After a brief reunion, Yu Zi Yu had already gauged the full extent of Slytherin’s power.

Despite his Intermediate-Stage Tier-6 cultivation, he possessed strength rivaling even those at the Late-Stage.

And if push came to shove, he still possessed two trump cards that could overturn fate itself: The Dreamscape, and the unfathomable Eternal Legacy.

With such strength, in the entirety of the Western Sector—apart from Yu Zi Yu himself—there was no longer anyone who could stand against him.

As for those so-called Imperial Artifacts?

After the last great upheaval, when all four Imperial Artifacts had emerged in a single instant… they had each paid the price for their awakening.

Now, to rise once more? It was not so easy.

To put it plainly, those Imperial Artifacts were now steeped in weakness, or maybe even slumbering in some corner of the universe.

Their prior awakening had drained too much of their essence, leaving them incapable of a second awakening in the near future.

In other words, currently, Slytherin reigned unmatched in the Western Sector.

A flicker of amusement tugged at Yu Zi Yu’s lips. His heart even swelled with joy, for Slytherin had come at the perfect time.

For a while now, he had been troubled by the lack of capable hands under him.

And then, as if summoned by fate itself, Slytherin had arrived.

With a faint smile, Yu Zi Yu turned to him and asked, “Slytherin…I want you to attack the First Tower of the World. Would you be willing?”

“Attack the First Tower of the World…” A chilling laugh rumbled from Slytherin’s throats, tinged with an incomprehensible killing intent that could chill blood.

Though their reunion had been brief, it had not taken him long to understand the calamity his master had endured months ago.

As many as four Imperial Artifacts had struck in unison, all for the sake of besieging his Master.

In his opinion, even ten thousand deaths would not be enough to pay for this transgression.

“Master…” Slytherin hissed, voice cold as winter steel, “To attack them… That is exactly what I desire. I will make them pay… in blood and in screams.”

As he spoke, his eight draconic heads rose high into the sky, giving out Soul-rending shrieks.

*Hissss…* The chilling cry echoed across the Heavens, reverberating through the mountains and skies.

It was a sound birthed from the depths of the Netherworld, a sound that sent chills down to the very Soul.

“Great….” Yu Zi Yu broke into a hearty laugh, and he also promised, “You may summon any legion within the Demon Court. I want the entire First Tower of the World… uprooted within a decade.”

“As you command, Master.” With those words, Slytherin’s Spiritual Energy surged. Then, commanding the boundless dark clouds, his colossal figure flew out of the Nine Realms.

Burning rage erupted in his heart.

And in his eyes, the fire of vengeance blazed.

And now, he had returned, to unleash the inferno within his Soul.

His eyes grew cold as frost. And the killing intent that followed froze the very Heavens themselves.

…

“Tsk, tsk… the Shadow Clan is in for quite a tragedy,” a voice tinged with amusement echoed through the air, and not far from Yu Zi Yu, the True Spirit of the Sixteen Holy Wings appeared.

“Oh? And why do you say that?” It was rare for Yu Zi Yu to ask questions, but this time, there was genuine confusion.

While he had full faith in Slytherin’s strength, tragic still felt like an overstatement.

His intention had merely been for Slytherin to keep the First Tower of the World preoccupied, disrupt them long enough for Yu Zi Yu to finish dealing with the Netherborns. After that, he would personally lead the campaign against the Tower.

However, now…

“Haha… Did you not see the true terror lurking within that creature called Slytherin?” Anzuiel chuckled lightly, and cast a meaningful glance at Yu Zi Yu’s puzzled expression before speaking frankly, “That one is the Fear incarnate! Born of Fear, and sustained by Fear. Wherever Fear exists, it can go. In other words… even those intangible, illusory realms, like the Shadow Realm where the Shadow Clan hides cannot stop him. A creature like that… is near-immortal, nearly indestructible. Such a being is descending upon the Shadow Realm…Do you really think the Shadow Clan can resist?”

…

For a moment, Yu Zi Yu stood there; silent; stunned.

Enter the Shadow Realm!?

That…

Yu Zi Yu’s eyes flickered uncontrollably as he stared at the vanishing silhouette of Slytherin, caught in a brief moment of bewilderment.

The true terror of the Shadow Clan lay in their secrecy. Even he, Yu Zi Yu, found it difficult to trace the whereabouts of their hidden sanctuary. However, if their location were ever revealed, then their so-called terror would vanish like mist before sunlight.

In other words, the entire Shadow Clan might very well become meat on the chopping block at that time, powerless to resist their fate.

“So… Heaven has forsaken the Shadow Clan.”

A faint smile of satisfaction curled on Yu Zi Yu’s lips.

[That would truly be the best scenario. If Slytherin could suppress the Shadow Clan, I could turn my full attention to subjugating the Netherborns.]

…

At that very moment, in a remote and mysterious corner of the Western Sector, was a land intertwined with shadows, where the horizon stretched into boundless darkness.

There, shadows pulsed and stirred, giving birth to formless entities one after another.

This was the Shadow Realm, home to the most enigmatic race in the Western Sector—the Shadow Clan.

Born from the shadows, they dwelled in the darkness.

And now, at the very edge of the Shadow Realm, stood millions of still, silent figures.

They were the infamous Shadow Legion.

A legion renowned throughout the stars for their power and unnatural strangeness.

As for what made them strange?

Picture this: a shadow cast by an ordinary pedestrian in a city, within that simple stretch of shade, there could very well be a soldier of the Shadow Legion, silently lying in wait.

They exist within the shadows of every race in the universe.

And this was the root of the Shadow Clan’s unmatched knowledge of the world’s secrets.

Hidden in shadow, they were everywhere. There was no place in the world that they didn’t exist.

…

At this moment, deep within the core of the Shadow Realm, in the innermost sanctum, nine figures stood, each wearing a twisted, eerie mask.

Not far from them sat a figure upon a throne, like a King.

These nine masked beings were the Nine Generals of the Shadow Clan, each commanding nine most terrifying legions.

And the one seated high upon the throne, was once the second most revered existence in the clan, second only to the Shadow Lord himself, The Shadow King.

But alas, ever since the Shadow Lord had been suddenly captured, the Shadow Clan’s greatest legacy had been lost.

And for that reason, the Shadow King could only temporarily serve as the Patriarch, as even he could not claim the title outright.

“The Elemental Clan has already been wiped out,” came a raspy, oppressive voice that filled the hall. “Our First Tower of the World now teeters on the brink of collapse. Countless of our external members have rebelled…”

A heavy silence filled the air, but the next moment…

“Heh heh heh…” A mocking chuckle cut through the gloom.

One of the Nine Generals, the infamous Ghostshade General, spoke with scornful indifference, “So what if the Tower falls apart? It’s nothing more than a money-making machine. Once we stabilize, we’ll rebuild it.”

“That’s reasonable.”

Several voices murmured in agreement.

After all, the Shadow Clan never lacked time.

Unlike other races bound by fleeting lifespans, the Shadow Clan not only lived long, but they never got tired.

In the realm of the uncanny, they were unmatched.

Unfortunately, until they reached Tier-4, they were confined to the shadows, unable to step into the light.

And worse still, before Tier-4, their intelligence remained primitive.

Had that not been the case, the Shadow Clan would have long since dominated all the myriad races.
