THE GOD EATER

His voice was loud as he said stubbornly, ”I regret nothing, and I would have done the same thing all over again if I were to start from the beginning. I would have done it over and over and over again if I had to.”

”Everything and anything can be given up in the pursuit of power. Without freedom, life is not worth living. That is my creed.”

As he spoke, his anger seemed to solidify his ephemeral body. His body went from being transparent to being translucent. Then it became solid flesh and blood.

During this process, the opposite was happening to the world around him. While his body was solidifying, the world was becoming translucent and faint.

By the time his body became solid flesh, the world had become completely transparent. Then the world shattered around him.

His consciousness felt a brief moment of orientation as the world shattered like glass. When he removed, he discovered the world had returned. But he was no longer in his memories. Instead, he was back in the Blessed Heaven World.

Above him, a large hand was reaching down to grab him. For some reason, the hand didn’t look as big as he was used to. In fact, the hand didn’t seem as strong as it should have.

He felt as if this large hand was weaker. There was also the fact that the memories he had just experienced had made him angry and frustrated. So instead of running away from the large hand, he decided to stand and fight.

He roared and rushed into the sky with his fist raised. His eyes were bloodshot as he said, ”Never again. Never again.”

His momentum was overwhelming, and he was full of confidence. But the hand in the sky still smashed him down. He was struck from the sky and forced to crash into the ground.

His body smashed through the ground, creating a deep pit. Beyond the pit, cracks extended into the surrounding area, fragmenting the surface of the Central Domain, draining water bodies, and leveling mountains.

The black hand was fine, but the world was suffering because of their clash. He wasn’t doing any better either.

He didn’t die. But half of his body was gone from the collision with the large hand. So it looked like the fight had been between him and the world, not with the colossal hand.

He had lost, but for some reason, he was smiling. He was so happy that his smile turned into full-blown laughter.

As he laughed, he said, ”I can move. I can fight.”

His situation was a stark contrast to everything going on around him. Ever since the eyes of the Dao Lord appeared, everything the Dao Lord was looking at had frozen. So only he was capable of moving, and only he was laughing.

The emotion of the owner of the large, colossal hand was directly opposite to his. The Dao Lord had won that clash. Yet, he wasn’t happy.

The Dao Lord couldn’t be happy because the little dragon that it looked down on had become a dragon king. This was unacceptable as it meant that the will of the Blessed Heaven World was trying to bring about the return of the age of dragons.

The Dao Lord didn’t doubt this because only a world could create a dragon king. And only a super world could create a rank 9 dragon king. Since this dragon’s soul belongs to the Blessed Heaven World and the Blessed Heaven World is a super world, then this dragon must have been the one to turn it into a dragon king.

This turn of events made the Dao Lord say to himself, ’How did this happen? I thought I had already neutered the will of this world. Is this the doing of another Dao Lord? Who could it be?’

Meanwhile, he turned to the sect spirit of the Money Pathway, which the dragon belonged to, and said, ”Why didn’t you notify me of the presence of a dragon in my sect?”

The sect spirit in the divine constellation rolled its eyes and said, ”It was a rank 6 dragon. That was not a threat at all. It was too low to meet the criteria for you to be informed. How was I supposed to know that something like this was going to happen?”

”Anyway, I informed you when he began creating too many Divine Positions. That should count. If you want to blame anyone, you can’t blame me.”

The sect spirit refused to admit that it was at fault. The Dao Lord didn’t take the disrespect seriously since the sect spirit is technically a part of him. Since he couldn’t disrespect himself, the sect spirit couldn’t disrespect him.

Besides, the sect spirit made a good point. The dragon was truly beneath his attention. If he had been informed of this earlier, he would have dismissed the dragon and gotten angry that he was distracted by something as silly as a rank 6 dragon.

So the Dao Lord sighed and said, ”Anyway, it has gotten to this point. So do your job and get rid of the trouble. Do it quickly before the others arrive.”

The sect spirit knew that the matter had gotten so serious that no more errors could be entertaining. So the sect spirit activated the fail-safe in every member of the Four Directions Sect.

As soon as the fail-safe was activated, Loki felt a stab of pain in his mind. When he searched for the source of pain, he found that it was coming from within his body.

His body had changed drastically from the one he used as Gold Body. His body was still golden, but it now had scales. He also had a long tail and two large golden horns on his head.

When he saw his golden hexagonal eyes, he realized that he was now in his full dragon form. He didn’t care about this, though. After all, he couldn’t hide the fact that he was a dragon from the eyes of a Dao Lord anyway.
