Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 876: Chapter 876: The Company Commander’s Elder Uncle

”You speak your mind, but don’t belittle others!”

”And who do you think you are? Coming to our barracks to act like the boss?”

”I’m Gu Shuangshuang’s brother!” Li Zhi lifted his chin, ”In terms of seniority, I’m your commander Tian’s uncle! Now tell me, what does that make me?”

His words silenced the warriors!

Are you kidding me, who would dare mess with the commander’s uncle?

If he’s not happy and whispers a few words to his sister, what if she decides not to marry the commander? Then this bachelor would be in trouble, right?

”Alright, cut it out, everyone!” Tian Niu barked, ”This isn’t your business, disperse! Go back and rest or sleep!”

The warriors dispersed, leaving only the three of them in the room.

Tian Niu slammed the door shut and casually grabbed a stool to sit across from Li Zhi: ”You don’t need to lie to me, I know who you are! You’re my rival in love!”

”Please, with your look, being my rival in love would be an embarrassment for me!” Li Zhi looked at Tian Niu, who was burly and sunburnt, with big, round eyes that really resembled a pair of cow eyes.

He just couldn’t fathom how Gu Shuangshuang could fall for someone like him.

”You think I want to be your love rival? Pretty boy, looking like a boiled chicken, you’re not at all to Tian Niu’s taste.”

”If you don’t want to be my love rival, then why are you trying to snatch Gu Shuangshuang from me?” If it weren’t for Tian Niu getting in the way, she and Gu Shuangshuang would be a perfect match.

”Don’t you know to respect the order of things? It was clearly I who got close to Gu Shuangshuang first!” Tian Niu stood up, hands on his hips, and looked down at him from above, ”Let me tell you, we don’t welcome you here. Stay for one night, and you leave tomorrow!”

”You say leave and I leave? I won’t. I need to keep a close eye on you, in case you, with your devious mind, do something harmful to Gu Shuangshuang.” Li Zhi also stood up, and the two men locked eyes fiercely, the air thick with tension.

”Enough, both of you, stop arguing!” After a tiring day and eagerly waiting for his return, they hadn’t even had the chance to exchange a few sweet words before these two started their quarrel.

”You think I want to argue with him?” Tian Niu was frustrated too, ”Shuangshuang, you say you came to see me and I was over the moon! Why bring my love rival along with you? Or is there some bad news you want to tell me?”

Seeing Tian Niu’s misunderstanding, Gu Shuangshuang stepped forward and gently took his hand: ”I didn’t want it to be like this! My mom kept me under house arrest, and if it wasn’t for Li Zhi, I wouldn’t even be able to step out the door! I lied to my mom saying we were going on a trip. You tell me, if I don’t go back and he goes back first, my mom will surely know I came to see you! You know how bad her temper is, she says she wants us to date, but deep down she’s probably hoping to split us up!”

”Really?” Tian Niu asked.

”When have I ever lied to you?” Gu Shuangshuang glared at him, ”I’ve explained everything, whether you believe it or not!”

”I believe! If I can’t trust my wife, who can I trust?” Tian Niu held Gu Shuangshuang’s hand tightly, ”Wife, don’t be mad!”

”It’s like a fresh flower planted in cow dung!” Watching the two of them being all lovey-dovey only fueled his irritation.

If Gu Shuangshuang had fancied someone like Qin Jian, it would have been acceptable!

But why Tian Niu?

Not only Aunt Duan was angry, he was too!

Seeing Li Zhi angry, Gu Shuangshuang let go of Tian Niu and approached Li Zhi with a big smile, ”Don’t be mad! I’ll find you a fresh flower to stick on too!”
