THE GOD EATER

This sect elder’s meeting was being held in every sect in the Blessed Heaven World, but none of the rank 8 cultivators took it seriously. Some of them were even annoyed by the announcement of war.

No rank 8 cultivator had anything to look forward to in the war. Even the fact that they would put on a show and pretend to fight annoyed many of them because even pretending would cost them some of their lifespan to execute.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, there was also the fact that the sect hadn’t removed the life leech. So the divine beings still had to pay the sect rent while they risked their lives fighting for the sect.

This situation made Monarch Dragon Strength grumble inwardly, saying, ’This is just too much. At what point does the sect start taking us as valuable commodities?’

’Even slaves get a reprieve from their labor and a pat on the back made of false promises to motivate them to sacrifice their lives for their masters. Are we worse than slaves that the sect won’t try to encourage us at all? Or does the sect think we are just foolish and will sacrifice ourselves as soon as we are told to do so?’

Then he smiled as he thought, ’They don’t need to give me anything. All they have to do is allow me to have five Divine Positions. I will even pay extra for it.’

If he were given permission to have five Divine Positions, he would lie low for a while as he makes preparations. Then, when the time is right, such as when the war enters a hectic period, he will take advantage of the chaos going on around him to break through.

He has reached the Quasi-Supreme Grandmaster level of mastery of the pathway, so he knows that the smallest amount of Divine Positions needed to create a Supreme Metac is five Divine Positions.

He also knows that the optimum number of Divine Positions needed to create a Supreme Metac is eight. So, he knows that five Divine Positions are cutting things too close. Even the fact that the Divine Positions of the pathways are faulty hasn’t escaped his knowledge.

Despite his awareness of all of these limitations and shortcomings, he still wants to give it a shot. This is because he has become desperate enough to try anything to advance.

However, one thing he is not desperate enough to do is fight to the death for his sect. In fact, he wants to do the opposite and watch on the side as his sect is destroyed. Because only in this way will he have the chance to break free from his limitations and advance to rank 9.

So, saying that he was annoyed by this war would be a terrible underestimation of what he was feeling. Loki was also annoyed, but his annoyance couldn’t be compared to anything that the other rank 8 cultivators were feeling.

He wasn’t as annoyed or frustrated as they were because he had something they didn’t have. He had the choice not to participate in this war.

He was in the core of Shadow Clone’s Cave Heaven when he received the notification to attend the sect elder’s mission.

The message said, ”A serious matter that needs the hands-on participation of every elder of the sect has appeared. You are to report for the elder’s meeting to participate in this matter.”

”It has been determined that you’re already close to the Blessed Heaven World, so you have a day to finish up whatever you’re doing and make your way to the first heaven of the Blessed Heaven World for the meeting. If you do not make yourself available for this meeting, you will be fined 100 divine merit points for every hour that you miss.”

When he saw this, he sneered and thought to himself, ’You can kiss your meeting goodbye. I will be done with what I’m doing in 24 hours, but I still won’t come.’

The size of Shadow Clone’s Cave Heaven was 2,516 million square kilometers. He could assimilate the Cave Heaven from one side to another, which means he only needed to assimilate the length of the Cave Heaven.

Since the length of the Cave Heaven was 50,160 kilometers, and he could assimilate the Cave Heaven at a rate of 1 kilometer per second, it would take him 836 minutes, or 13 hours and 56 minutes to assimilate the Cave Heaven.

However, he could only assimilate 800 million square kilometers more in order not to breach the limit of the size of the Cave Heaven that the sect had imposed on them. So he wouldn’t need the full 836 minutes.

Since he needed to assimilate just 800 million square kilometers out of the 2,516 million square kilometers, he would only need to cover 15,949 kilometers out of the 50,160 length of the Cave Heaven to reach his limit.

This made him spend 265.82 minutes, or 4 hours and 25.8 minutes, for the assimilation. So he still had over 19 hours left to reach the meeting location by the time he was done assimilating the Cave Heaven.

But he didn’t go to the meeting. It looked like he was going to the meeting because he went to the heavenly city of the first heaven. But he only went there to get mutated Life Abilities of the Money Pathway.

He searched far and wide for what he needed. Even when he got and harvested 8 mutated Life Abilities of the Money Pathway, he still kept looking for more so that he would have extra in case he underestimated how many Divine Positions he would need to reach the fourth layer of force.

As he grabbed rank 5 cultivators, he said to himself, ’It is better that I have more than I need, than need more than I have. Anyway, I have a lot of world hearts, so I can afford to create many Divine Positions.’
