“In ancient times, two Saints of the West attained sainthood by making great vows. And now my Azure Dragon shall attain the Dao through a grand vow of its own.”

Mumbling to himself in his heart, Yu Zi Yu, now fully transformed into an Azure Dragon, gazed steadily into the depths of the thunderclouds above, where an ice-cold and indifferent eye watched him from the shadows.

That was the Eye of the Heavenly Dao, completely void of emotion, utterly impartial.

It would never allow a being like Yu Zi Yu, who shattered balance and challenged the natural order, to exist freely.

And so…

“I, Azure Dragon, shall dissolve my body to this world, by of the great will.”

Suddenly, a voice resounded through the starry void, echoing across the entire Solar System.

At that very moment, Yu Zi Yu’s Azure Dragon Form burst forth with dazzling golden radiance.

The brilliance was so intense, so pure, that it left all who witnessed it dazed and entranced.

Yet within that light, countless creatures felt a warmth blossom in their hearts.

It was Azure Dragon’s Life Force. Right now, he was burning it, turning it into a great fortune, a gift to the universe.

“What is he doing!?” A dumbfounded voice echoed across the distant Celestial Realm, as the Nether Dragon Serpent, currently a guest there, narrowed his eyes to pinpricks.

He had already been shocked to learn the Demon Court housed an Azure Dragon, but this Azure Dragon had proved to be far more profound than he had imagined.

And now, he was self-destructing.

[Is this some kind of joke? Dissolving oneself, separating body and Soul, isn’t that just suicide?]

“What the…” Even the strongest among them stood in stunned silence.

However, before they could question further, Azure Dragon’s voice once again resounded across the sky, “However, when we see the living beings suffering, powerless to save themselves, our heart cannot bear it. So, on this day, I shall transform into nine Dragon Balls.”

“Should any among you find all nine balls and bring them together as one… then I shall return.” Word after word rang out, each one reaching beyond planets, spreading across half the galaxy.

At that moment, if one looked to the stars, they would see Azure Dragon’s body beginning to fade, as if it was disappearing.

The only thing that remained were nine golden orbs, glowing brilliantly, manifesting within the depths of Azure Dragon.

And then, before the masses could even grasp what was happening, his final whisper echoed in the hearts of all living beings across the Solar System.

“To those who summon us, You may make a wish. Power, wealth, talent, anything and everything—you may obtain it.”

As those words faded…

*Boooom…* A thunderous explosion rocked the stars as nine streaks of golden light shot from the body of Azure Dragon.

*Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…” One after another, the orbs tore through the void, vanishing in all directions.

“What just happened?”

“I don’t know…”

All across the worlds, bewildered faces stared upward in shock.

However, among them, those with true knowledge and experience, found their hearts shaken to the core, because in that single moment, when the Dragon spoke of granting power, wealth, talent, everything, a strange feeling surged within them.

A feeling that this was it, their chance of attaining Dao.

Perhaps it really was that simple, find the nine balls, Summon the Eternal Dragon, and attain the Dao.

“Could it really be true?” On Earth, a Tier-3 Transcendent murmured to himself in disbelief.

“It must be. I’ve never seen a being that powerful… he has no reason to lie to us.”

His reply was met with silence from all around.

If this was true, if the Eternal Dragon’s words could be trusted, then soon, Earth, the Celestial Realm, even the entire galaxy, would be engulfed in a storm of blood and ambition.

For the Eternal Dragon’s promise held a temptation too great for any Mortal or transcendent to resist.

And yet, no one noticed that deep within the void, within the very heart of the dark swirling clouds, the cold indifferent eye still watched in silence.

It stared long and hard in the direction Azure Dragon had vanished. It did not move for a very, very long time.

It was the law of Heaven and Earth, the Consciousness of the Cosmos.

It could not comprehend Azure Dragon’s actions, but its self-sacrifice was real.

And its reason was simply, “It could not bear to see all beings suffer.”

*Booooom…* Suddenly, a deafening roar thundered across the starry expanse.

And then, slowly but surely, the vast thunderclouds that filled the starry skies began to disperse, as if they had acknowledged something.

….

And in that same instant, in the deepest corners of the cosmos…

“What a move… What a brilliant move…” Booming laughter echoed across the starry voice, as the Heaven-Connecting Jianmu was left in astonishment.

[To think… such a character still exists in this world. To dissolve one’s body… To sever the Soul from flesh… To gamble it all on a one in a billion chance… All in pursuit of a Grand Dao hidden in the unseen depths of destiny! Such courage is nothing short of terrifying!]

Others might not have an idea, but she, well-versed in the affairs of all races across the cosmos, understood clearly what that Azure Dragon had just done.

“He made a grand vow, just like the ancient Saints of the West. And now he seeks the Dao.”

As for how such a Dao could be attained?

Every living being would be unable to resist the temptation of the Dragon Balls.

And when that time came, all of existence would be plunged into chaos, bloodshed, conflict, carnage, all ignited by their pursuit of a wish.

And that was Karma.

By casting the ball into the world, Azure Dragon had entwined himself with the Karma of all living things.

And when the day came, when all nine balls were gathered, and Azure Dragon was summoned once more, he would be bearing the immeasurable Karmic weight.

However, what Jianmu could not understand was why? Why would Azure Dragon willingly tie himself to such vast Karma?

After all, getting involved with Karma was rarely a good thing.

Even the Gods themselves had fallen into bondage because of their followers’ faith.

To defeat the Gods, one need only destroy their worshippers, and their power would crumble.

So why would this Azure Dragon voluntarily take on such a burden?

“For the sake of all beings?” Jianmu couldn’t help but scoff. She wouldn’t believe that even if one killed her.

Just moments ago, gazing through the Eye of the Heavenly Dao, she had glimpsed what lay deep within Azure Dragon’s Soul: Ambition, so intense, so raw, that it was utterly terrifying.

“Still… What intrigues me the most is that this Azure Dragon appears to be connected to his Demon Court.”  Chuckling softly, Jianmu narrowed her gaze, curiosity alight.

…

Meanwhile, away from the shock that gripped even Jianmu, deep within the hidden reaches of the Nine Realms…

Yu Zi Yu could no longer contain his laughter.

[It worked! I did it! Right under the nose of the Consciousness of Cosmic Source, I’ve done something that went against Heaven, and yet, won its recognition!]

“Haha… Dissolving my own body on purpose… Truly, only I would dare do something so insane!” Throwing his head back in laughter, Yu Zi Yu grew ever more satisfied with his handiwork.

Silavin: Yes, this has become Dragon Ball…
