Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 179: Elements Upgrade

In her room, a middle-aged woman shed tears, particularly upon discovering a faded, broken jade, the symbol of her sonʼs life, signifying his death. ”How... how is this possible? How could my son die? Yuʼer went to the western region together with people from the Huan Clan, so no one should have dared to kill him there, but he is dead now.”

*Crack*

Suddenly, a middle-aged man entered the room, but his expression changed to shock at his wifeʼs hands, so he quickly moved to her side and grabbed the broken jade. ”This? Isnʼt this our sonʼs life jade, Yu Xiaoli?”

”Yes.” Yu Xiaoli nodded to her husband. ”What should we do now, Xuan Zan? You should send some people to the Huan Clan in the western region and ask them to take responsibility for our sonʼs death. You can then order them to kill the bastards who couldnʼt protect our son.”

”No need.” Xuan Zan then stored the broken jade in his storage ring. ”I will go there myself to hold them accountable, and I will kill them with my own hands if they cannot give me an explanation.”

”I will go with you there.” Yu Xiaoli wiped her tears before rushing to follow her husband.

Just as they were about to leave the clan, an old man stopped them and inquired. ”Why are you two in such a hurry?”

Xuan Zan immediately showed the Xuan Yu broken life jade to the old man, who was none other than Xuan Zeng, making his face darken. After listening to everything, his killing intent leaked from his body instantly, causing his son and daughter-in-law to tremble. ”Letʼs go! Iʼll go with you two to that region, and Iʼll settle accounts with Huang Jingtian for my grandsonʼs death.”

”Yes, Father.”

However, they suddenly sensed a calm but terrifying aura moving towards them really fast, and a woman landed in front of them not long after. She looked mature and elegant in a loose purple dress, and her long purple hair flowed down loosely behind her back.

Her oval face exuded allure and enchantment; her purple eyes were glazed; her expression was flat; and her thick lips were beautifully wrapped in purple. She has a slender body, but her curves are as beautiful as a flower vase, and her assets are really big around DD-Cup.

The two men gulped hard upon seeing the womanʼs alluring figure, and the charm emanating from her body made their hearts beat fast. However, they immediately lowered their faces so that she wouldnʼt notice the lust in their eyes, especially since she wasnʼt just a woman, and the people behind her were several times stronger than them.

Yu Xiaoli also lowered her face as she cupped her hands toward the woman. ”What brought you suddenly to our clan, Madam Ziʼer?”

Ziʼer did not directly answer You Xiaoliʼs question, but she observed them one by one, then let out a soft sigh and told them the reason for her arrival. ”We already heard about Xuan Yuʼs death, so my father-in-law sent me here to forbid you all from going to the western region, and he asked me to stop you guys if you insist on going there.”

”But-”

”I didnʼt come here to discuss this matter with all of you, but I came here to give you clear orders, and I will kill you if you insist on prolonging it.” Ziʼer interrupted them while releasing her aura, and her powerful aura greatly deterred them. ”Moreover, the person who killed Xuan Yu was my sister-in-law, and she had warned him not to do anything to Zhao Ziqin.

However, he persisted in pursuing her, even resorting to forceful kidnapping, which ultimately led her to kill him.

After hearing Ziʼerʼs explanation, the three people froze in place, but they were truly shocked to learn that Zhao Ziqin had a close relationship with Zhang Lingxue, and she even killed Xuan Yu for her.

Ziʼer then withdrew her aura before speaking to them again. ”Lingxue is on her way back to this region, and she will arrive tomorrow, so all of you can come to our Zhang Clan if you canʼt accept her death.”

Without waiting for their answer, Ziʼer immediately left the Xuan Clan, leaving the three people frozen in their spots for a long time.

After a while, Xuan Zeng took a deep breath before speaking to his son and daughter-in-law. ”Zanʼer! Xiaoli! I, like you two, want to take revenge for Yuʼerʼs death. However, Young Miss Lingxue is his murderer, and thereʼs no way we can win against the Zhang Clan. I myself donʼt like to take this decision, but we have no other choice but to accept his death.

If we donʼt accept his death, it will lead to the destruction of our clan and the suffering of others; therefore, we must put this matter behind us. Moreover, you still have Mingʼer, and his character is much better than his big brother, so you can start preparing him to become the successor of our clan.”

After their fatherʼs departure, Yu Xiaoli asked her husband. ”Are we really going to forget Yuʼerʼs death like this?”

”Do you think I want to just forget about our sonʼs death?” With a heavy sigh, Xuan Zan returned the question, hugging his wifeʼs waist as he guided her back into their clan.

”Unfortunately, we donʼt have the power to take revenge for his death, especially since the Zhang Clan is the second-strongest clan in this region, and we will make many people suffer if we have to face them, so I canʼt help but accept his death.

As our father said just now, we have to start preparing Mingʼer to carry on this clan, and youʼd better not tell him that it was Young Miss Lingxue who killed his brother.”

”What should I say to Mingʼer if he asks about his brother?”

”Hmm?” Xuan Zan thought for a moment before giving his answer. ”Even though I donʼt like to lie to Mingʼer, you can tell him that Yuʼer died at the hands of the Pang Clan, and Iʼm sure that it will spur his spirit to become strong, which will be beneficial for him and our clan.”

Yu Xiaoli sighed softly and nodded in agreement with her husband. ”All right, I will tell Mingʼer like that.”

Meanwhile, Ziʼer arrived at the Zhang Clan and rushed back to her room, where she saw a young woman with purple hair like hers playing the flute in their courtyard.

Unlike Ziʼer, the young woman looks sexy in a tight purple dress that wraps her body, and her body also looks slender with nicely defined curves, but her assets are not as big as hers, and their size is around C or D-cups. Even though her elliptical face is devoid of make-up, it is still pretty and alluring.

Her wide purple eyes possess a sharpness akin to an eagleʼs, adorned with thick eyebrows; her nose is similarly slender and sharp, yet her lips appear thinner without lipstick.

Ziʼer then approached her while saying. ”Your flute playing is getting better, Xiaoling.”

Zhang Xiaoling immediately stopped and turned to her. ”Where did you go just now, Mom?”

”Your grandfather asked me to take care of something at the Xuan Clan, so I went there just now.” Ziʼer then sat beside her daughter and explained the problems between Zhang Lingxue and that clan, surprising Zhang Xiaoling.

”Honestly, I donʼt know your auntʼs real reason for killing Xuan Yu, but Iʼm sure she couldnʼt have killed him for the sake of a girl she just met, and I feel that she is still hiding something else from your grandfather. Even so, she is on her way home now, and she will arrive with the girl tomorrow, so we can ask her about the real problem.”

”Well, thatʼs true.” Zhang Xiaoling replied with an affirmative nod. ”Aunt Lingxue is indeed rude and temperamental, and she is also quite selfish, so she wouldnʼt possibly kill another person for anotherʼs sake. Thatʼs why I believe that she is indeed hiding something from us, so we have to interrogate her tomorrow.”

”Lingxue will definitely punish you if she hears you badmouth her like that.” Zhang Xiaoling casually shrugged her shoulders at that, and Ziʼer lifted her daughter to her feet. ”Letʼs go somewhere else, and I will teach you how to master the final stage of the technique.”

Hearing that, Zhang Xiaolingʼs expression became one of joy, especially since she was still having difficulty executing it. The two women immediately went to another area of the Zhang clan.

After the two women fell asleep, Zhang Fei went straight to the backyard to eat the profound elemental fruit, but Janette was also there. ”Why arenʼt you sleeping? Are you that impatient to return to your realm?”

”Yes.” Janette nodded to Zhang Fei. ”I havenʼt returned to my realm for two years, so I canʼt wait to go home and see my family. Moreover, the situation in the Diyu Realm was completely chaotic at that time, so I always felt afraid that something would happen to my mother and the members of my race.”

”What exactly is that ruler looking for from your race? Why did that person send his troops to massacre your race?”

Janette shook her head at him. ”I donʼt know how to be sure about that myself, especially since my mother never explained it to me, and she always diverted our conversation every time I asked her about it, so I always harbored many questions in my heart about that matter.”

”All right, you donʼt need to be this impatient, and we will go straight to your realm after I finish some business.” Zhang Fei then sat cross-legged in the middle of the backyard as he took out the profound elemental fruit from the system inventory. ”You should leave me alone, especially since I donʼt know what will happen when I eat this fruit, and my light element might affect you.”

Janette nodded in understanding and went straight into the house, especially since she was a demon, and Zhang Feiʼs light element would be bad for her.

[Master, I donʼt think anything bad will happen after you eat this fruit, but your three elements will indeed become stronger afterwards.]

Zhang Fei just nodded and immediately ate the fruit greedily, and he started to feel a stirring inside his body a few minutes later, but it only lasted for a moment and disappeared again, confusing him. However, three consecutive notifications suddenly appeared in his mind, starting him.

[Congratulations! Your fire element has been upgraded to the intermediate stage.]

[Congratulations! Your light element has been upgraded to the intermediate stage.]

[Congratulations! Your darkness element has been upgraded to the intermediate stage.]

Zhang Fei let out a heavy sigh after reading the three notifications, especially since all three elements had only increased by one stage. ʼInitially, I anticipated an upgrade to an advanced level for my elements, but I believe this is sufficient for my current situation, and my light elements will be useful when I visit the Diyu Realm later.ʼ

[You are right, Master. After all, there are only demons in the Diyu Realm, and your light element is their nemesis. Even so, you have to be careful when you go there, especially since they are still strong, even though they are not demon cultivators.]

ʼThatʼs true.ʼ Zhang Fei then tried using the three elements one by one, and the flames that appeared on his palm were brighter and stronger than before, as were the light and darkness elements, making him feel satisfied with all three. ʼNot bad! The three of them have become two times stronger than before.ʼ

[Anyway, why havenʼt you done anything about Pang Hongʼs subordinate yet, Master?]

Zhang Fei responded to her question by shaking his head. ʼMei, Iʼm not in the Sky Jade Realm right now, and Pang Hong will immediately know if I kill that guy, which will bring trouble to Huaʼer and the others if he and the Pang Clan attack them.

Thatʼs why I deliberately delayed it, but I will immediately do something about him after I go back there, so I can protect them if those evil cultivators want to do something bad to them.ʼ

Since his mother and the others were still sleeping, Zhang Fei decided to practice some of his other techniques, such as the Clone Illusion Steps and the Nine Cloud Steps.
