Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 691: The Hong Clan

Murong Qianying and Hong Xinxin were sitting in front of two old men. They were Hong Chong and Hong Quan, the patriarch and ancestor of the Hong Clan. An old woman and a middle-aged woman sat beside them, but they didnʼt say a word and listened to their conversation.

The two old menʼs expressions turned serious after Hong Xinxin told them about Shang Ziyuanʼs act of killing Ning Menghao.

”What do you think we should do now, Father? Should we help the Ning Clan?” Hong Chong asked Hong Quan.

Hong Quan deeply thought as he stroked his long white beard. ”I believe we should leave Ning Yuzhong and Ning Xizhun to handle their own affairs. Even if Shang Ziyuan didnʼt kill Ning Menghao, the Ning Clan is too weak to be our ally. Instead, we must focus more on strengthening our alliance with the Hao, Qiao, Tie, and Huang Clans. We also still have to convince the Li, Wu, Ren, and Jin Clans to join us. As for the Wang and Dai Clans, those old folks were truly foolish, and they still think that siding with the Shang Clan is the best solution for their clans, so changing their minds is really difficult.”

”Thatʼs true.” Hong Chong nodded in response. ”I still canʼt understand why Wang Jinghsan and Dai Guowei are so obedient to the Shang Clan, even though Shang Huaqiang has repeatedly exploited their Wang and Dai Clans.”

Hong Quan let out a soft sigh before telling him. ”Their ancestors owe a great debt to Shang Yanhan and Shang Yanjun, especially since their clans should have been wiped out long ago if not for their help. Therefore, you should not be surprised if the two of them are loyal to the Shang Clan, and they will never stop fawning over the clan like mad dogs. Our other problem is those clans from the western region because they have their own agenda, so they will never join either side, and they will definitely wait for the opportunity for one side to be destroyed first before taking action. The Xi Clan is the most ambitious among the six clans, and Xi Hongyan is no less cunning than Shang Huaqiang. Moreover, the Xi Clanʼs strength is equal to ours, so we cannot be careless in opposing them.”

”Grandpa, what do you think if I go to the Mai Clan?” Hong Chong and Hong Quan immediately looked at Hong Xinxin with raised eyebrows. ”The Mai Clan is not as ambitious as the Xi Clan, and I have known Mai Xiaomeng for decades, so I understand her character to some extent. Moreover, she is in control of her clan now, so I think I might be able to persuade her to join our side. Even though her clan is not as strong as the Xi Clan, they will still be valuable allies for us.”

”All right, you can visit Mai Xiaomeng to discuss this matter, but you must not tell her the details. If she leaks everything to Xi Hongyan, it will be a disaster for us.” Hong Quan then asked Hong Xinxin. ”Who is your new lover?”

”Huh?” Hong Xinxin pretended not to understand.

On Hong Xinxinʼs side, Murong Qianying chose to turn her face to the side, especially since Hong Quan glanced at her with a strange look.

Hong Chong and the two other women immediately looked at Hong Xinxin, and their expressions clearly showed that they were suspicious of her.

Hong Quan shook his head at his granddaughterʼs expression. ”Do you think I donʼt know that you took so much Jianshen Liquid from our warehouse? Even with meticulous cleaning, you cannot conceal a manʼs Yang Qi in your body, and it certainly does not belong to Shang Guangming. Additionally, I can sense the same Yang Qi in Qianyingʼs body, indicating that you two are in a relationship with the same man, as evidenced by her reaction.”

ʼThis old manʼs instincts are as sharp as ever.ʼ Murong Qianying inwardly grumbled.

”Are you really in a relationship with another man, Qianying? What about your husband?” The old woman, who had been silent from the start, finally spoke.

The middle-aged woman also asked. ”Qianying, why are you cheating on Shang Chongyun? Are you tired of him?”

ʼThese people! Why are they interrogating me instead? They should be interrogating Xinxin and not me!ʼ Murong Qianying let out a heavy sigh before answering the two women. ”Grandma Cai Yinzhi! Aunt Yan Yizhen! You two should already be aware that I married Chongyun solely for his status as a member of the Shang Clan, and I never truly loved him. Actually, I never thought of cheating on him, but I was caught in a situation that I never expected, and I couldnʼt extricate myself from it.”

”Who is that man? How could he pull you into such a situation? Why did Xinxin join you?” Cai Yinzhi asked as she glanced at her granddaughter.

”Iʼm sorry, Grandma Yinzhi. I canʼt tell you his identity now, and you will meet him when he is ready to go to the upper realms.” Murong Qianyingʼs words caused the four people to frown. ”You guys donʼt have to look at me like that because I wonʼt hide it. That man is indeed still young, and his cultivation is still in the ten mortal realms, but he is much more cunning than seniors like us.”

”For the time being, we will not reveal his true identity for his safety, so I hope you can understand our decision.” Hong Quan and the others looked at Hong Xinxin and Murong Qianying with suspicious gazes. ”Actually, I havenʼt been in a relationship with him for long, and we started dating about two weeks ago when I brought Hong Jingquan and Hong Liying to the Wasteland Realm.”

”How did that man manage to seduce you? Why did you suddenly turn your back on Shang Guangming?” Hong Xinxin sighed softly at her motherʼs questions, but she immediately told them about the beginning of her relationship with Zhang Xiaolong [3], causing Yan Yizhen and the others to glare at Murong Qianying. ”Are you sure you want him as your future husband?”

”Honestly, I havenʼt thought about our relationship that far, Mother. I feel comfortable and enjoy my time with him, but heʼs still too young now, and his future is still long, so I donʼt want to burden him with our relationship.” Yan Yizhen sighed heavily at Hong Xinxinʼs response, particularly considering her age and the fact she still hadnʼt tied the knot. ”Anyway, I can share a few details about him, which will undoubtedly surprise you all.”

”Quickly! Tell us!”

”Haha.” Hong Xinxin softly laughed before telling them a few things about Zhang Xiaolong [3], which shocked them. Her next words shocked them even more. ”Anyway, he is Senior Hun Diʼs newest disciple, so you guys should already understand his talent and qualifications, right?”

Cai Yinzhi then spoke to her. ”If everything you say about him is true, he has a bright future, especially with Hun Di behind him. However, his talent and potential will arouse the jealousy of many people, and they will definitely try hard to kill him if they know about him. Therefore, you and Qianying must protect him well, or he will die before he can grow.”

Murong Qianying and Hong Xinxin nodded at her. ”Thatʼs why we chose to keep his identity a secret for the time being, so not many people know about him, and it can keep him away from danger.”

”All right, we donʼt need to talk about that guy anymore, and you two can take care of him yourselves.” Hong Quan then stood up from his seat. ”You can go to the Mai Clan now, Xinʼer. Your father and I will meet the people of those clans to discuss matters of the Ning Clan.”

”Yes, Grandpa.” After Hong Quan and Hong Chong left, Hong Xinxin asked Murong Qianying. ”Do you want to join me to meet Mai Xiaomeng?”

”Sure.” However, Murong Qianying suddenly received a voice transmission, and her face immediately darkened after listening to it.

”What happened?” Cai Yinzhi asked.

Murong Qianying tightly clenched her fists. ”That bastard managed to get a teleportation portal from Cheng Gaoji! Chongyun informed me that Shang Huaqiang ordered him, Shang Chenguang, and Shang Tinglong to prepare to go to the Netherworld Realm. He asked them to leave once he and Fei Qinyuan returned to this realm.”

”Shang Huaqiang appears to have harbored suspicions about you, and he intended to eliminate them in order to target you and the Murong Clan; otherwise, he wouldnʼt have taken such a decision.” Murong Qianying nodded in agreement with Cai Yinzhi.

Yan Yizhen then asked her. ”What are your plans next? Are you going to fight them openly?”

”Aunt Yizhen, you know that my Murong Clan cannot fight them openly, so I have to think of another way to save my clanʼs main members.” Murong Qianying paused for a few moments before continuing. ”The only person who can save my clan is my new partner, but I will observe the situation first. If the situation becomes too complicated and beyond my control, I will ask for his help to move them to another realm far from Shang Huaqiangʼs reach.”

”I think that is the best choice for your clan.” Yan Yizhen nodded in response. ”If you need our help, you donʼt have to hesitate to say so, and we will help you to save your Murong Clan from Shang Huaqiang.”

”Thank you.” Murong Qianying then turned to Hong Xinxin. ”Letʼs go to the Mai Clan now, especially since Shang Huaqiang and Fei Qinyuan will be back in a few days.”

”All right.”

Since Zhang Xiaolong [3] was still in the Hong Clan and eavesdropped on those peopleʼs conversations earlier, Zhang Fei [4] immediately brought Zilvora, Ilsath, and Orith back to the Netherworld Realm.

Zhang Fei [4] first took them to meet Arbeola and told the old demon tree about Shang Huaqiangʼs latest plan. ”Can you warn the other demon kings and queens, Old Demon?”

”I can do that, but Iʼm not sure theyʼll listen to me.” Arbeola then looked at Zilvora. ”Sheʼs one of the demon queens, so her words will be more influential than mine. Additionally, you can go see Cain, and you can use your favorable relationship with him to inform King Oxgorth about this.”

”Old Demon, you can try to warn them first, and I will go see Cain now.” After Arbeola nodded, Zhang Fei [4] brought the three female demons to the northern mansion in Lust City.

Not long after, Zhang Fei [4] had explained everything to Cain, causing his face to darken. ”I will tell my father about this matter, but I hope you can help me with one thing.”

”What is it?”

”Alder, the wolf king.” Zhang Fei [4] raised his eyebrows in response to Cainʼs request. ”That guy was supposed to be stronger than you, but he was never willing to help us, even though he lived in our realm and used our resources. My father and Queen Zilvora even tried to persuade him, but he drove them away. Since you are a demon cultivator like him, he might be willing to help us if you talk to him.”

Zhang Fei [4] nodded in understanding. ”I will try to talk to Alder, but I canʼt promise that he will be willing to help us.”

”Itʼs okay; you can at least try first.” As soon as Zhang Fei [4] and the three female demons disappeared, Cain immediately contacted his father, King Oxgorth, informing him about the situation. ”Sigh! Our realm hasnʼt regained peace for long, yet those human cultivators will invade here again soon.”

A few minutes later, they had arrived at the Black Moon City. Zhang Fei [4] immediately released his heavenly fox aura and demon power to intimidate all the demon wolves that wanted to attack them.

Zhang Fei [4] immediately led them to Alderʼs residence, where they found him talking to his daughter, Tasha.

”Why did you suddenly come here?” Zhang Fei [4] briefly glanced at Tasha before sitting down in front of the wolf king and telling him the situation, causing Alder to frown. ”I will help you, but on one condition.”

”Tell me.”

”I want you to take my daughter with you to your current realm so she can continue her cultivation there, and she will be safe from those who are trying to come after me.” Tasha wanted to refuse her father, but Alder immediately stopped her. ”You are the hope of our race, but you will never become strong as long as you stay in this realm with me. Therefore, I want you to go with Zhang Fei, and you can focus on your cultivation there. Once you become strong, you can return to this realm, and we will return to our realm to save your mother and the others then.”

Hearing Alder mention her mother, Tashaʼs expression turned sad. She immediately agreed with her father. ”All right, I will go with him, and I will cultivate seriously. Since you are here alone, you must take proper care of yourself, okay?”

”Haha.” Alder laughed and rubbed Tashaʼs head. ”I can even take you to escape from our realm, remember? I know quite a bit about the people from the Red Sun Realm, and they are not stronger than our enemies. You shouldnʼt worry about me, as I will be fine. Instead, you should concentrate on enhancing your cultivation in that realm.”

”Yes, Father.”

After Tasha finished packing, Zhang Fei [4] immediately sent her off to his residence in the Nine Stars Realm, and he asked Xu Lingʼer to accompany her.

Zilvora suddenly asked Zhang Fei [4] to take her to meet some demon queens who were friendly with her. He immediately agreed to her request and took them on a tour of the Netherworld Realm.

Alder immediately gathered his wolf demon subordinates to discuss it, and he also invited Gu Tong and Chi Yang to join them, especially since they came from the Sky Jade Realm, which was Shang Huaqiangʼs main target.

[Mapping of the area of the Nine Stars Realm has been completed; the host can check the entire area via the map.]

After the notification appeared, Zhang Xiaolong [3] immediately checked the areas in the realm. The Red Sun Realm was much larger than the Nine Stars Realm. However, the realm was unique because it was divided into five islands that were far from each other. The Hong Clan, along with the Shang, Murong, Qiao, Hao, and Deng Clans, was located on the southern island.

”Sigh! I will explore this realm in the future, and I will return to the Azure Sky Realm for now.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] instructed Mei to open the gate to that realm, after which he immediately vanished from the Hong Clan.

By the time Zhang Fei and Ru Xue finished installing the medical equipment, the sun was almost setting, so he asked her to return to their residence first.

However, Ru Xue prefers to help Zhang Lingxue and the Chu Sisters in their shop, especially since there are many buyers there. Zhang Fei does not mind this since they can return together via the teleportation device in their shop. He then went straight to the Bai Kingdom, or rather to the Han Clan, to meet Han Yuanzhi.

ʼThis guy! He always comes and goes like a ghost.ʼ Han Yuanzhi then asked Zhang Fei. ”Why did you come to see me at this hour? Are you satisfied with your honeymoon with Princess Xianqin?”

”Qinʼer is a good wife, and I am completely satisfied with our honeymoon.” Zhang Fei then sat down in front of Han Yuanzhi. ”Didnʼt you invite me to stay at this clan twice? Since I refused you twice before, I came here to fulfill your invitation, and I will spend the night here today.”

”Oh?” Han Yuanzhi was taken aback for a moment, but she immediately remembered Zhang Feiʼs words at his wedding. ”Were you really serious about what you said at that time?”

”Do you think I would joke about such a thing?” Zhang Fei then supported his chin with both hands. ”I know you deliberately used Han Bingxing to get close to me, so I offered that to you. Have you thought about the answer?”
