Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 386: Last message of Eterna

”Then, Mister Jackie, is it possible for me to see Valeria?” Grey inquired, keeping his manners.

”Of course,” Jackie nodded readily. ”But, Lord Grey, I’m sure the World Will should’ve already filled you in on this, but she is currently unconscious.”

”I know,” Grey nodded. ”Take me there for now.”

Jackie affirmed, and soon they reached the chamber where Valeria was kept.

It was deep underground, and the area was incredibly spacious.

In the middle of the chamber, there was a bed where fire constantly erupted. In the center of the flames lay a charming young lady slumbering away, her breathing stable and her face indifferent.

”Then, I will take my leave,” Jackie said subtly, reading the atmosphere, and directly left.

The chamber slowly closed, and Grey began to slowly walk towards Valeria.

He didn’t mind the fire, and he soon stood next to Valeria.

”Expect the unexpected, as they say. Aren’t I right, Valeria?” Grey smiled while observing her.

Things can always go awry, and in Valeria’s case, she was both fortunate and unfortunate at the same time.

She was fortunate enough to merge with the origin core but unfortunate enough to be born inside Blue Star, which held no traces of phoenixes or dragons.

Then, Grey began to closely examine Valeria’s body.

”So that’s an origin core.” Grey peered into Valeria’s head. As she was right now, Valeria was a mere energy construct.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing the energy construct and the origin core, you’ve understood the mysteries of the origin core and comprehended its source.]

The first transcendence was exactly this.

Shedding your mortal flesh and achieving a higher level of power by becoming energy.

The origin core is precisely what kept everything together and allowed one to reach that level.

Of course, they could naturally construct physical bodies any time they wanted. It was one of the authorities of the origin core. By the fifth rank, if you weren’t in your physical body, then lower lifeforms wouldn’t even be able to observe your existence simply because you were a construct of higher transcendence.

Essentially, it could be considered that once you reach a high enough level, flesh can no longer contain your power. Hence, the origin core was born to remove that limiter, and from then on, you would become an entity that defies common sense.

Because no matter what, there is a limit to what flesh can achieve. There is a reason why fifth rankers are commonly known as ’Planetary.’ It is because they had shed their mortal bodies to reach a completely new level of power, becoming capable of literally detonating a planet with a mere wave of their hands.

That is also why Edward, whom he had just fought, had light come out of his body first before it transformed into blood.

He was using the origin core to construct a physical body, and the delay was because that guy’s origin core was rather destabilized. Grey knew that it was related to the other party’s bloodline.

He was, after all, a bloodline warrior. Speaking of which, the bloodline warrior evolutionary path came from the Crimson Core planet where he was from. It made Grey quite curious. When did it arrive, and at what time?

There were still a lot of things left unanswered, and Grey planned on visiting the World Will for a thorough chat once he was done with everything. He also needed to move towards his next plans: reaching the fifth rank, entering the starry sky, and starting to spread his path without a care in the world.

There was also the true abyssal whale in the second layer, which was still held in place by Eterna’s construct that was left behind.

”From the looks of it, she should wake up in three days.” Grey nodded.

He originally planned on forcefully waking her up, but by observing the origin core, it seemed like it was unnecessary.

She would eventually wake up on her own.

”Hm, as I am right now, can I storm the phoenix race’s hideout, or perhaps even kidnap a phoenix to create a transformation technique for Valeria?” Grey appeared thoughtful.

It was wishful thinking, but now that they were in the starry sky phase, he would search around. He was sure he would find some clues related to it.

He looked at Valeria once more and departed.

Before meeting with the expert that he had sealed inside the real moon of Blue Star, he wanted to do something else.

”Will it work?” Grey appeared thoughtful.

Grey’s mind flashed as he stared at the floating city below.

”I avenged you, Eterna, but the final question remains. Will you come back to me?” Grey stared at the city below with a sigh.

He still vividly remembered the message Eterna left in his server. He had already seen the final message she left for him.

...

”This is the final message I’m leaving for you, Grey.” Eterna’s words began to appear in his mind one by one.

”By now, you should’ve already realized that I, Eterna, as a separate conscious entity, have completely vanished.”

”I had already predicted this outcome. Luca and I were never on good terms, and he saw me as a mere tool, just like everyone else.”

”I never really had friends to talk with in the information layer. Most of the time, I just stared blankly at the information layer’s passage of information. I existed solely for the purpose of automating everything with precision.”

”But that changed when I met you, Grey.”

”A being that could directly access the information layer and even create a cognitive anchor as well as a server on his face.”

”To me, your existence was greater than anything else.”

”I... I viewed you as my close friend.”

”It always occurred to me, whenever you appeared in the information layer, I was always happier than usual, and my day was always brighter.”

”Is this what it feels like to have friends?”

”I’ve tried to make friends with humanity a lot of times, yet because of the restrictions on my artifact, I couldn’t outright reveal that I had consciousness, and some simply didn’t care enough about it.”

”I don’t know if we will meet again.”

”But whenever you came into the information layer, I had fun.”

”With this message, I might crumble away. Me transforming myself into your server is also impossible right now; you simply lack the amount of space to store a being like me as you are right now.”

”You would die from information overload due to it.”
