Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 683: Zhuo Xiaochuanʼs Arrival

Upon their arrival at the residence, only Qing Yiʼs group had returned, which was not surprising given the limited market in the Yun Kingdom.

When she saw Xin Xianzi, Zhang Chen smiled and took the female fairy away with her, which made her feel awkward.

”Hey, your grandmother seems interested in Sister Xianzi.”

Zhang Fei nodded to Zefyr, who was sitting on his shoulder. ”My grandmother wants Xianzi to be my wife, so you donʼt have to be surprised to see her act like that.”

”Hehe.” Zefyr giggled at that. ”Actually, Sister Xianzi told me that she fell in love with you the moment you two met at the tower, but she was still embarrassed to admit her feelings.”

”I know.” Zhang Fei then brought Zefyr in front of his face. ”What about you? Weʼve lived together since you made a contract with me, and several months have passed since then. Additionally, youʼve always joined us in my mansion, so weʼve been together for more than a year, yet you are still not willing to be my wife.”

”Hahaha.” Zefyr laughed awkwardly before kissing Zhang Fei. ”Honestly, I have long considered you my husband, but I am still not ready to dual-cultivate with you. When I am ready, I will dedicate myself to you, so I kindly ask for your patience while I prepare myself.”

”If I didnʼt have patience, I would have eaten you long ago.” Zhang Fei led Zefyr to meet Qing Yi and Tang Ziyu, who immediately handed over the earnings from their shop and restaurant in the Yun Kingdom to him. Though the earnings were lower than from his shop and restaurant in Xian Capital, he was satisfied.

Sometime later, Zhang Lingxueʼs group and Lilleaʼs group returned to the residence. However, Zhang Fei did not send all his wives and family members to the training space; he only sent his wivesʼ families there. After all, he wanted them to attend his wedding with Xian Xianqin, which would be held in the morning.

Zhang Fei shared the method of mastering the darkness element law with Janette and asked her to learn it first. His clones also shared the method with their partners from the Sky Jade Realm and the Netherworld Realm, which would make the female demons even stronger.

Xian Changyue and Yun Xinyue did not return to the training space. Instead, they asked Zhang Fei to send them to the Xian capital so they could prepare for his wedding.

Zhang Fei then asked Zhou Shenxin, Shang Yumei, and Ling Long to leave the training space. He asked the three women to join his family to strengthen their relationship with Zhang Chen and his other wives, especially since they had only been with them for a few days.

Zhang Fei decided to close all his shops and restaurants tomorrow because no one would take care of them, and Zhu Yan also had to cook for his wedding. Since many guests would attend his wedding tomorrow, and many of them were stronger than his family members, he asked Feng Yao and Shang Yumei to protect them.

At first, Zhang Fei wanted to reject Yang Luʼer and the six women from Earthʼs wishes to join them, especially since they were not cultivators and would not be able to withstand the aura of so many powerful cultivators. However, Shang Yumei convinced him that she had a way to protect them, leading him to immediately agree to their requests.

If Shang Yumei were still the old her, she would never have thought of helping them. However, their warm and familial treatment slowly changed her character, and she has become increasingly gentle in recent days. Although Yang Luʼer and the others were not cultivators, they were still Zhang Feiʼs women, so she also treated them like sisters.

Zhou Shenxin, who previously felt awkward about her situation, also slowly began to mingle with Zhang Feiʼs family members. Unlike her, Ling Long already felt at home, and she became one of the most talkative among them.

”Are you sure I donʼt need to see my father?” Zhou Shenxin asked Zhang Fei. ”If I donʼt see him, he will definitely suspect something has happened to me, and he might come directly to look for you.”

”Why should you worry about that?” Zhang Fei turned to ask with a relaxed smile. ”You are already aware that Zhou Xiaochuan has always regarded you as a tool, and Ximen Gui is a powerful demon. If they canʼt defeat him, he might use you as a sacrifice, and you will die in vain there. Therefore, I wonʼt send you to him, but I have ordered Zhou Hanling to go there. Moreover, Ximen Chuixue and the others have already infiltrated your kingdom quite far, and they managed to capture many of your fatherʼs subordinates. If your father returns, he will undoubtedly be occupied with matters there, leaving him with no time to search for me. Have you gotten the information from your mother?”

”Yes.” Zhou Shenxin then told Zhang Fei. ”My mother has used those pills on the empress and the other concubines, but she was confused because they showed no reaction after taking them.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei softly laughed. ”Those pills wonʼt activate without a trigger, and I didnʼt give it to your mother. Instead, I ordered Zhou Hanling to give it to Zhou Xiaochuan, and Iʼm sure that he would panic if his wife and concubines were suddenly exposed to a mysterious disease.”

Zhou Shenxin raised her eyebrows for a moment. ”What exactly are the effects of those pills? Will they really not die from the effects?”

”Iʼm not a cold-blooded killer, okay?” Zhang Fei shook his head in response. ”The empress and your fatherʼs other concubines have no issues with me, so I have no intention of killing them. They will only endure temporary suffering until I provide them with the antidote. Moreover, you need many influential people to support you after you take over your fatherʼs position, and they will be useful to help you. That way, your kingdomʼs nobles and powerful clans wonʼt rebel against you, and you can establish your new status faster with their help.”

Zhou Shenxin then told Zhang Fei something else. ”My mother was curious about you and our relationship, so she asked me to take you to see her as soon as possible.”

”Please tell your mother to be patient. Once we have settled our matter with Zhou Xiaochuan, I will go see him immediately.” Zhang Fei then looked at his map to check the position of the Zhou Emperor. ”Your father and master have almost arrived at the demon island, and Zhou Fanzhi is already waiting for them there. Zhou Hanling is still a little far away, but he will join them there soon.”

”Sigh! I hope your plan for my father will really go smoothly, or we will face him directly.” Zhou Shenxin then contacted her mother, Jiang Tingxi, and conveyed Zhang Feiʼs message. ”My mother said that you shouldnʼt keep her waiting long.”

”I know.” Zhang Fei left Zhou Shenxin and approached the two women playing musical instruments in the distance. Zhao Ziqin played her lute as usual, but she was accompanied by Chang Wenjie, who played the flute by her side.

Chang Wenjie was startled when Zhang Fei suddenly hugged her from behind, but she didnʼt reject him and leaned against his chest while continuing to play the flute.

A few minutes later, the two women had finished playing their instruments. Zhang Fei immediately turned Chang Wenjie to face him and kissed her, surprising her.

After all, they had shared a kiss during their first meeting at the Blazing Volcano Mountain, and Chang Wenjie had waited months for Zhang Fei to accept her. She immediately responded to his kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck, enjoying their first intense and passionate kisses.

Zhao Ziqin smiled as she watched their kiss heat up; she was pleased that Zhang Fei had finally accepted Chang Wenjie. She immediately put away her lute and left them, giving her new sister-to-be some time with her husband.

Chang Wenjie immediately buried her face in Zhang Feiʼs chest as soon as he stopped their kiss, and a charming smile spread across her face. ”Why did you suddenly kiss me?”

”Donʼt you like it?”

”I like it.”

”Youʼve been living with us for over a month now, and I can see that youʼre not as haughty as you used to be.” Zhang Fei then raised Chang Wenjieʼs head, looked into her eyes, and caressed her cheeks. ”To be honest, Iʼve wanted you by my side since our first meeting, but your arrogant attitude really annoyed me, so I ignored you and chased you away.”

”Youʼre really mean, you know that?” Chang Wenjie protested with a pout. ”At that time, I didnʼt know you were a demon, but now I know about it. Back then, you used your demon charm to seduce me, and I responded positively, but you treated me terribly instead. Even when I showed my body to you at the Chu Clan, you didnʼt spare me a single glance, and you only focused on having fun with Aunt Hua. Your words back then made me realize that I was wrong, and I kept thinking about your words after I returned to the sect. Since then, I have learned to change, and I have started to change when we met the second and third time, but you still ignore me, which makes me really sad. However, I am now happy because you brought me here, and your kiss just now answered the doubts in my heart.”

”At first, I thought you would never change, especially since you are such a spoiled young miss. But you proved me wrong, and I liked your change.” Zhang Fei then planted a short kiss on Chang Wenjieʼs red lips. ”I promise I wonʼt ignore or push you away again, and I will take you as my wife in the future.”

”Yeah.” Chang Wenjie then pulled Zhang Fei with him. ”I know we will go to the Xian capital after this, but I want you to accompany me first, and we can leave after that.”

”All right.”

Meanwhile, Zhou Xiaochuanʼs flying artifact had landed a little far from the demon island, and Zhou Fanzhi was already waiting for them there. He immediately led Kong Zhi and his subordinates down, but his expression was filled with fury due to the absence of Zhou Shenxin.

In Zhou Xiaochuanʼs mind, Zhou Shenxin was still in the Xian Kingdom, which was much closer to the Demon Island than his kingdom. Thus, she should have been able to arrive earlier than him.

Zhou Xiaochuan immediately contacted his daughter, but Zhou Shenxin did not respond in accordance with Zhang Feiʼs plan, which infuriated him even more. ”Try contacting my daughter, Old Kong.”

”Did she not give you an answer?” After Zhou Xiaochuan shook his head, Kong Zhi tried to contact Zhou Shenxin, and the result was the same. ”She still doesnʼt respond to my calls.”

Zhou Xiaochuan immediately turned his head and looked toward the distance, specifically toward the human island. ”Could something have happened to her? She wouldnʼt dare disobey my orders, so Iʼm sure something happened to her.”

”What about Zhou Hanling, Brother? Didnʼt you send him to protect my niece?” Zhou Fanzhi asked him.

Zhou Xiaochuan nodded and contacted Zhou Hanling before informing them. ”Heʼll be here in a moment, but Shenxin isnʼt with him.”

A while later, Zhou Hanling landed in front of them, and he informed Zhou Xiaochuan according to Zhang Feiʼs orders. ”Emperor, I have never stopped watching your daughter, and we had a meal together at Zhang Feiʼs restaurant that day. However, she disappeared from my senses as soon as she entered her inn, and I have been looking for her for several days but still have had no luck. I suspect that the mysterious person who attacked me back then had kidnapped her, but I donʼt know anything about that personʼs identity.”

Zhou Xiaochuan turned to Kong Zhi, who immediately touched Zhou Hanlingʼs chest to check his soul. Soon after, he shook his head at the Zhou Emperor. ”I didnʼt find anything suspicious in his soul, so he shouldnʼt lie to you.”

”I see.” Zhou Xiaochuan nodded in understanding. ”Can we defeat Ximen Gui without my daughter?”

”Fifty-fifty.” Kong Zhiʼs answer caused Zhou Xiaochuan to frown. ”Do you still want to continue with our plan?”

Zhou Xiaochuan did not answer Kong Zhi immediately, and he thought about their chances of winning first. He felt that it was too risky to fight Ximen Gui without proper preparation, so he wanted to cancel his plan and return to his kingdom.

Xin Yanluo, who was monitoring the Zheng Clan, suddenly sent a voice transmission to Zhou Xiaochuan. Naturally, she did it on Zhang Feiʼs orders, especially since he wanted to weaken him and Kong Zhi.

ʼDamn it! That two female demons really want me dead!ʼ Zhou Xiaochuan then answered Kong Zhi. ”We will continue with our plan, and we will move to the Ximen Demon Kingdom now. However, we should not travel there by air; instead, we will infiltrate there by land.”

For a while, Kong Zhi stared at Zhou Xiaochuan, feeling that his decision was too forceful. ”It will take us a few days to get there by land, and we have to pass through some tough areas on the way there.”

”Letʼs go now.” Zhou Xiaochuan immediately led Kong Zhi and the others across to the demon island.

Unknown to them, Feltia [2] was watching them from the air in an invisible state. ”Hehe! Now everything is ready, so letʼs see if they can leave this island safely.”

After that, Feltia [2] returned to the side of Fyr and the others who were still studying the method to master the darkness elemental law.

After she was unconscious for quite some time, Qu Qiuxue finally opened her eyes. She felt her head was so heavy, especially since Wushuang hit her too hard. ”Damn it! Who exactly is that woman? Does she have a relationship with Huan Ya? I donʼt even know her, but she suddenly attacked me out of nowhere.”

Qu Qiuxue contacted her senior and informed him about the situation, prompting Wei Chou to urge her to return to the Yun Kingdom immediately. He suspected Wushuang had a connection to Huangfu Shou and believed her to be powerful, particularly given her ability to easily knock down his junior.

After hearing that, Qu Qiuxue didnʼt waste any more time and hurriedly left the village. However, her doubts about Wei Chaoʼs suspicions caused many questions to arise in her mind about the relationship between Huan Ya, Wushuang, and Huangfu Shou.

After he had accompanied Chang Wenjie for some time, Zhang Fei brought him back to the residence to meet the others. He then took them to the Xian royal palace, where Shi Qingzhuang had prepared rooms for them all.

After all, the distance between the residence and the Xian capital was too far, and the wedding ceremony would take place early in the morning. Furthermore, due to the size of their group, staying there would be more convenient.

Upon their arrival, Xian Feng immediately asked Zhang Fei to accompany him. They drank together and discussed several matters outside of the marriage.

”Do you think Zhou Xiaochuan and Kong Zhi will die at Ximen Guiʼs hands?” Xian Feng asked him.

”No.” Zhang Fei shook his head. ”I still need them to support Shenxin, so I canʼt let them die. My second clone is keeping an eye on them there, and I asked Xin Yanluo to save them if they are in a pinch.”

Xian Feng nodded in understanding. ”What about Huangfu Shou? Are you going to move against him soon?”

”For now, our main goal is to take down Zhou Xiaochuan and take over the Zhou Kingdom, and I will make plans to deal with Huangfu Shou after Li Tiannan returns to this realm.” Zhang Fei then took a sip of his drink before continuing. ”His ancestors are too powerful, and we will be in big trouble if he finds out about our actions, so we must make thorough preparations before fighting him.”

”I see.” Xian Feng then patted Zhang Feiʼs shoulder. ”You will marry Qinʼer tomorrow, so I will leave her safety in your hands, and you must protect her well.”

”I will definitely protect Qinʼer well.”
