Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 698: Light And Darkness

Zhang Fei [5]ʼs ability to withstand the power of lightning within the lightning core shocked and amazed Guo Jizhe. ʼHow is this possible? His cultivation is only at the 3-Star Earth Realm; he shouldnʼt be able to last more than five minutes, yet heʼs been here for two hours. Moreover, he didnʼt look like he was in the slightest pain, and he used the lightning to temper his internal organs.ʼ

Unfortunately, Guo Jizhe was unaware that Zhang Fei [5] had endured numerous powerful lightning tribulations and had already advanced to the fourth stage of his lightning body cultivation technique.

[Master, that guy looked down on you too much, and he is now shocked by your actions.]

Zhang Fei [5] chose not to respond to Meiʼs words. Instead, he asked him something else. ʼDo you think Fa Zhen can breach the formation array on the sealed door?ʼ

[The formation used to seal the sealed door is only a high-level intermediate-grade array, Master. Fa Zhen can create a mid-level advanced-grade array, so he should be able to breach that formation. However, we donʼt have any information about the demon behind the sealed door, so I think you should think twice about opening it, or the situation will become difficult.]

ʼMei, this realm is only in the middle realms, and the cultivation of living creatures in this realm is no more than the Divine Expansion Realm, so I think Feng Yao and Shang Yumei should be able to defeat that demon.ʼ Zhang Fei [5] paused for a while. ʼI should take them to the sealed door before deciding whether to break it.ʼ

[I think thatʼs the best choice, Master. Perhaps Feng Yao can check the room behind the sealed door using her eye technique, and you can consider your next steps after that.]

ʼYeah.ʼ

In front of Zhang Fei [5], Guo Jizhe kept watching him seriously, and a malicious intention suddenly flashed across his mind. However, he remembered his closeness to Guo Xuehua and Yun Xinyue, and he immediately gave up his intention. ʼTch! Letʼs see how much longer he can last.ʼ

Shang Ziyuan, sitting in her room, immediately frowned when she heard the voice transmission she had just received.

”Those two damn bitches! I ordered them to contact their two daughters, but they brought members of their clans to the Hong Clan instead!” Shang Ziyuan contacted her brother using an interspatial communication device, informing Shang Huaqiang about them.

Shang Ziyuan did not have to wait long to get an answer from Shang Huaqiang, and her expression turned joyful after he told her about his new plans. ”Heh! They can escape from me now, but they wonʼt be able to escape anymore once the Murong and Hong Clans are destroyed, and I will destroy the Sun and Kang Clans then.”

After that, Shang Ziyuan contacted her subordinates, who supervised the Shang clan branch and the Murong Clan. She ordered them to increase surveillance of Shang Chenguang, Shang Chongyun, Shang Tinglong, and Ran Keqing.

Shang Ziyuan also ordered them to capture the four people if they intended to escape. ”If those four die, the Murong Clan will definitely weaken, and Murong Qianying will never dare to oppose me again.”

Zhang Fei and Zhang Yue, who had already dressed, did not immediately return to their residence. Instead, they tried to combine their elements to create their fusion technique.

They had no difficulty combining Zhang Yueʼs ice element with Zhang Feiʼs darkness, wind, and light elements.

However, Zhang Fei and Zhang Yue found it difficult to combine their ice and fire elements, especially since both elements continued to repel each other. Even though they used their elements at a low intensity, the two elements exploded as soon as they came into contact.

Suddenly, Feng Yao and Shang Yumei landed on the small island, but they immediately exchanged astonished glances as they saw Zhang Fei and Zhang Yue trying to combine the two elements.

”Do you know how to combine our ice and fire elements, Feng Yao?” Zhang Fei asked her.

Feng Yao shook her head. ”I have often seen other cultivators combine their fire element with other elements, but I have never met a crazy cultivator who has such a crazy idea of combining fire and ice elements or light and darkness elements, especially since they always conflict with one another.”

”I also feel that your plan will never work, so you guys can stop doing something useless.” Shang Yumei added.

Zhang Yue looked gloomy after hearing their words, but she was aware that combining her ice element with Zhang Feiʼs fire element was truly difficult. ”Feiʼer, letʼs—”

”Be patient, Big Sis.” Zhang Fei immediately stood up and moved away from them. Zhang Fei then used his light element on his left hand and his darkness element on his right hand, causing Feng Yao and Shang Yumei to frown.

[Master, why donʼt you try asking Ursula? They have light and darkness elements in their body, and their elements have never had any conflict. The Amaris Twins also have light and darkness elements, and they have used techniques combining the two elements, so they might be able to give you some pointers on combining the two.]

ʼOh! Thatʼs right! I forgot about them.ʼ Ursula and the Amaris Twins arrived on the small island in a few moments, and Zhang Fei immediately questioned them. ”How do you guys combine your light and darkness elements?”

”My lord, we didnʼt know about that, and we were able to do it as soon as we were born.” The White Amaris was the first to answer.

The Black Amaris nodded in agreement with her twin sister. ”My sister is telling the truth, my lord. We donʼt need to think about anything to combine our elements, and we can just do it like that.”

After they said that, the Amaris Twins used their light and darkness elements, and they combined both without any significant difficulty.

Zhang Fei, Zhang Yue, Feng Yao, and Shang Yumei were shocked to see the small black-and-white vortex in front of them. It was clear in their eyes that the Amaris Twinsʼ light and darkness elements blended perfectly without showing the slightest conflict.

”Have you ever seen something like this before, Princess Yao?” Shang Yumei questioned Feng Yao as she observed the small black-and-white vortex.

”This is the first time Iʼve seen light and darkness elements merge like this.” Feng Yao then turned to Ursula. ”Try using your darkness and light elements.”

Ursula nodded and opened their palm. In an instant, a black and a white snake appeared on their palms, and the two immediately merged into one. ”Unlike you guys, our body has fused our darkness and light elements since birth, allowing us to use them directly together. However, I can tell that our light element is more dominant than our darkness element, especially since light can suppress darkness.”

”So I have to make my light element more dominant than my darkness element, and I have to use my light to suppress my darkness, right?” Ursula nodded to Zhang Fei. ”Iʼll try it now.”

Zhang Fei immediately drew his light element closer to his darkness element, leading to an immediate conflict and instability between the two. He immediately increased the intensity of his light element, slowly swallowing his darkness element and nearly causing it to disappear.

Zhang Fei decided to increase the power of his darkness element to keep it from dissipating, and his light element slowly began to engulf it. Even though his darkness element continued to show resistance, his light element began to suppress it and continued to swallow it.

Sometime later, Zhang Feiʼs light element swallowed his darkness element, but it did not disappear. A speck of darkness appeared within his light element, indicating that he had successfully merged the two. ”Damn! I did it!”

”Hmm?” Shang Yumei and Feng Yao leaned forward, observing the light ball on Zhang Feiʼs palm that contained the darkness element. ”Try increasing the power of both of them! If it doesnʼt disappear, it means you have succeeded.”

Zhang Fei nodded and followed the two womenʼs request. He gradually increased the power of his light and darkness elements in sync, thereby preventing them from going haywire and exploding.

A while later, Zhang Feiʼs light ball was already quite large, and the darkness inside it became increasingly clear to their eyes. ”I will try to increase the strength of my darkness element now and balance the two.”

”You can try, but you must immediately reduce the strength of your darkness element once it fights back, or this light ball will explode.”

Zhang Fei nodded and gradually increased the power of his darkness element, but it immediately fought back and caused the light ball to waver. He swiftly lowered its power again, making sure they achieved stability first.

Once they reached stability again, Zhang Fei began to increase the power of his darkness. However, he suddenly remembered something. ʼLight is yang, and darkness is yin. I have often combined my Yang Qi and a womanʼs Yin Qi, so I will use that principle to combine my two elements.ʼ

Zhang Fei then closed his eyes, envisioning the merging of Yang and Yin Qi while dual soul cultivating with all his women. Soon, the light ball and the darkness merged, forming a small Yin-Yang symbol on his palm.

Although the Yin-Yang symbol was not yet perfect due to the dominance of Zhang Feiʼs light element, both elements gradually reached the same strength as he increased the strength of his darkness element.

Sometime later, Feng Yao and Shang Yumei were shocked when the Yin-Yang symbol above Zhang Feiʼs palm was complete, and it began to rotate above his palm in balance.

Ursula and the Amaris Twins nodded in satisfaction after they saw that. Zhang Yue looked excited after Zhang Fei managed to combine his light and darkness elements perfectly, which increased her confidence that they could combine their ice and fire elements to create their ultimate combination technique.

Once Zhang Fei was confident that his two elements had reached a perfect equilibrium, he raised his hand, causing the Yin-Yang diagram to float high into the sky and then expand as it continued to rotate.

When the Yin-Yang diagram reached a large size, it immediately showered the area below with countless rays of light and darkness simultaneously, a phenomenon similar to Zhang Feiʼs Exorcismus ability.

*Boom... Boom... Boom...*

Naturally, all of Zhang Feiʼs attacks missed the six women and only struck a distant area, scattering dust everywhere.

”Hahaha!” Zhang Fei laughed out loud as he used his wind element to blow away the dust. ”Finally! I managed to create a technique using the combination of my light and dark elements! This way, I can fight demons and others at the same time, and such an area attack will be difficult for them to avoid.”

”Congratulations, my lord.” The Amaris Twins spoke in unison.

Ursula nodded to Zhang Fei. ”The attack from your technique just now was really powerful, and the demons would be seriously injured if you hit them.”

Zhang Yue immediately moved to Zhang Feiʼs side. ”What if we try combining our ice and fire elements now?”

”Yeah.” Zhang Fei first turned to the Amaris Twins and Ursula, but he immediately sent them back to the training space and the Netherworld Realm.

Shang Yumei immediately spoke to them. ”Unlike light and darkness, fire and ice will put up stronger resistance against each other. Therefore, you two should use both in small intensities, or you will suffer a backlash if you fail to combine them.”

”Under normal conditions, ice will never win against fire. However, Zhang Yueʼs ice element is the ice of the ice phoenix, so it is extremely powerful.” Feng Yao warned the two. ”To combine the two elements, I think you should make your fire element more dominant than her ice, or your fire will freeze.”

Zhang Fei nodded to them and led Zhang Yue to sit in front of him. However, they did not start right away, and he first spoke to Feng Yao and Shang Yumei. ”By the way, I found a sealed door in the dungeon beneath the Bai royal palace, and I have confirmed with Linghu Yincheng that there is a demon sealed inside.”

”A demon?” That surprised Feng Yao and Shang Yumei.

”Yes.” Zhang Fei then asked Feng Yao and Shang Yumei to come closer to him, and he shared the memories he got from Linghu Yincheng with them. ”I will try to combine my fire element with my Big Sisʼs ice element, so I hope you two can help me check the sealed door. Actually, I tried to check it yesterday, but I couldnʼt check through the formation array on it.”

Feng Yao and Shang Yumei exchanged glances for a moment before they nodded to Zhang Fei. After they disappeared, he immediately used his fire element, and Zhang Yue used her ice element with a low intensity. ”Letʼs do it slowly, Big Sis. Iʼm sure weʼll make it, but it might take us quite a while to succeed.”

”Yeah.” Zhang Yue nodded at Zhang Fei. ”Take the lead, Feiʼer.”

Meanwhile, Feng Yao and Shang Yumei arrived at the dungeon beneath the Bai royal kingdom. The two immediately checked the sealed door that Zhang Fei had mentioned.

Huli Yaohu suddenly spoke.

”Hmm?” Shang Yumei raised her eyebrows as the formation array prevented her from sensing any demon aura. ʼDo you know the identity of that demon, master?ʼ

Unlike Shang Yumei, Feng Yao could sense the demon aura, even though the formation array blocked it. She then placed her hand on the formation to analyze it. ʼLingʼer, can you infiltrate this formation array? The demon behind this door shouldnʼt be that strong, but Iʼm afraid itʼs not just any demon, and it might have some special ability that forces the people of this realm to seal it.ʼ

[Why donʼt you just destroy this formation array, master? It is too easy for you, and you can also exterminate the demon inside by using your phoenix flames.]

ʼIf the demon inside is an ancient demon, it will be useful to Zhang Fei, so I want you to check inside to confirm its identity first. If itʼs just an ordinary demon, Iʼll destroy this formation and exterminate it.ʼ Feng Yaoʼs answer caused Huo Ling to sigh helplessly, and she immediately left the Phoenix Princessʼs body before sneaking into the sealed door.

”Is that girl a fire spirit, Princess Yao?”

Feng Yao nodded to Shang Yumei. ”Her name is Huo Ling, and weʼve been together for a very long time. Anyway, you should not mention her to Zhang Fei; I donʼt want him to know anything about her, at least for now.”

”Why donʼt you want Zhang Fei to know about Huo Ling?” Shang Yume inquired in confusion, but Feng Yao chose to remain silent. ”All right, I wonʼt tell him anything about her, and you can tell him yourself in the future.”

”Thatʼs good.” Feng Yao replied with a light nod.

Huli Yaohu suddenly spoke to Shang Yumei again.

ʼI feel the same way as you, master.ʼ Shang Yumei stole a glance at Feng Yao before continuing. ʼSomehow, I feel that this woman is much more mysterious than she shows us, and I think that her secrets might be directly related to Zhang Fei.ʼ

Before long, Huo Ling had already come out from behind the sealed door and entered Feng Yaoʼs body again. [Master, the demon behind this door is the Ancient Devourer Demon Beast.]

ʼThe Ancient Devourer Demon Beast, huh? I didnʼt expect to find such a demon beast sealed in this realm.” Feng Yao then spoke to Shang Yumei. ”The demon beast inside is quite powerful, and it will be very useful to Zhang Fei. Therefore, we donʼt need to do anything, and we can wait for him to be ready to deal with it.”

”A demon beast? What kind of demon beast is there?”

”The Ancient Devourer Demon Beast.”
