Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1526: Three Asura Demons

Zhang Xiaolong [3] looked at Shang Xueli. ”Would you believe me if I said that I am not interested in you?”

”Why?”

”You are indeed a princess, but you’re not my criteria.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] hugged Xie Jingxian and Bai Shuxiang on either side. ”Originally, they were my enemies, but I liked them, so I took them as my wives.”

Xie Jingxian and Bai Shuxiang smiled as they recalled their first meeting with Zhang Xiaolong [3]. Back then, he was much weaker than them, but he managed to defeat them when they tried to attack him. Since then, they have been together for decades, and he took them by his side, including when he ascended to the Paradise Realm.

Shang Xueli looked at the two women. ”Are they evil beasts?”

”Xie Jingxian is the Corrupted Dragon-Tiger with the shadow demon bloodline, and Bai Shuxiang is the Three-Eyed Demon Ape.”

”Eh?” Shang Xueli was surprised by that. ”Aren’t the Corrupted Dragon-Tiger and the Three-Eyed Demon Ape the generals of the four perils? I’ve met them in the past, before I married Mo Zixiao.”

”You’re wrong about that.” Even though Shang Xueli lived with them, Zhang Xiaolong [3] deliberately kept some things under wraps and didn’t tell her about them, especially about his science capsule. ”I met them in the Three Mortal Realms, so they have nothing to do with their two generals.”

Shang Xueli nodded slightly because she didn’t know anything about the Three Mortal Realms, so she didn’t know whether Zhang Xiaolong [3] was lying to her or not. ”How long will the lotus absorb our soul power?”

”Hmm?” Zhang Xiaolong [3] rubbed his chin. ”Back then, the lotus only absorbed our soul power for a month, but our numbers were several times greater than now, so I thought we would be spending quite a while here. Moreover, the lotus does not absorb our soul power for free; it also provides us with something in return, and you can personally feel the effect on your soul.”

Shang Xueli did feel another effect on her soul, and it slowly strengthened according to the amount of her soul power absorbed by the lotus, which she had never experienced before.

”Let’s stop talking, and you should focus on cultivating your soul using the gifts of the lotus.”

”Yeah.”

As soon as Shang Luohu returned to their domain, Shang Zhui and the four asura guardians appeared in the asura palace, and they were relieved to see their empress return safely after she had been missing for a month.

”Did something happen to you, Empress?”

”Did you encounter any trouble out there, Empress?”

”Why did you leave for so long without informing us?”

Shang Dongzhu was the most relieved among them. ”Fortunately, our emperor has not yet emerged from his seclusion; otherwise, your departure would have brought great trouble, Empress.”

”That’s enough.” Shang Zhui stopped them. ”Did you find anything useful for you, Empress? Did you enjoy your time while you were away?”

Shang Luohu nodded to Shang Zhui. ”Even though I only went out for a month, I thoroughly enjoyed my time. Moreover, I discovered something interesting, and it helped me improve my soul power.”

”Where is that place, Empress?” Three of the four asura guardians asked.

Shang Dongzhu was also curious about that place, and he was certain that Zhang Fei was the key to getting there, but he didn’t ask Shang Luohu anything.

’These guys are so curious about that place!’ Shang Luohu shook her head at them. ”To be honest, I don’t know how to get to that place, as I arrived there by chance. After I finished cultivating my soul there, I was automatically sent out of that place, and the portal disappeared by itself. I still wanted to spend time there, but I was worried about my husband’s reaction if he couldn’t find me, so I had to stop. Moreover, there was nothing there besides ruins, so there was nothing else interesting there.”

”What did you find there, Empress?”

”A giant black and white lotus, and it pulled me into it to help me increase my soul power.” The four asura guardians tried searching in their memories about the lotus, but they had never heard of or seen it in their entire lives. ”Alright, you guys should go back to your respective places now so I can rest in peace.”

The three asura guardians left with disappointed looks, but not Shang Dongzhu, who chose to stay behind. ”Did Zhang Fei really not do anything to you, Empress?”

”What do you think he did to me, Dongzhu?” Shang Dongzhu shook her head at Shang Luohu. ”He didn’t do anything to me, and I spent time with my daughter there.”

”Princess Xueli? Is she really in Zhang Fei’s hands?” Shang Dongzhu asked in shock.

”My daughter has been in Zhang Fei’s hands since Mo Shentian sealed his domain.” Shang Dongzhu was even more shocked to hear that. ”I don’t know how he managed to get my daughter out of there, but she is safe by his side. He didn’t return my daughter to me because he wants something from our demon race, but I’m not sure we can fulfill his wishes.”

”What does Zhang Fei want from our demon race?”

”Peace and cooperation.” Shang Dongzhu put on a look of disbelief. ”Zhang Fei doesn’t want enmity with any race; instead, he wants to establish beneficial relations with everyone. You may not believe me, but Zhui and I have seen the situation in his domain, and all races live there in harmony.”

”Is that true, Zhui?”

”Yes,” Shang Zhui created a screen so that Shang Dongzhu could see everything for himself. ”I’ve never been to that sect, but Princess Fengxue has gone there and seen the situation for herself. All these images are what she saw at that time, and you can see for yourself all the races gathered in that sect in harmony.”

Shang Dongzhu looked at the screen, observing all the races communicating with each other. He could see that humans, beasts, demons, natural races, winged races, and demihumans were interacting with each other without differentiating one another, which was something he had never seen in his entire life. He had often seen and heard that humans, beasts, and natural races often had beneficial relations with each other, but he had never witnessed demons and winged races living in one place without fighting because the two races were eternal enemies.

”How could Zhang Fei convince all the races to live together in one place?” Shang Dongzu asked after the qi screen disappeared.

Shang Luohu shook her head in response. ”I don’t know how Zhang Fei managed to do that, but it’s a good thing, right?”

”Yes,” Shang Dongzhu agreed with her. ”Although we are a demon race born of war and blood, I have long desired peace among all races. Unfortunately, all races have their interests, and some are hostile to each other due to past issues, such as the demon race and the winged race.”

”That’s right.” Shang Luohu nodded slightly. ”Just like you, I am tired of the hostility between all races, and I hope that peace will prevail between us. Unfortunately, we have not been able to find peace because of the old grudges between all races or the ambitions of all their leaders, but that hope has appeared with the presence of Zhang Fei. Although his sect is only small-scale, he has proven that all races can live together in one place, and I hope he can bring that peace to this realm.”

Shang Dongzhu released a soft sigh. ”Do you really believe that Zhang Fei can bring peace to all races in this realm, Empress?”

”Yes,” Shang Luohu answered with great confidence. ”Zhang Fei cannot bring peace by himself, but he has many strong people who share his vision beside him, and they will help him to make it happen in the future.”

”For example?”

”Empress Huo and Long Wuzhao are his strongest allies, and he still has many other allies.” Shang Dongzhu wasn’t surprised to hear those two names, but he felt that they weren’t enough to help Zhang Fei bring peace to the Paradise Realm. Moreover, the Golden Dragon King had tried in the past, but his efforts failed miserably. ”Peace is indeed difficult to achieve, but I believe that he will succeed in bringing peace to all races in this Paradise Realm. Although it will take time and a long process, this realm will enter an era of peace for the first time at that time.”

Shang Dongzhu nodded his head repeatedly. ”What do you think if I go to see Zhang Fei for a talk, Empress?”

”Zhang Fei is in seclusion, and he won’t be out for the next few years, so you can only meet him then.” Shang Luohu looked away. ”Dongzhu, I hope you won’t tell my husband about my daughter’s presence with him, as he may attack his sect to free her. Xueli will be fine, and she will return when she has become powerful. At that time, she will be worthy of being the demon god of our race, and she will lead us to a better future.”

”Are you sure Princess Xueli will have the ability to succeed him, Empress?”

”A hundred percent.” Shang Luohu looked at him. ”Honestly, I want to reunite with my daughter as soon as possible, but I think it would be better if she stayed with Zhang Fei for now, and he would help her become a worthy successor for our demon race.”
