Surprisingly, even in the face of an attack on par with that of an ordinary Hegemon, the towering wall remained utterly unscathed.

Moreover, a flickering, eerie glow danced across its surface, as if gloating, no, showing off.

Divine Artifacts possess Spirit… and as one of the Netherborns’ few treasures worthy of pride, the Wall of Sighs naturally had an Artifact Spirit as well.

And now, that very Spirit had proven its presence… and its terrifying power… through sheer force.

“Impressive…” Yu Zi Yu murmured softly, unable to hide the awe in his voice.

Just from the fact how easily it managed to withstand his lightning spear, it was evident that the Wall of Sighs was far from ordinary, it was monstrous.

“Your Excellency, the Wall of Sighs can absorb most forms of energy, and even replenish itself in the process… Moreover, if Heaven rises an inch, it will rise a yard higher. Should it refuse to yield, no force in the world can surmount it… But alas… its greatest weakness remains: Light and Purification. Moreover, it is not suited for battle; its purpose lies in guarding and anchoring peace…”

Nethrûdor’s each word was measured and respectful. He was being completely earnest.

If even this famed Artifact of the Netherworld couldn’t stir the interest of the Angel King before him, then truly few treasures in the realms could.

“Hmm…” Nodding slightly in response, Yu Zi Yu sent a psychic transmission to the True Spirit of the Sixteen Holy Wings, “Anzuiel, tell me, do you think it’s possible to make this Wall of Sighs immune to Light and Purification? If it could defend even against those purest of forces… then it might undergo a true metamorphosis. It might become an Artifact even Hegemons would covet. By then, I could even station it at the border of the Celestial Realm to guard its borders for eternity…”

Hearing this, Anzuiel could not help but break into a soft chuckle. “The Netherborns have tried for millennia and failed. What makes you think we can do it overnight?”

But then, Anzuiel suddenly paused, and then added, as if recalling something, “Still… If you get the chance, bring it to the Angel Clan. With our foundations and legacy, perhaps we could help it undergo that transformation…”

“Alright.” Yu Zi Yu nodded again in quiet agreement.

The Wall of Sighs feared Light and Purification because it was a pure Dark-Element Artifact.

If it could be reforged, and its flaws amended…

Of course, this was only Yu Zi Yu’s conjecture.

However, if it were truly possible, then this Artifact would no longer be just a treasure. It could become the cornerstone of an entire race’s heritage.

Even if it did not reach the level of an Imperial Artifact, it would still not be any lesser than one.

After all, to hold off vast armies and even Hegemons with nothing but its own strength, one could imagine how amazing it was.

Considering all this, Yu Zi Yu’s gaze once again fell upon the distant horizon, upon the towering black wall that pierced Heaven.

“If you follow me… I will seek every fortune the world has to offer to complete you. In time, even advancing to an Extreme Dao Imperial Artifact will not be beyond your reach…”

His voice, bold and unwavering, echoed across the skies; causing the entire Netherworld to fall into a stunned silence.

Follow?

Who?

However, before the countless Netherborns could react…

*Boooom… Booooom…* The ground trembled once more.

And then, before the disbelieving eyes of all, that towering black wall, which had stood for millions of years in the heart of the Netherworld, began to rise.

Then, transforming into a streak of dark, ghostly light, it flew straight toward Yu Zi Yu.

“Successor of the Angel Clan… I trust you…” Suddenly, a voice echoed in Yu Zi Yu’s mind.

And in that moment, if one looked up, they would’ve noticed that the towering wall, 1,000 meters tall and 10,000 meters long, had arrived before Yu Zi Yu.

After all, this was the successor of the Angel Clan, the one who wielded the Imperial Artifact.

And who were the Angels? The beings of Light, the paragons of purity, and the masters of the very forces the Wall of Sighs feared most: Light and Purification.

If this individual truly poured the Angel Clan’s full legacy into refining it, then perhaps… perhaps the Wall’s greatest flaw could be mended.

Why would it refuse?

“Very well…” With a booming laugh, Yu Zi Yu waved his hand casually.

*Boooooom…* In an instant, a swirling green vortex manifested in the skies above.

Then, under the stunned gazes of countless beings, the Wall of Sighs, the revered treasure of the Netherworld, was sucked into the vortex without the slightest resistance.

“Go now… and nourish yourself within the Realm of Life…” Giving a gentle instruction, Yu Zi Yu shifted his consciousness back to reality.

“This treasure… I’m very pleased with it. Now then, let’s speak of the others. If you can satisfy me today… the position of the Netherworld Lord shall be yours.”

“Y-Yes, Your Excellency…”

Overcome with emotion, Nethrûdor dropped to his knees without hesitation, his voice trembling with gratitude, “Thank you for this grace… I shall not disappoint…”

And with that, he began presenting the treasures of the Netherborns one after another.

Some of them were something that left even the nearby Nether Demons and the young prodigy of the Nether Dragon Clan staring in awe, dumbstruck.

For they had never even heard of such things.

Like the Stele of Life and Death, located in the deepest reaches of the Nether Sea—it was actually a Tier-7 Artifact.

Or the Tree of Life and Death, a Divine Tree located at the farthest end of the Netherworld.

However, none of them compared to true terror…

At the very core of the Netherworld, something unimaginable had begun to form: Dark Matter.

Dark Matter was something indescribable, unknowable.

However, any Dark-Attribute Cultivators who had some level of knowledge were all aware of how amazing this treasure was.

For the legendary Netherworld Divine Armor, one of the Netherworld’s Imperial Artifacts, was forged primarily from this very material.

It was a supreme treasure capable of forging an Eternal Imperial Artifact.

And more than that, for Dark-Attribute Cultivators, it was no less than a divine treasure.

It was said that Dark Matter could exponentially amplify the talents of Dark Creature, and vastly deepen their understanding of the Principle of Darkness.
