Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 881: Chapter 881 Someone Has Sneaked into the Room

When she opened her eyes again, it was already the next morning, but she found herself lying neatly on the bed with a thin blanket draped over her.

The door lock was intact, and the window was open, just like before she went to sleep last night, with absolutely no change.

Cheng Yu remembered clearly that she hadn’t lain down to sleep at all. Could it be that there were ghosts in this room?

With a heart full of doubts, she got out of bed, stood by the window, and looked down.

This was the third floor, all right. If someone climbed up from the first floor, it would require considerable effort, and certainly make some noise. She couldn’t have failed to hear it.

Moreover, if they were to leave, they would have to jump down from above, which would inevitably cause a great deal of noise.

She was always a light sleeper. How could she not have noticed anything at all?

Cheng Yu was somewhat confused by the situation in front of her. She wrapped her arms around her chest and paced back and forth in the small room, suddenly noticing a cigarette butt under her bed.

She never smoked. How could there be a cigarette butt in her room?

At this thought, Cheng Yu was greatly alarmed. Someone had sneaked into her room last night, then left without a trace.

The number of people capable of such a feat was surely very few.

Finally, after some thought, she considered that perhaps an excellent reconnaissance soldier could manage it!

The only reconnaissance soldier she knew was Qin Jian!

It was obvious that Qin Jian would definitely not sneak into her room in the middle of the night!

If that were the case, she would probably wake up laughing from a dream!

But if it wasn’t Qin Jian, who else could it be?

Cheng Yu was utterly perplexed!

After pondering for a while, she felt a bit dizzy and parched, so she went to pour herself a drink of water.

While drinking, she was shocked to discover a faint taste of tobacco on her own lips!

Cheng Yu’s heart pounded furiously, and the cup in her hand clattered to the ground, shattering into pieces.

It was too terrifying!

Cheng Yu had never felt a chill down her spine like this before, not even on the battlefield. But this morning, she truly, really, truly felt it.

She could not stay in this place for long!

But she still had an unfulfilled wish that she had to complete!

The only thing she could do now was wait for the right time.

...........................

Li Zhi had left the unit. But on his own, he couldn’t go home.

Gu Shuangshuang was still here.

If he went home alone, it would expose both him and Gu Shuangshuang.

So, for the rest of his leave, he could only strap on a backpack and travel solo through the great landscapes of his motherland.

After all, with only so much money on him, he would return home when it ran out, right?

Li Zhi originally thought it was a good plan.

Who would have expected that man’s plans can’t compare to fate’s?

While he was traveling, he happened to run into his father.

Without a word, his father firmly disallowed him from loitering outside any longer, twisting his arm to get him into the car, and took him home.

Li Youjun had been at the Northern Military Region for military exchanges and hadn’t come back for ten days or half a month.

He called yesterday to say he would return today.

Duan Aihua got herself dressed up beautifully, excited to welcome him home.

But to her surprise, not only did Li Youjun return, but he also brought his son Li Zhi with him.

Seeing Li Zhi, Duan Aihua was stunned. ”It’s just the two of you who have come back?”

”Yes,” Li Youjun replied, putting his bag down and walking forward to gently hug Duan Aihua, ”You’ve had a hard time taking care of the two kids by yourself these days. Especially this bothersome boy who must have asked you for the travel money, right?”
