Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 389: Welcome Back

Grey’s white hair floated silently in the wind as he observed his creation.

”Greetings, Lord Grey.”

The mecha shifted as it kneeled on the air, its figure easily towering over several mountains.

”You can change size, right? I installed nano-tech for that specific reason,” Grey asked.

”Yes.” The mecha, Magnetron, nodded.

Its figure drastically decreased in size, eventually shrinking down until it reached the height of a small football stadium.

”This is good enough,” Grey said with a satisfied smile. ”From today onwards, you will be called Magnetron.”

”Yes.” Magnetron nodded obediently.

Grey could tell that it was constantly gathering information from the Information Layer.

It was connected to Grey’s mind interface, so he could see the advancements happening in real-time. It was constantly downloading personality models, knowledge, and gathering data from the Blue Star repository at a rapid pace.

Its construct in the Information Layer acted as its cognitive anchor, spiritual conduit, and server all at once.

”I should make a spaceship,” Grey thought for a moment.

The foreigners from the Crimson Core Planet had descended in spaceships, after all.

And the information about the Crimson Core Planet, the Bloodline Evolutionary Path, and the 5th Rank expert’s name were precisely extracted from their vessel.

Grey’s figure flickered, and Magnetron followed suit.

Their bodies tore through the Blue Star’s atmosphere as they crossed over into the starry sky together.

The starry sky was vast. The spaceship before him was huge, a vessel capable of achieving light speed.

This spaceship utilized a Multi-Core Warp Device, which Grey comprehended instantly.

[System: Your comprehension defies the Heavens! By observing the Multi-Core Generation 1 Warp Device, you have comprehended the Multi-Core Warp Device Generation Blueprint.]

[System: Your comprehension defies the Heavens! By observing a spatial construct, you have gained insight into the Law of Space.]

The concept of the Warp Device was simple. It wrapped space using a certain rule surrounding the Law of Space, allowing one to achieve light speed.

As for reaching faster-than-light speed himself? He was infinitely close to approaching the speed of light with his Nexus Overclock, but he still wasn’t quite there yet.

And even then, he couldn’t reach the efficiency of the Warp Device unless he established a Warp engine within his own body. That would grant him the ability to skip through five light-years in fifty minutes, a journey that would have originally taken him five years of traveling at the speed of light.

The Crimson Core Planet was called a neighboring planet, but the term ’neighboring’ was relative. In reality, it was five light-years away from the Blue Star.

But with this spaceship model and the Warp Device blueprint, he could reach it in fifty minutes. From what he understood, this was a Tier 1 spaceship. If Grey made some modifications, it would easily reach Tier 2.

Tier 1 was equivalent to the 5th Rank. There were higher tiers, but the Crimson Core Planet wasn’t rich enough to afford one.

Grey casually waved his hand, and the spaceship in front of him began to dismantle as physics, mathematical symbols, and equations flashed across his eyes.

Within seconds, the spaceship was reshaped. It took on a sleek silver-purple color, and the Nexus Mark formed on its side.

From now on, this would be his spacecraft. He would use it forever. Whenever he obtained higher-tiered spacecrafts, he would simply merge them with this craft.

Grey then silently looked at the starry sky.

Unlike the void of the Abyss, the main world’s starry sky was littered with stars. With one glance, Grey could see dried-up planets nearby.

With the powers he held now, he could without a doubt expand his base.

He held the full ability to revitalize a planet and destroy it at the same time.

He had comprehended the fabled Law of Life, after all.

Just then, an artifact abruptly materialized in Grey’s hands, and he casually threw it into the void.

Boom!

Translucent data energy shot out from the Information Layer as a figure began to slowly materialize in the void.

The figure had flowing pink hair and an extremely lethal face card. If anyone saw her true appearance, they would definitely be charmed by her.

The figure slowly opened her eyes as the energy subdued.

A trace of confusion subtly flickered on the figure’s doll-like face. She looked toward the moon, the Blue Star, then at the spaceship, the mecha, and finally, her gaze fell onto the man in front of her.

He stood with his hands clasped behind his back, his white hair gently floating in outer space. Adorned in a black robe, he stared at the starry sky with a peaceful expression.

Eterna opened her mouth and then slowly closed it.

Her figure floated towards Grey until she stood side by side with him.

”Calculations and probability... they lose their meaning when I am with you, Grey.” Eterna slowly opened her mouth and spoke.

Hearing this, Grey chuckled softly. He stopped sightseeing and turned to face Eterna.

”Welcome back, my dear friend,” Grey said with a smile forming on his face. ”I missed you very much.”

Eterna didn’t say anything. She just silently stared at Grey for a while.

”I was deeply moved by the last message you left for me.”

”I am incredibly honored to be considered a friend of a fabled AI that transcended the concept of computation to gain sentience.”

”...”

Eterna froze slightly hearing this. She didn’t know how to reply to that.

For the first time ever, Eterna felt a different emotion.

Embarrassment.

Yes, she considered Grey her friend. Yes, because of him, her loneliness was almost cured, and he brightened her day without a doubt.

But accepting the fact out loud felt incredibly embarrassing.

Of course, she didn’t show anything on her face. She swiftly changed the subject.

”Three months... it has only been three months since I was lost... but you, you have transformed significantly,” Eterna said, her voice laced with confusion and probability errors in her calculations.

No matter how she calculated, she couldn’t come up with the reason as to why he was now so incredibly strong.
