Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 399: Chaos Emperor Source Codex

The very next moment, the spaceship tore through the atmosphere of the Blue Star, and the view began to rapidly shift. The blinking dotted lights across the starry sky began to stretch slowly as space curved rapidly around the hull. Grey had initiated the warp jump.

Boom! Whrmm!

With a small burst of energy, the spaceship broke through the speed of light. The specks of light from the starry sky turned into long, brilliant trails that swept past the viewing windows of the spacecraft.

Everyone silently took in the profound beauty of the starry sky. This was the true cosmos. Each light that swept past them held the possibility of harboring life, just like the Blue Star. It was a wonderful, humbling feeling.

Soon, time passed. People sat idly, while Valeria easily befriended Bai Yue and began to speak with her on much more casual terms. She was, after all, a talented CEO; communication and networking were her forte.

”We are here,” the 5th Ranker, who had been silently sitting on the side cultivating, suddenly spoke up.

The spaceship flashed out of warp speed, and soon a massive crimson planet appeared before everyone’s vision.

”So this is the Crimson Core Planet,” Grey casually commented. He sat in the captain’s seat with his legs crossed, resting his chin comfortably on his hand.

”Not bad.” Aesthetically speaking, the planet did not look too bad at all.

”By the way, what is that grey area showing on the ship’s map?” Grey gestured towards the navigational screen and inquired curiously to the 5th Rank expert.

”Oh, that.” The 5th Ranker looked over and spoke. ”That is the chaotic area of our galaxy. Our planets are situated at the edge of the galaxy, but right now, there is a massive chaotic turbulence acting as a barrier, preventing anyone from crossing over to the other side.”

Hearing this, both Grey and Eterna immediately became serious.

They exchanged a knowing glance and nodded.

”Fragment,” Grey called out, and the Fragment phased out from his body.

”What is up?” the Fragment inquired curiously.

”You take them down to the planet and look around. Eterna and I will make a quick round trip to inspect the grey area for a bit before coming back.”

His intent was crystal clear: keep the foreign experts under strict supervision. The Fragment could erupt with the exact same power as Grey himself, making it the most trusted candidate to keep everyone in line and safe.

”Got it,” the Fragment nodded.

”What happened, Grey?” Valeria came forward as she tied her long hair into a neat ponytail. She still held the exact same youthful, captivating charm as before.

”Nothing to worry about. You guys head down first. We will be back soon,” Grey said with a reassuring smile. ’I will explain everything after returning,’ Grey added telepathically just for her.

Valeria simply nodded. Once the spaceship reached the orbit of the Crimson Core Planet, the crew departed from the vessel and headed down to the surface, leaving only Eterna and Grey behind in the cockpit.

”This should be the exact same turbulence you encountered, right?” Grey turned to Eterna and asked.

”I am certain,” Eterna said with a heavy nod. ”To think it would still be here despite the Chaos Seal being lifted.”

Eterna frowned deeply. So the turbulence was not necessarily tied to the existence of the Chaos Seal? Then what was the true purpose of isolating this galaxy?

”There is only one way to find out. Let’s head there immediately,” Grey proposed.

Eterna had no objections. Hence, they redirected the ship and began their journey toward the region plagued by the chaotic turbulence.

After an additional fifteen minutes of travel, they finally reached the edge of the grey area.

The instant they neared the boundary, a profound chill ran down their spines. They realized that past a certain threshold, there were absolutely no stars or planets visible. Ahead lay nothing but a greyish, dark, and chaotic expanse. It was thick with cosmic fog and occasionally crackled with violent, multi-colored lightning.

”Hm?” Just then, Grey frowned deeply.

He felt his psionic energy triggering abruptly without his command. Additionally, his inner Mind Palace began to shake violently.

”T## Limit has been broken.”

”#### reality cannot be contained anymore.”

”Hm?” Grey’s eyes widened in shock. What was that ominous voice?

”Hey Eterna, did you just hear anything?” Grey silently turned towards Eterna with a highly doubtful look on his face.

”Are you hallucinating?” Eterna frowned in concern. ”Going directly into the turbulence might be a bad idea. Should we go back and return later? I have a very bad feeling about this.”

”No,” Grey abruptly said, his frown deepening.

The cryptic voice that had spoken earlier suddenly became crystal clear in his mind once again.

”The limit has been broken.”

”The endless reality cannot be contained anymore.”

Grey’s Law of Chaos and the Myriad Laws of Chaos both began to tremor violently within him, as if they had resonated with something hidden deep within the turbulence.

With this distinct reaction, Grey realized the truth.

Something in there was actively calling out to him.

Without a second thought, Grey’s figure abruptly phased right through the hull of the spaceship as he shot directly into the chaotic turbulence.

”???” Eterna was left completely dumbfounded.

Seeing his reckless action, she immediately took manual control of the ship and tried to chase after him, but he had already breached the dense turbulence, and she could no longer track his coordinates.

...

The world around Grey began to constantly and violently flash with distorted colors. For a split moment, Grey felt his perception of time shatter, every movement of his body lagging as if changing into one frame per second. He turned left, there was nothing. He turned right, and there was also nothing.

But the pulling sensation in his soul was growing exponentially stronger by the second.

Brrrr!

The eerie sound of something massive twisting and turning inside the chilling, cold expanse rang out silently in the void.

Then, Grey abruptly stopped.

”This is...” Grey’s expression stretched into utter disbelief.

His crystalline heart literally stopped beating for a split second as his entire mind went completely blank.

Before him floated a construct.

Yes, it had to be a construct. That was the only logical concept Grey could formulate to justify the sheer, crushing cosmic weight emitting from it. Because its very existence defied logic. It manifested as an absolute twelve-dimensional paradox that physically fractured the space around it. It constantly twisted and changed, collapsing inward in a way that paradoxically made it look like it was violently expanding across infinite, impossible planes all at the same time.

”What...?” Grey’s internal cognitive server was rapidly overloading just by perceiving this breathtaking, terrifying scene.

The magnificent twelve-dimensional changes happening right before his eyes caused his mind to slowly start initiating an emergency self-detonation sequence to escape the logic paradox.

However, just at that critical moment, the Prime Mover within Grey reacted. The Chaotic Lotus, which had remained entirely silent up until now, shone with a brilliant, blinding light as profound insight rapidly surged directly into Grey’s fracturing mind.

Boom!

A terrifying devouring force erupted from Grey’s body. In the very next moment, the Chaotic Lotus emerged in the physical plane, blooming in full flesh, and rapidly began to devour the impossible construct.
