THE GOD EATER

Loki refused to stop for anything. He had a leer on the corner of his lips as he smashed into the first giant.

To call it a smashing would be an exaggeration of what had happened. He would be smashing into something if there was any meaningful resistance against his forward momentum. But there was no meaningful resistance, so his entire body had pierced through the face of the giant.

The second giant was already waiting for him when he came out of the back of the first giant. This giant had raised its colossal hand and was slamming it down on his face.

The sight of this black hand reminded him of a certain black hand that tore the sky open and destroyed everything it came into contact with. The memories of those unpleasant experiences flashed through his mind just before the hand slammed into him.

Unfortunately, this colossal hand was weaker than what he was used to. What he was used to forcefully shred matter and energy before converting them into law fragments. But this one could only use the power of force to stop him.

As it happened, he was not lacking in the power of force. In fact, he had up to 9 times as much force as the hand. So it was the hand that was blasted open and torn apart by force in their collision.

Loki continued to pierce through every obstacle in his way. While he was doing this, Monarch Shadow Clone was creating more giants to stop him, while the other divine beings of the Cave Heaven came out to stop him.

Unfortunately for all of them, he was just too fast to be stopped. The best that all of her effort could achieve was to increase the time it took for him to reach her Cave Heaven from 0.17 seconds to 0.175 seconds.

This was an increase of 2.94%. It looked insignificant on the surface, but deep down in the essence of things, it was an insignificant delay.

In the blink of an eye, he had crossed the distance of 50,160 kilometers, pierced through 7 giants, and crashed into the core of the Cave Heaven.

As soon as he entered the Cave Heaven, he activated the Devour Ability. He let the black forcefield erupt from him and cover all of the Life Fires in the core of the Cave Heaven.

This time, the rate at which the Life Fire’s lifespan was lost was orders of magnitude higher than whatever the Siphon Ability could manage. Loki wasn’t siphoning their lifespan as if he were taking a gentle sip from them. Instead, he was ripping them apart with his jaws like a ravenous wolf.

Because the Devouring Ability had the support of his Cave Heaven and the law fragments in his Cave Heaven, not just his cultivation rank, he was able to devour their lifespan at a rate of 8(Cultivation Rank) × 2,120(Cave Heaven) × 8(Law Fragments), which is 135,680 units of divine power.

With this power, he was able to devour 135,680 years of lifespan from them per second. Very few divine beings have this much lifespan to spare. This was why nearly every Life Fire that the black forcefield covered went out nearly instantly.

Only the Life Fire of Monarch Shadow Clone could withstand this kind of consumption for a few seconds. So it was only her Life Fire that didn’t go out instantly.

But this was only the tip of the iceberg of suffering for her. As the Devouring Ability tore through her Life Fire, Loki also jumped in to smash her Life Fire to pieces with his hands.

In order to resist, her Life Fire reformed into her body. In this form, she could use all of her Divine Metacs to resist Loki.

However, since she couldn’t defeat Loki earlier with her three Divine Metacs when they were outside her Cave Heaven, there was no way she could defeat him now. In fact, things are worse now because she is fighting with her Life Fire.

The Life Fire can be said to be where the spirit of a divine being resides. So any damage to it is damage done to her spirit and mind.

If her normal body is damaged, she will only lose some connection to her Cave Heaven, but she will still be able to think and utilize her Divine Metacs. But when her Life Fire was smashed by Loki’s fist, she lost connection to her Divine Metacs and wasn’t able to think.

Each of his punches slamming into her caused her mind to waver like a candle in the wind. It was as if he was punching her mind directly, so she wasn’t able to think straight.

In fact, she was able to make a coherent thought in her mind. This prevented her from activating her Divine Metacs or breaking apart her Cave Heaven in a move born of desperation.

So even though she had the same three Divine Metacs that she had earlier, her resistance this time around was poorer. She basically just stood there and let Loki hit her.

This time, she didn’t have the presence of mind to beg or try to convince Loki to spare her. She didn’t even bother to replenish her lifespan with world essence because she couldn’t think.

When she finally reached her limit, her Life Fire shattered and went out. The loss of her light let the core of the Cave Heaven plunge into total darkness.

After he killed her, Loki turned to look around his surroundings. As he inspected his surroundings, he realized that he was the only one in the core of the Cave Heaven. He also saw that he was surrounded by Divine Metacs.

There were 13 Divine Metacs in total. They were all unsealed, including the three that used to belong to Monarch Shadow Body, so they were prime targets for devouring.

In fact, the Devouring Ability was already eating them. In no time, the black forcefield had eaten two of them. So Loki quickly deactivated the Devouring Ability.
