THE GOD EATER

After being pushed through the air for a while, he grabbed the tongue and heaved. All of his strength exploded through his arms as he pulled the chameleon through its tongue.

The power of this move was 6(Cultivation Rank) × 6(Body) × 6(Vengeful Bones Metac) × 93,000,000(Cave Heaven) × 6(Law Fragments), which is 120,528,000,000 or 120,528 units of divine power.

Then he added the power of the chameleon’s earlier attack of 16,848 units of divine power to his own to make a total of 137,376 units of divine power. This power was so great that the chameleon’s tongue couldn’t withstand it.

The tongue snapped in his hands, leaving him frustrated. He had been aiming to drag the chameleon through the air and smash it onto the ground with its tongue. Unfortunately, that plan had failed in its infancy.

The chameleon had a divine body, so the physical injury to its tongue didn’t affect only its mind. That injury had also affected its mind and soul, causing it great pain. Fortunately, this injury could be healed by spending some of its lifespan.

Loki had used a rank 6 Metac for that attack and had enhanced it with an extra 500% from his Law Fragments. So the cost to heal that injury came up to 36 years of lifespan.

If it were any other injury, the chameleon wouldn’t have chosen to heal it. After all, lifespan doesn’t grow on trees.

But this injury was to its tongue, which is its main weapon. So the chameleon had to heal the injury, no matter how expensive it was. Even the sudden and unexpected drain of its lifespan by an unknown force didn’t stop it from making this critical decision.

After all, the alternative would be to give up on the fight and lie down to die or run away. But the will of the world wouldn’t let it run away, and it didn’t want to die, so it could only keep fighting.

While the chameleon was healing itself, Loki was already rushing over. Loki was very fast, so by the time the chameleon was done healing, he was already nearby.

The chameleon immediately panicked and attacked with its tongue again. This time, Loki was too close to dodge or even grab the tongue.

The tongue was just too fast. But he didn’t care. He swung the severed tongue in his hand and used it to parry the incoming tongue.

He had used the Splitting Edge Metac to enhance the severed tongue, which caused the severed tongue to glow a dim red light. This enhancement had effectively turned the severed tongue into a sharp sword. It was also a flexible sword because of the soft nature of the tongue.

On the other hand, the incoming tongue had been turned into a sharp spear by the Impaler Metac. But in this clash of swords and spears, the sword won.

The power of the flexible sword was too much, so no parrying occurred. What happened was that the flexible sword cut off the impaling spear.

The chameleon was bested again and had to spend 36 years of its lifespan to heal its injury. Unfortunately for it, there was no time to do so because Loki was too close to give it time to recover.

Even before he reached the target, Loki was already swinging the severed tongue in his hand at the chameleon. The chameleon was still invisible, so all he could see was a general outline created by dust. But he didn’t care.

He swung the severed tongue in the general direction of his enemy like a whip. But anyone who had been touched by this whip would know that it was an extremely sharp sword.

As someone who had tasted the power of the severed tongue just recently, the chameleon knew to dodge the tongue. It jumped away to avoid the attack, but it still fell short.

The attack was also too fast to be dodged. It clipped the chameleon’s head and split the head into two like a log. Then the severed tongue smashed into the ground below and cut open a deep ravine.

The chameleon was still alive despite the grievous injury to its head, and it was still capable of moving. Right now, it had made up its mind to get away from Loki, so it was still rushing away after its head was split open.

But Loki wasn’t willing to let up. He jumped up and smashed down on the chameleon. This directly crushed half of the chameleon’s body into meat paste.

The chameleon was still struggling, so Loki grabbed its neck. Then he covered its body with the black devouring force field of the Devouring Ability.

The devouring force field covered the chameleon and began stripping the chameleon’s flesh. The sight was as if the chameleon was molting. Layers of skin fell away only to be quickly replaced.

The layers of flesh that were stripped disappeared down Fenrir’s gullet. This put the chameleon in a perpetual state of needing to heal but failing to heal despite spending so much of its lifespan trying to heal.

The chameleon didn’t want to die, so it continued to replenish its flesh for a bid at survival. Loki didn’t mind, as this kind of resistance gave him more food to eat. But the will of the world felt too much heartache and couldn’t withstand the insane loss of lifespan.

The will of the world had to accept the fact that its world king had been defeated. So it either had to give up on the world king or die with the world guardian. It chose to do the former.

When the will of the world gave up on the world king, it cut off the access of the giant chameleon to its storage of lifespan. This put an end to the resistance of the chameleon. Its body began withering away irreversibly under the ministrations of the black forcefield.
