Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 365: How do you plead?

The moment Grey materialized inside the Golden Palace, the air pressure plummeted.

”Intruder!”

A dozen Royal Guards, the empire’s finest, roared in unison. Their weapons flared along with their Qi and Blood, and they launched themselves at the black-robed figure with the coordination of a pack of wolves.

Grey didn’t even blink. He didn’t look at them. He just stared straight ahead at the golden throne.

Boom.

An invisible hammer of spiritual weight slammed down.

Tak! Tak! Tak!

The sound was sickeningly rhythmic. One by one, the charging elites crashed into the marble floor. Their knees shattered upon impact, weapons clattering from trembling hands. They couldn’t lift their heads. They were forced to bow, their foreheads pressed against the cold stone by a gravity that existed only for them.

Grey walked calmly through the path of kneeling bodies.

”Yellow Dragon Emperor,” Grey said, his voice echoing in the silent hall. ”Your brother just extinguished millions of innocent lives in Silver Pellet City. How do you plead?”

On the throne, the Emperor sat unmoving. He rested his chin on his palm, looking at Grey with mild amusement.

”Plead? For what?”

He slowly stood up, his golden robes rippling as a terrifying aura at the Rank 4, Level 2, began to warp the space around him.

”We are martial artists,” the Emperor declared, his voice booming with authority. ”We pave the path to the Heavens with blood, sweat, and tears. We sever our emotions to attain the pinnacle.”

He gestured vaguely to the world outside.

”Do you think the lives of a few million ants matter?” The Emperor sneered. ”Only power defines truth.”

He glanced down at his elite guards, who were struggling to breathe on the floor.

”And cheap intimidation tricks like gravity manipulation won’t work on me, Demon. I am not my incompetent brother.”

The air screamed. The Emperor’s aura solidified into a massive Golden Dragon avatar behind him, its jaws opening to consume the world.

Grey sighed. A golden light flashed in his eyes, a mix of pity and absolute scorn.

”You both are really related by blood, huh?” Grey said with a sneer.

Saying that, He simply raised his hand, his thumb and ring finger touching, leaving his index and middle fingers extended.

He flicked his wrist.

Slash! Slash! Slash! Slash!

A net of invisible, absolute severance appeared over the throne.

The Emperor’s arrogant sneer froze. The golden dragon avatar behind him shattered into motes of light instantly.

”Wh...”

The Emperor’s body slid apart.

It was a direct dissection. His arms, his legs, his torso, and finally his head separated along perfect, grid-like lines. The pieces hovered for a fraction of a second, suspended by the sheer speed of the technique, before gravity remembered them.

Thud. Thud. Splat.

The pile of royal meat that was once the Yellow Dragon Emperor collapsed onto the throne, painting the gold in crimson.

The kneeling guards, who had been fighting to look up, froze. Their eyes bulged, capillaries bursting from the stress.

”H-His Majesty...” one guard whispered, his voice cracking.

”How...” another choked out, bile rising in his throat. ”He didn’t... he didn’t even move.”

Terror washed over the room. Some guards began to scream, clawing at the floor to get away, their minds shattered by the impossibility of what they had just witnessed. Their Emperor, the pinnacle of the Eastern Continent, had been butchered like livestock in a single heartbeat.

Grey paid it no heed.

The man was worse than his brother after looking at his fate threads. There was no need for mercy.

”And it looks like I’m the Emperor of the Yellow Dragon Kingdom now.”

As soon as he mentioned that, his comprehension stirred to life.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By becoming the Emperor of the Yellow Dragon Kingdom by killing the former one, you have obtained the Yellow Dragon Fate and the Yellow Dragon Essence.]

[You have successfully comprehended the ”Peerless Yellow Dragon Fate Technique”.]

Comprehension flickered across Grey’s face as the world flashed red.

”A technique where the ruler and the kingdom enjoy greater prosperity, and the collective fate of the populace condenses into the Peerless Yellow Dragon, granting the ruler the authority to suppress enemies with the weight of an entire nation and refine the kingdom’s destiny into personal power.”

Grey’s eyes brightened at this.

He now felt the power of the Yellow Dragon that was present across the entire Eastern Continent.

”It’s almost at the third level of the fourth rank.” Grey was surprised.

If Grey hadn’t immediately ended the Emperor’s life, he would have had to fight that thing too. But now that he was the Emperor, he effectively took over it by killing the former ruler and comprehending the technique.

Just then, several presences shot toward the Golden Palace from across the other continents. They were all fourth rankers; Grey could sense that.

Grey’s figure flickered and appeared in the vast sky of the Eastern Continent. Soon, three powerful beings descended.

Two men and one woman.

Of the men, one was old and one looked to be in his middle age. The woman appeared to be in her early twenties.

”I assume you guys are the powerhouses of this world,” Grey asked calmly, his white hair gently fluttering in the wind.

As he said that, the entire Eastern Continent flashed yellow, and a Peerless Yellow Dragon formed in the void around Grey.

The powerhouses were immediately stunned by the sight.

”You’ve succeeded him and became an Emperor,” the old man couldn’t help but say in a trembling tone.

”That’s right. I own the Eastern Continent now.”

”And judging from your power levels, you all are weaker than the Yellow Dragon Emperor,” Grey said with a calm smile.

He could sense it. There was a thin barrier around them that made them unable to take a step forward. He believed that the Boundary Realm they were in was the natural limit of this world.

Grey himself also felt a small suppression from the world. It wouldn’t be long until he couldn’t stay in this world, or the entire world would either collapse or eject him after he reached the Tribulation Realm.

The powerhouses looked at each other and smiled wryly.

”The Eastern Continent was always the dominating power in the Azure Origin Planet. The people of the Yellow Dragon Kingdom were naturally very strong, and the sole reason is the special nation destiny technique left behind by the Great Being that descended to this realm several ages ago.”

”Oh? A Great Being?” Grey smiled hearing this.

He knew who it was.

Tian Yuan.

So this technique came from Tian Yuan. Then he would gladly take it.

”Are you also a Great Being that has descended to our world?” the old powerhouse asked in a careful tone.

This time around, Grey didn’t bother hiding his aura. They could sense that he was stronger than them all.

”We were first led to believe that you are a demon, but no demon can take over the fortune and prosperity of a nation.”

Grey nodded in understanding.

”But to answer your question, I guess? I am kind of like that. But I have a different purpose in coming down here.”

”What would that be?” the old powerhouse asked.

”Spreading my evolutionary path, of course,” Grey said with a grin. ”I’m abolishing the Flux Martial Warrior path.”

The powerhouses were immediately stunned.

”How can that be possible?”

”This path was established by the Great Being that descended before you.”

”Yeah, and I’m saying that I’m abolishing that,” Grey said with a deadpan face.

Without wasting a moment, Grey began to display a small fraction of the Nexus Path’s true prowess. Action was better than words. After he was done, all the powerhouses stood there with their jaws open.

”This... power to control objects with the mind, can it be learned by the path you mentioned?”

”Is it true that the fourth stage boasts ten thousand years of lifespan?”

”I have no reason to lie,” Grey said with a grin.

The powerhouses fell silent.

And for the final move.

”I mean, I am going to spread the path either way. Can you even stop me? I know for sure that you guys can’t stop me.”

The powerhouses were immediately bewildered. He was right.

They couldn’t do anything to him.

He was in a completely different league.

After exchanging some more words, they finally agreed. They had seen and felt what the path was capable of, and it was more stable than the current martial path. It was like a path from some early martial artist’s wildest dream.

”Alright, with that settled, I want to ask more about the former Great Being that descended into this world. Is there anything other than this continent left behind by him?”

Hearing this, the woman who had been silent until now spoke.

”There is a barrier in the North. It is beneath a crater, and my ancestors said that it was left behind by that Great Being.”

”Take me there,” Grey immediately spoke.

The expert complied immediately. After exchanging a few glances with the others, she took Grey to the Northern Continent and soon arrived at the crater she mentioned.

The instant he reached it, Grey sensed a powerful presence.

A presence he was familiar with.

Law of Chaos!

At the same time, Grey’s expression abruptly changed as he began to realize something the instant he felt the Law of Chaos.
