Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1516: Choosing People

Feng Yao stood in the air with Huo Ling beside her, thinking about the location where Yue Xuelian and Yue Qianrou were trapped in the past. ”Where is the entry portal to that place actually located? Why can’t I detect it?”

”Do you think there are other remains of that heretical sect there, Master?”

”That’s for sure, Ling’er.” Feng Yao created a qi screen, showing a prosperous sect in the past. ”The Ancient Calamity Sect was one of the greatest sects in the Ancient Realm, and they possessed many powerful techniques in the past, one of which was the Heaven-Defying Corpse Scripture. Even though the sect had long been destroyed, its relics should still be found in the ruins. Even those ancients had to think twice about entering the sect’s ruins because there were many deadly traps there, and they wouldn’t be able to survive if they were affected by one of them.”

”If so, how did Yue Xuelian and Yue Qianrou get out of that place alive?”

”I can’t be sure about that until I find the portal to their sect ruins, but I’m certain there are remains of their members left there, and that person is the one who turned Yue Qianrou into a cursed corpse demon. If we can find the portal, I can go there and search for that technique, and I can reverse the curse on her.” Feng Yao removed the qi screen. ”Let’s go back now, and I will slowly search for the portal.”

’Hey! Yue Xuelian is willing to accept your offer, and she will send three disciples to your sect.’ Zhang Fei [5], who had just finished dual cultivating with Sima Huiqing and Yan Jinwu, was surprised by Feng Yao’s words. ’She has already decided to send Yue Liangyu, Yue Liuxian, and Yue Bingxuan there. Therefore, you must immediately prepare everything, and you must choose three female disciples to send to their sect.’

Zhang Fei [5] didn’t know Yue Liuxian and Yue Bingxuan yet, but he didn’t like Yue Liangyu because of the previous incident at the Moon Tower. ’Do you know when they will be leaving for my sect?’

’Everything depends on you.’

’Alright.’ Zhang Fei [5] looked at Qing Qiu’er, who was starting to take off her dress. ”Qiu’er, Yue Xuelian has agreed to the exchange of disciples, and she chose Yue Liangyu, Yue Liuxian, and Yue Bingxuan to be sent to our sect.”

”Yue Liangyu, Yue Liuxian, and Yue Bingxuan?”

”Yes,” Zhang Fei [5] nodded at her. ”I just learned this information from Feng Yao, but I’m sure she’s already gone to the Celestial Moon Sect before. Since they are going to send three disciples, we should also send three disciples there.”

”Who are you going to send to the sect?”

Zhang Fei [5] thought of the names of three women first. ”I will send Nanfeng Yunxi to the sect, and she will also oversee our alchemy shop there. Besides her, I also plan to send Senior Sister Yan Yinqing and Xiao Laoshu.”

”Eh?” Qing Qiu’er wasn’t surprised by Zhang Fei [5]’s decision to send Nanfeng Yunxi to the Celestial Moon Sect, but she was puzzled by his decision to choose Yan Yinqing and Xiao Laoshi. ”Why did you choose the last two women to go to the sect?”

Zhang Fei [5] immediately explained to her. ”I heard from Tianshi Shengjie that the Celestial Moon Sect lacks experts in the soul and medical paths, so I chose Yan Yinqing and Xiao Laoshi to go to the sect because they are still virgins. I couldn’t possibly send Elmyra to that sect because she is our main healer, and the rest are no longer virgins. Senior Sister Yingyue is Wu Lianzhi’s mother and Yue Qinhua is Senior Brother Liangren’s wife, so I can’t send them either.”

”I see.” Qing Qiu’er nodded in understanding. ”In that case, you should send me out, and I will talk to those three people right away so we can arrange the exchange of disciples with the Celestial Moon Sect as soon as possible. But what about the building for our alchemy shop in the Celestial Moon Domain?”

”I think you should discuss that matter with Yue Xuelian, and it would be great if she could provide a building for us so we don’t have to waste jewels on purchasing a new one.” Qing Qiu’er, Yan Jinwu, and Sima Huiqing laughed upon hearing that because Zhang Fei [5] was indeed stingy in spending jewels, and he wanted to use his jewels exclusively for those closest to him. ”I’ll send you out now, and you can talk to the three women.”

After Zhang Fei [5] sent Qing Qiu’er out of the training space, he continued to dual soul cultivate with Yan Jinwu and Sima Huiqing.

The Alchemy Hall.

Qing Qiu’er had already sat down with Nanfeng Yunxi, and she informed her about Zhang Fei [5]’s decision to send her to the Celestial Moon Sect, including his plan to open an alchemy shop there.

Nanfeng Yunxi was initially hesitant about it, but she changed her mind after Qing Qiu’er told her that the Celestial Moon Sect was a women-only sect, and she immediately agreed with it.

”You can prepare now, and I’ll take you to the sect after I speak with Yue Xuelian again.”

”Yes, Sect Master.”

Nanfeng Yunxi immediately returned to her room to prepare everything, and Qing Qiu’er went to the Soul Hall to meet Yan Yinqing.

The Soul Hall.

Qing Qiu’er sat down with Yan Yinqing and explained to her about Zhang Fei’s desire to send her to the Celestial Moon Sect, but her expression showed reluctance to join the sect. She preferred to stay at the Moonlit Passion Temple because her master, parents, brothers, and sisters lived there, and she did not want to be separated from them.

”Do you mind that, Yinqing?”

”Yes,” Yan Yinqing nodded to Qing Qiu’er. ”I understand the importance of maintaining good relations with the Celestial Moon Sect, but I have no interest in joining that sect. I always have difficulty adapting to new environments, and it takes a long time, which will disrupt my cultivation. Therefore, I don’t want to join that sect, and you can choose someone else.”

Qing Qiu’er nodded in understanding. ”Alright, I won’t force you to go to the Celestial Moon Sect. I will discuss with Zhang Fei [5] to choose another candidate.”

”Thank you.”

After Qing Qiu’er left, Shang Yingyue walked over to Yan Yinqing. ”You don’t want to go to that sect because of our junior brother, right, Senior Sister?”

”Hmm?” Yan Yinqing turned to her. ”What—”

”Senior Sister, I’m a woman too, okay?” Shang Yingyue put her arm around her shoulders. ”You always say you don’t have feelings for our junior brother, but we know you’ve been in love with him since we were still living in the Three Mortal Realms, so you don’t need to deny it anymore. You’re not willing to admit your feelings to him because he has so many women beside him, right?”

Yan Yinqing looked at Shang Yingyue before releasing a soft sigh. ”You’re right about everything, Junior Sister. I’ve been in love with him since we were in the Three Mortal Realms, but I didn’t dare admit my feelings for him. I’ve always dreamed of getting a husband who is completely loyal to me, like your husband is loyal to you. I’ve never fallen in love with any man before, and our junior brother is the first love of my life. I can’t act like all his other wives, including your daughter, and I want him to love only me. Unfortunately, it will never happen because he loves all his wives, and I can’t possibly force him to leave them for me, so I prefer to bury my feelings.”

”Why don’t you want to try it first?”

”No.” Yan Yinqing shook her head. ”I know how I feel, so I don’t want to try that kind of thing, and I prefer to live as I am now. I still love him, but it doesn’t rule out the possibility that I will find another better man in the future, and I might fall in love with that man.”

Shang Yingyue nodded in understanding and changed the subject. ”If that’s the case, you should accept Qing Qiu’er’s offer to join the Celestial Moon Sect, and you might be able to move on with your life. Moreover, you can return here whenever you want, so I think it shouldn’t be a big deal. If I weren’t married, I wouldn’t think twice about joining the sect, and I would gain a lot of new knowledge there.”

”Do you think joining that sect is a good choice for me?”

”I don’t know,” Shang Yingyue replied with a slight shake of her head. ”I don’t know about the situation in the sect, and your character is difficult to predict, so I don’t know if you’ll be a good fit for the sect or not. However, I think you can give it a try first, and you can tell our junior brother if you’re not comfortable there, so he’ll find someone else to replace you.”

Yan Yinqing fell into deep thought after hearing Shang Yingyue’s words. Although she didn’t want to part with them, she felt that going to the sect was the best opportunity to forget Zhang Fei. ”You’re right! At least I can try joining there first, and I’ll tell our junior brother if I’m not comfortable there.”

”You should contact Sister Qiu and inform her about this.”

”Yeah.”
