THE GOD EATER

Loki hadn’t had a need to manage his world when he didn’t have any living thing in it. But now that he has various creatures with different living conditions and an ecological balance to maintain, it has become prudent that he manages his world very well.

Of course, the ultimate goal of raising these creatures well and increasing their numbers rapidly is to gain a continuous supply of food to eat.

He doesn’t plan to eat them while they are still alive, though. If he eats them when they are alive, he will gain more lifespan from them, but this will also consume their souls.

The loss of their souls means that they won’t be able to reincarnate anymore. This will represent a permanent loss to the population.

The will of the world can produce souls, but it is a slow and energy-intensive process. So it is not advisable that he eats the creatures alive.

Instead, he will wait for them to die before he eats them. The amount of lifespan that he will gain this way will be reduced by up to a third in some cases. But this method will ensure sustainability.

So, as long as the will of the world does a good job, his Cave Heaven will become a farm that will provide him with a steady supply of lifespan. And it will cost him nothing since he gets an infinite amount of energy from the Blessed Heaven World through the Divine Position of the Gold Body Metac.

The thought of this put a smile on his face. The fact that only he could dare to raise creatures to eat anyhow also made him feel pride.

When he was done making arrangements with the will of the world, he borrowed some of its power. As soon as he borrowed the mantle of the will of the world, he became connected to every living creature.

He soon discovered that through this connection, he could communicate with every living creature. He also found out that he could passively influence their thoughts.

Through the connection, he could influence their emotions and make them feel joy or anger. Not only that, but active control of the creatures was also possible.

But what interested him the most was that he could check the history of every creature through the connection. Apparently, the will of the world kept an archive for every creature that contained records of everything they ever did.

His eyes lit up when he saw this archive. He couldn’t help but say, “Is this how the inquiry through the divine constellation is done? It looks like it. But this works even better than the divine constellation, and it doesn’t cost me any lifespan to use.”

This feeling of being able to see the past of every creature and having power over their life and death in the present made him feel like their god. This feeling only increased when he discovered that he could also make the creatures of the world become capable of cultivation.

He discovered that he could give the creatures the potential to cultivate by creating something akin to an Energy Well within them. With this Energy Well, they would be able to absorb the energy around them and use it to grow stronger.

Unfortunately, this potential wasn’t free to grant. It would require him to spend some of his lifespan to grant them the potential to cultivate.

Since all of these creatures were going to be living on his farm, and there was no risk of loss as everything he invested in them would return to him when they died, he decided to invest the lifespan in them.

However, while it was true that this investment would provide a high return of up to 500% in some cases, he still couldn’t provide the potential to cultivate them all because the amount of lifespan needed to do so was enormous.

There were about a hundred million creatures in that world, and these were only the big animals like mammals, reptiles, and birds. Insects, plants, and microorganisms were not among these numbers.

Even if each of these hundred million creatures only required one month of his lifespan to give them the potential to cultivate, he would require 100 million months of lifespan, or 8,333,333 years’ worth of lifespan, to grant them all the potential to cultivate.

What’s worse is that one month of lifespan is only the barest minimum to grant them the potential. A potential created with one month of lifespan would be the worst one possible.

The more lifespan he can use to create their potential, the better their talent for cultivation would be, and the faster they would be able to cultivate.

It goes without saying that the faster they can cultivate, the sooner he will be able to get back his return on his investment, and the higher his return will be. So it is in his best interest to spend a lot of his lifespan to grant them the potential to cultivate.

The more he thought about it, the more difficult he found the situation to be. So he shook his head and said, “Even if I use up all of the essence in the heart of the world and sacrifice myself, I still won’t be able to find the lifespan to help all of these creatures cultivate.”

“No wonder that medium world didn’t let every creature in its world cultivate. It is just smarter to concentrate its resources on a few creatures. That way, it will be able to grow bigger faster than a world that is sharing the potential to cultivate willy nilly.”

Just a few minutes ago, he was contemplating eating the heart of the world. But after seeing the potential of this manager of his, he can’t even entertain the thought of eating it.

He needs the heart of the world to grow stronger as soon as possible so that his farm can grow bigger too. He is much too invested in his farm to consider eating the goose laying the eggs.
