Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 917: Three Upgrades

”Those ignorant beasts are starting to move, Xiuluo.” Ye Zhiye, who was standing by the window, said this to Tian Shuixiang.

”They have been blinded by their pride, and they have ignored the fact that Zhang Fei has connections with many people who are on a higher level than us, such as the people in the Sun and Star Towers.” Tian Shuixiang released a soft sigh, opened his eyes, and continued. ”They had heard from others about how he toyed with Xereth when they surrounded him in the Starry Sky Realm, and not even the demon could track his whereabouts, let alone those beasts.”

”I think the ones who will suffer the most among them are that female golden fox and vermilion bird, especially since I experienced it myself several months ago.” Ye Zhiye shivered as she recalled the events of that day. ”Huli Xianniang and Zhu Shanniang may be strong, but Zhang Feiʼs lust demon abilities can bypass their cultivation. If he uses his abilities on them, they will completely submit to him and willingly surrender themselves to him.”

Tian Shuixiang stood up and approached Ye Zhiye before hugging her waist. ”I donʼt like this situation because it can weaken us, especially if Zhang Fei kills Long Qiang, Dai Hubai, and Wang Wugui. Unfortunately, they have already made up their minds to attack him, so we can only wait for the results.”

”Yeah.” Ye Zhiye leaned against his chest. ”What about your decision? Have you thought about my idea back then?”

Tian Shuixiang gave a light nod. ”Once the matter regarding Xereth is resolved, we will go straight to the Sovereign Heaven Realm, and we will distance ourselves from the hustle and bustle.”

”Iʼm glad you finally agreed to my idea.” Ye Zhiye looked up at him. ”Honestly, Iʼm tired of hiding in the three mortal realms, and I want to return to the Paradise Realm. Moreover, hundreds of thousands of years have passed there, so I think they have forgotten about us, and we should be able to stay safely there.”

Tian Shuixiang fell into contemplation because of that. ”How about we wait until Zhang Fei is ready to go there?”

”Hmm?” Ye Zhiye raised an eyebrow.

”I donʼt know what that kid is doing now, but I believe it wonʼt take him too long to go to the Paradise Realm, and he might be ready to go there much earlier than we thought.” Ye Zhiye did not deny Tian Shuixiangʼs words, but he also doubted that Zhang Fei could go to that realm so quickly, especially since his cultivation had not yet broken through to the Seven Divine Realms. ”Are you in such a hurry to get back there?”

Ye Zhiye shook her head. ”Since you are confident in Zhang Fei, I will follow your plan, and we will return to that realm together with him.”

”Letʼs continue our seclusion.”

”Yeah.”

Elsewhere, Lin Jingxia stood alone by the window with her hands behind her waist, staring into the distance in deep thought.

Unlike Tian Shuixiang and Ye Zhiye, Lin Jingxia knew that Zhang Fei and his five clones were busy with their isolation, so she wasnʼt too worried about the five mythical beasts leaving to capture him. However, he disliked their decision to attack him, especially since they were much more senior than him.

”I hope that kid doesnʼt act as crazy as them, or the three mortal realms will lose some powerful cultivators, and we wonʼt be able to do anything if an enemy stronger than Xereth suddenly appears.” Lin Jingxia then turned towards the bedroom door, and a woman walked in. ”Why did you come to see me, Zhu Hong?”

”Do you have a way to contact Zhang Fei?” Zhu Hong immediately moved to Lin Jingxiaʼs side.

Tian Jingxia shook her head slightly. ”If you are worried about Zhu Shanniang, I can assure you that nothing will happen to her for now, especially since Zhang Fei and his clones are in seclusion. However, that kid is really cunning, and he already knows about their jealousy toward him, so he might have already prepared something in the Sky Dragon Realm to deal with them.”

”In fact, Zhang Fei brought many female beasts from the Sky Dragon Realm into seclusion with him, one of whom was my cousin, Zhu Lingyao.” Tian Jingxia already knew about it because Zhang Fei had told her a few months ago, but she was surprised to hear from Zhu Hong that he brought many people with him. ”He brought those from the Golden Crow, Qilin, Kunpeng, Phoenix, and Nian Clans. From my Vermilion Clan, he only brought one member, who is my cousin. He ignored the Dragon, Black Turtle, and White Tiger Clans.”

Lin Jingxia nodded in understanding. ”Actually, Zhang Fei came here a few months ago to meet me and the Nameless One; he brought Zhi Yan and Xue Bao with him.”

”Oh?” Zhu Hong was surprised to hear that. ”How do you think this matter will end?”

”The final result depends on both parties.” Lin Jingxia exhaled softly and looked out the window again. ”Zhang Fei has already explained to me about his purpose of collecting those female beasts, and I can tell you that he is the strongest cultivator in the three mortal realms right now. If those five beasts attack him, and if he is furious with them, then they will definitely die in his hands.”

”What do you mean by that? How can Zhang Fei be the strongest cultivator with his cultivation still at the ten mortal realms?” Zhu Hong asked in confusion.

Lin Jingxia released a soft sigh. ”For ordinary cultivators like us, the difference in our cultivation levels will determine many things. However, we all know that Zhang Fei is different from us, and he has many things that we cannot understand in his possession; otherwise, the people from the Star Tower would not speak highly of him, right? They were even willing to help him, despite considering him a weakling.”

”You mean Zhang Fei is hiding his true strength?”

”No.” Lin Jingxia shook her head before explaining. ”Zhang Feiʼs true strength is as we have known all this time, but he has a unique ability that allows him to borrow the power of other beasts.”

”Hmm?” Zhu Hong raised an eyebrow slightly. ”Iʼve heard of such an ability before, and my ancestor, Zhu Zhen, can also use it. However, he can only borrow twenty percent of other beastsʼ power, and he can only do it for ten minutes.”

”Zhang Feiʼs ability is on an entirely different level, and he can borrow the full power of other beasts indefinitely.” Zhu Hongʼs eyes widened after Lin Jingxia said that. ”The most terrifying thing about his ability is that not only can he borrow power from one beast, but he can also borrow power from several beasts at once.”

”Are you kidding me?” Zhu Hong asked with a scream. ”How—”

”I donʼt know how Zhang Fei did it, but he showed it to me in person.” Zhu Hong was completely shocked to hear that from Lin Jingxia. ”Feng Yichen is already too strong for us, and he can borrow her full power. Not to mention, there are many female beasts by his side now, so you should be able to imagine how strong he will be if he borrows their power, right?”

”If Zhang Fei does that, he will become unrivaled.”

”Thatʼs right.” Lin Jingxia nodded. ”Actually, I didnʼt want to tell anyone else about this, but I understand your worries about Zhu Shanniang, so Iʼm telling you. I canʼt do anything about her, so you have to try to stop her yourself, or it will be too late once she reaches the Sky Dragon Realm.”

Zhu Hong massaged her forehead. ”I have repeatedly warned Zhu Shanniang not to seek trouble with Zhang Fei, but her unreasonable hatred towards the Heavenly Fox Race has already blinded her. Even after he said he wasnʼt one of them, she still wants to be his enemy. By the way, thanks for the information; I will contact her now.”

”Itʼs okay.” After that, Lin Jingxia continued her seclusion.

In various locations, individuals familiar with Zhang Fei discussed the decision made by the five beasts to hunt him down, including people from the Red Sun Realm and others. They regretted those peopleʼs decision because they knew his character was good enough, and some of them sent him voice messages, persuading him not to kill the five beasts.

However, Zhang Fei did not reply to them because he and his clones were busy facing the lightning tribulations that continued to descend on the Raging Thunder Realm, causing them to sigh to themselves.

The ancestors of several mythical beast races were also disappointed with Long Qiang and the other four, and they decided to stay away from the Dragon, Black Turtle, and White Tiger Clans.

The most furious among them was Huli Zhishen, especially since Huli Jinhu made a unilateral decision, even though she had repeatedly opposed his idea of killing Zhang Fei. She decided to leave the Xianjin Realm and return to the Wilderness Expanse Realm without caring about the situation in front of them, especially because she had a bad feeling that her partnerʼs decision would endanger their race members.

On the flying artifact, Zhu Shanniang stood at the stern with a frown, listening to Zhu Hongʼs voice message asking her to immediately return to the Xianjin Realm. ʼWhatʼs wrong with her? Why would she go to such lengths just for that brat? She even threatened to excommunicate me from our race if I joined these guys to attack that brat.ʼ

”What happened to you?” Zhu Shanniang turned to Huli Xianniang and explained to her about Zhu Hongʼs voice message, causing her to frown. ”Did she tell you her reasons for that?”

Zhu Shanniang shook her head in response. ”Zhu Hong told me that Zhang Fei is extremely dangerous, but she didnʼt give me more details about him.”

”I didnʼt expect that Zhu Hong was so cowardly now; she was so afraid of a snotty brat like Zhang Fei. If I were her, I would step down from her position as the matriarch of your race, and I would hand it over to you, so your race would be more developed than it is now.” Zhu Shanniang did not respond to Huli Xianniang, especially since she never had a dream of becoming the matriarch. ”You donʼt need to listen to her, and we will immediately attack that brat once we arrive at the Sky Dragon Realm in two months.”

”Yeah.” Zhu Shanning immediately replied to Zhu Hongʼs voice message and threatened her back.

.

.

.

”How did it go? Is Zhu Shanniang willing to listen to you?” Zhu Zhen asked.

Zhu Hong shook her head before she explained the situation to him. ”Since she has made such a decision, I have decided to excommunicate her from our race, and she will no longer have any relationship with us.”

”You should tell Zhu Jiang, Zhu Ning, and Zhu Lingyao about this matter, especially since they are Zhu Shanniangʼs family.” The female ancestor of the vermilion bird spoke.

”I just told Zhu Jiang and Zhu Ning about this matter, Ancestor Danqing.” Zhu Hong let out a soft sigh before continuing. ”However, I have not been able to contact Zhu Lingyao because she has entered seclusion with Zhang Fei for the past few months, and I do not know how to contact her.”

”Do they have a special relationship? Why did she enter into seclusion with him?” Zhu Hong immediately explained to the two about Zhang Feiʼs decision to bring many female beasts, including Zhu Lingyao, into seclusion with him. However, she did not explain to them about his ability to borrow the power of many beasts at once, especially since that would only intimidate them. ”Try contacting him, especially since his clones often roam other realms.”

Zhu Hong immediately followed Zhu Danqingʼs orders by contacting Zhang Fei. ”He seems busy and hasnʼt responded to me, but I left him a voice message, so we can only wait for now.”

”All right, you can leave and continue your seclusion.”

”Yes, Ancestor Zhen.”

After a week had passed, the situation in the Raging Thunder Realm had calmed down again, and the sky had also become bright.

Behind the clouds, Zhang Fei smiled with satisfaction after his breakthrough was complete and his Heavenly Body Tempering Technique reached its max level, making his physique fifteen percent stronger and his raw strength ten percent stronger.

Meanwhile, Lei Que and Long Jishan appeared disheveled because they lacked a regenerative healing factor like his. Although the healing pills they swallowed could restore their condition, his lightning tribulations fell non-stop for a week, making their effects impossible to catch up with their injuries.

However, they were fortunate because Zhang Fei and his five clones continued to assist them in recovering using their light elements; otherwise, they would have sustained serious injuries long ago.

Since the current Long Jishan was already strong enough, he had not experienced any significant improvements. On the other hand, Lei Queʼs cultivation increased significantly, and he had already reached the 10-Star Earth Realm, which was the fastest among all the beasts by Zhang Feiʼs side.

”You can rest now, Lei Que.” Zhang Fei immediately sent the thunderbird and Long Jishan back to the beast space, and he himself returned to the pavilion with his four clones, leaving his fifth clone in that realm.

Zhang Fei [5] immediately landed in front of Hong Xinxin, who had been faithfully waiting for her for the past week. ”See? I told you that I would be fine, right? Not only has my cultivation reached the 1-star Sovereign Realm now, but I also gained a lot from my crazy breakthrough this time.”

”What benefits do you get?” Hong Xinxin curiously asked.

”My Heavenly Body Tempering Technique has reached the max level, and my lightning element and elemental law have reached the third stage.” Hong Xinxin was shocked by the last two things, but Zhang Fei [5] immediately explained to her, especially about the Divine Qi inside all the lightning bolts that had struck her for a whole week. ”I donʼt understand the reason behind the heavensʼ decision to use the Divine Qi, but I am grateful that they used it to attack me. This way, my body is much stronger than the cultivators in the Seven Divine Realms, and it will be easier for me to break through to that stage in the future.”

Hong Xinxin nodded in agreement with that. ”What are your plans next? Are you still going to train in this place?”

”I want to reach the max level in my lightning and elemental law soon, so I wonʼt leave this realm before I achieve both.” Zhang Fei [5] then looked into the distance. ”Five enemies are looking for me now, and they are eager to kill me. Unfortunately, it will be quite some time before they arrive in the Sky Dragon Realm, so I canʼt face them yet.”

”Those mythical beasts, right?”

”Since they want to kill me, I have to do something to them, right?” Zhang Fei [5] said with an evil smirk on his face, causing Hong Xinxin to helplessly shake her head. ”Letʼs continue our seclusion while waiting for them to arrive in that realm.”

”What about those people outside?” Hong Xinxin asked, pointing at the exit.

Zhang Fei [5] shook his head. ”I donʼt mean to be arrogant, but they are not my opponents. Thus, we should not mind them and focus on ourselves, especially since Xereth could come out at any time to cause trouble.”

”All right.” Hong Xinxin then grabbed Zhang Fei [5]ʼs hand. ”Letʼs check the deepest part of this place to prove the folklore about the existence of that powerful lightning beast.”

”Iʼll join you two, Master.” Lei, the lightning spirit, hurriedly followed Zhang Fei [5] and Hong Xinxin.
