will further reduce our chances of getting the dragon. Because of what she is doing, I have to buy the information just to maintain our low chances of reaching the dragon first.”

”The information won’t be able to give us an edge above everyone else because everyone will pay for her services and buy the information. At the very least, I am sure that the warriors and giants will purchase the information from her. So how can I feel good about it?”

His words made Money Speed sigh in defeat and say, ”At this rate, we will only be able to get the dragon if it runs into us. The second heaven is just too big.”

If they were in the first dimension, they wouldn’t have any problem searching an area of this size because they would have their Cave Heaven to empower them. With more power, they will be able to cover more distance quickly.

Access to their Cave Heaven will also grant them a wide range of perception. With this wide range of perception and their fast speed, they will be able to easily comb through an area of 60 billion square kilometers like this second heaven.

In fact, they might not even need to search around slowly like this. If the dragon had been in the first dimension, they could use the divine constellation to immediately pinpoint the location of the dragon.

Unfortunately, they are in the second heaven without the coverage of the divine constellation. So the only person who can pinpoint the dragon is Star Divination.
