“Let this world, so steeped in filth and shrouded in darkness… be purified…”

As Yu Zi Yu raised his right hand high, the sixteen golden wings shimmering with divine texts, started expanding endlessly, as though they had no limits, until even the skies of the Netherworld were overshadowed.

Indeed, Netherworld.

This was the deepest recess of the Dark Expanse, a Small World known as the ‘Netherworld.’

But now, it was enveloped in holy light. Countless storms, heeding the will of Yu Zi Yu, plummeted from the Heavens, crashing down upon the world below.

They howled, like the wails of malevolent spirits.

They charged, like the thunderous hooves of a thousand horsemen, trampling everything beneath them.

In that moment, the entire Netherworld quaked.

*Boooom…* Terrifying storms ravaged across the surface, unleashing devastating force that sent wave after wave of fearsome shockwaves that leveled the land.

Massive cracks riddled the ground, and red hot magma gushed from them, shooting into the skies and descending as a torrential rain of molten fire.

Thick smoke billowed, and the scent of sulfur filled the air…

It seemed as if the end of the world had arrived.

However, this was still not the end.

*Hoooo…* Taking a deep breath, Yu Zi Yu slowly raised his hand once more.

The next moment, the bloodline of Seraph started burning, before holy radiance, pure and endless, converged in the palm of his hand.

However, what was even more shocking was the wings behind him.

The golden wings that blotted the entire sky had fallen completely still. It was as though they were awaiting something. Then came the voice—low, steady, yet reverberating, “Seven…Heavens…”

And the entire world itself fell into silence, for a spine-chilling power began to gather.

Visible to the naked eye, spheres of light began to take shape in Yu Zi Yu’s palm, swirling continuously.

There were only seven, no larger than a basketball.

However, just these seven spheres of light drew the eyes of the entire Netherworld.

They were dazzling beyond imagination, so much so that one could not look at them straight.

And for the Netherborns, who had known little but eternal dusk, this light was too blinding, too pure.

So much so, it seared the eyes of many Tier-4 and Tier-5 Netherborns.

However, that was not what made this fearsome.

What truly struck terror into their hearts was what began to manifest within the seven glowing spheres: Worlds.

One after another—faint, illusory realms began to appear within each ball.

And in the midst of it all, a gentle yet vast chorus filled the air, as if countless Angels were singing hymns in their ears.

This was the Seven Heavens, the ultimate secret art of the Seraph Lineage.

It was rumored to be an extremely terrifying ability, capable of purifying all things.

And now, that very technique was blooming within the palm of Yu Ziyu.

“Be cleansed…” Softly murmuring, Yu Zi Yu gently pushed his right hand forward.

*Whoosh…Whoosh…* Accompanied by sounds of something rapidly cutting through space, the seven orbs, continuously rotating, shot toward the deepest depths of the Netherworld.

And if one looked closely, they would notice the seven orbs expanding as they travelled rapidly without restraint.

In just a few breaths, they had grown vast enough to blot out the sky and blanket the land beneath.

And then…

*Boooom…* With a terrifying explosion, the entire Netherworld fell silent.

Erupting volcanoes froze in place.

Wails of agony came to a halt.

There was only light, holy and endless, bursting forth in the very heart of the Netherworld.

*Booooom…* As the thunderous roar grew ever more terrifying, the dazzling light swept through all, purifying everything in its path.

The Netherborns didn’t even have time to scream before they were reduced to wisps of blue smoke by the blinding light.

…

Cold, mechanical notifications rang one after another in Yu Zi Yu’s mind, making the corners of his mouth lift slightly.

“As expected…” Yu Zi Yu couldn’t help but chuckle, as he realized something quite important.

His Karmic Burden hadn’t increased much.

It wasn’t that it didn’t increase at all.

It did, but it was still within a range he could bear.

“The power of Purification has a slaying effect on dark forces… but just as Anzuiel said, using Purification to kill living beings results in far less Karmic Burden than killing them directly.” A realization dawned upon him, bringing a smile on his lips.

[No wonder Angels were so fond of purifying darkness and evil… This Holy Power could slay their foes while incurring so little Karmic Debt.]

*Tsk tsk…” Clicking his tongue, Yu Zi Yu began to consider whether he should use Purification more often to gain Evolution Points.

However, after a brief moment, as if he had sensed something, Yu Zi Yu’s expression suddenly changed.

“Wait… the Evolution Points I’m gaining seem to have decreased too.”

Startled, Yu Zi Yu finally noticed a serious issue.

He had slain a Tier-5 Transcendent and only received 50 million Evolution Points?

[I clearly remember that in the past, killing a Tier-5 would net me over 100 million Evolution Points. This…]

With a dazed expression, Yu Zi Yu’s thoughts started racing.

*Boom…* Like an ultra-precise computer, he started analyzing and pondering. Countless possibilities surfaced in his mind.

[Could it be that the power of Purification, while purifying the Netherborns, also wiped out part of the energy needed to synthesize Evolution Points…? That’s the only explanation that makes sense as to why using Purification to kill results in half or even less of the usual Evolution Points…]

As a bitter smile appeared on his lips, he became almost certain, convinced that this theory was the best explanation.

Evolution Points, they played an extremely big role in his growth.

Naturally, Yu Zi Yu had studied them.

And through that research, he had come to understand Evolution Points more and more.

…

Killing a living being meant seizing a strange and mysterious type of energy from them.

And once that energy entered Yu Zi Yu’s body, it would transform into Evolution Points.

Just as some beings devour Souls to grow, and others devour flesh and blood, what Yu Zi Yu absorbed was something even more profound.

Something that could not be described clearly, something incredibly mysterious.

It even presented Yu Zi Yu with the potential for infinite growth…

“If I follow this train of thought, then what I’m seizing could very well be. the very hope for evolution that lies within all life…” muttering to himself, Yu Zi Yu had come up with this rather strange speculation.
