Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 159: Take Zhao Ziqin Away

Yan Huanʼer hugged Xing Mei, who kept crying over her sonʼs death, and she felt guilty towards her because Gu Zhanʼs death was caused by her daughter. Unfortunately, everything has already happened, and he doesnʼt have the power to turn back time.

Xing Mei continued to cry, and her crying became louder and louder. ”Sob... my Zhanʼer is no longer by my side, Sister Huanʼer! What should I do now? Sob... how can I tell my husband that our son is dead now?”

”Sister Mei, I really want to apologize to you, especially since this matter happened because of us.” Yan Huanʼer replied with a heavy sigh. ”As for your husband, I know that you must inform him of Zhanʼerʼs death, but I hope you are willing to wait for Brother Tong to return first.

They are currently traveling to the northern region to fortify the seal on the demon portal, as failure to do so could result in its destruction and the re-invasion of our realm by demons from other realms.

Although she was deeply saddened by her sonʼs death, Xing Mei herself realized the gravity of the matter, so she did not immediately contact Gu Tong for the sake of many peopleʼs future. ”Sob... If only Zhanʼer hadnʼt attacked Lianʼer, he wouldnʼt have died at the hands of that divine beast. Moreover, that divine beast swallowed him alive, and I canʼt give him a proper burial.”

As she hugged Xing Mei tighter, Yan Huanʼer spoke to her in a regretful tone. ”Lianʼer was the one in the wrong in this matter, and Zhanʼer wouldnʼt have attacked her if she hadnʼt revealed her relationship with Zhang Fei to him.”

”No.” Xing Mei shook her head at Yan Huanʼer. ”I donʼt blame Lianʼer because I am a woman myself, so I understand her anger and disappointment towards Zhanʼer, and I would definitely do the same if my husband cheated on me repeatedly. Furthermore, despite her repeated reminders, he refused to listen and continued his affair.

Not only her, but Yan Huanʼer herself would also do the same if her husband dared to cheat on her with multiple women. ”For the time being, I will stay here to accompany you, Sister Mei.”

”All right.”

Meanwhile, Ye Lian didnʼt return to her clan but went to the Chu Clan instead, and her expression was still filled with regret and guilt over Gu Zhanʼs death. ʼSigh, Iʼm such a fool! I should have more control over myself, and if I could, this incident would not have happened.ʼ

”Lianʼer?” Ye Lian immediately turned to Liu Hua, who was approaching her. ”What happened to you? Why is your expression like that?”

Ye Lian hugged Liu Hua and sobbed, confusing her with her strange attitude, especially since she was previously fine when she returned from Earth. She explained everything to her right away, including Zhang Feiʼs decision not to spare Gu Zhan.

Liu Hua let out a soft sigh and hugged Ye Lian. ”Honestly, you donʼt need to blame yourself, and we both know that Gu Zhan is indeed arrogant and an idiot. He always acts without thinking about the consequences, so his death was his own fault.”

”But-”

”All right, you donʼt need to think too much about this matter; we are cultivators, and we have to be responsible for our own lives. Moreover, there are always consequences for all our actions, and Gu Zhan has already borne the consequences for his rash actions.” Ye Lian fell silent after hearing that, and Liu Hua then spoke to her again.

”I fully support Feiʼerʼs decision, especially since you are his future wife, so itʼs natural that he wouldnʼt be willing to spare the person who tried to kill you. If I were in his position, I would definitely take the same decision.”

Ye Lian sighed softly and released her hug from Liu Hua before wiping her tears. ”Where is Fei now?”

Liu Hua grabbed Ye Lianʼs hand and took her away. ”Fei was strolling around the city with Zhao Ziqin, but someone disturbed their time together, so we will follow them from a distance.”

”Zhao Ziqin?” Ye Lian was really surprised after hearing the name. ”How could Fei approach her? She always closed herself off due to her introverted character, and she always felt uncomfortable around many people.”

”Haha.” Liu Hua laughed and turned to Ye Lian. ”You still donʼt understand your future husbandʼs character well, huh? Have you forgotten what he did to you when you two first met? If he hadnʼt acted aggressively with you, you wouldnʼt have fallen into his arms this quickly, right? Zhao Ziqin may be an introverted girl, but he definitely has a way to approach her.”

”Well, thatʼs true.” Ye Lian nodded in agreement. ”Fei is truly aggressive when he wants to get something, and I was really shocked by his attitude. However, he treated me so gently, and he could also understand my feelings, even though we had just met for the first time.

Besides, I was too disappointed in Gu Zhan at that time, so he could enter and carve his figure in my heart, and I decided to accept him.”

”Judging from Zhao Ziqinʼs character, Iʼm sure that sheʼs fallen for Feiʼer now, and sheʼll probably become our sister soon.” Following his statement, Liu Huaʼs expression took on a serious tone, which initially confused Ye Lian, and she told her. ”The man who is with them now is Xuan Yu, and his Xuan Clan lives in the Central Region, so they must be powerful.

He told me that Hua Jingtian wants to marry his granddaughter to him in order to strengthen the relationship between their two clans, and their wedding will take place in a month.”

Ye Lian released a heavy sigh, especially since many clans have always used their descendants as tools for their clanʼs interests. Thatʼs why she felt lucky to have her parents, especially since they never imposed their will on her and always followed her wishes instead. ”What do you think would happen if Xuan Yu knew about Feiʼs relationship with Zhao Ziqin?”

”I-”

”Hey! Iʼm back!” Liu Hua and Ye Lian promptly turned towards the voice, and Zhang Lingxue swiftly approached them before posing a question. ”Do you guys intend to follow Feiʼer?”

”Yes.” Liu Hua then said to her. ”Fotunately, you have returned, so you can help Feiʼer get rid of that Xuan Yu.”

”Haha.” That made Zhang Lingxue laugh. ”Feiʼer contacted me before and told me about that brat from the Xuan Clan, but you guys donʼt need to mind him, and he wouldnʼt dare mess with him if he knew that I was his woman.”

”Just how strong is the Xuan Clan, Aunt Lingxue?”

Zhang Lingxue immediately turned to Ye Lian. ”In fact, there is not a single clan in other regions that can fight the Xuan Clan, including the Liu Clan. However, they are no different from the other minor clans in the central region, and they still need my Zhang Clanʼs help to be able to exist there, so that brat will definitely back off if he finds out about our relationship.”

”Even a minor clan in the central region is so strong, huh?” Ye Lian muttered to herself upon hearing that. ”Doesnʼt that mean that all the major clans in the central region are too strong for us?”

”Thatʼs for sure.” Zhang Lingxue spoke while proudly puffing out her chest. ”There are only five major clans in the central region: the Chang, Di, Feng, Lan, and my Zhang Clan. Out of the five clans, the Chang Clan is the strongest, and my clan is the second strongest.

Aside from us, there is the Moon Fox tribe, but they live in a separate subspace and donʼt like to interfere in outside affairs, especially since they donʼt like humans. Thatʼs why very few people can have relations with them; my father, Zhang Long, and Aunt Chang Wuhen were some of the people who had a relationship with them.”

”Did you know that Feiʼer has a relationship with the Moon Fox?” Zhang Lingxue immediately turned to Liu Hua in shock, especially since Zhang Fei had never been to the Central Region before. ”She met Hu Yue by chance, and they had been intimate before, so she is our sister. A few days ago, Hu Lili came here on behalf of her daughter, and she gave him the key to enter their subspace.”

”Thatʼs insane! Hu Lili is one of the Moon Fox raceʼs top officials! I didnʼt expect that Feiʼer had that kind of relationship with her daughter.” Zhang Lingxue expressed her shock and amazement, especially since no human had ever had such a relationship with the Moon Fox race before. However, she sighed as she remembered something. ”Sigh.

I just remembered that Feiʼer is a cunning fox, so I shouldnʼt be surprised if he can attract the heart of a female fox of that race.”

”Moreover, Feiʼer is not an ordinary fox; he is a Heavenly Fox, which is the strongest of all fox races.” Zhang Lingxue wore a confused look after she heard Liu Huaʼs words, especially since she didnʼt know much about the fox races. ”Like you, I also donʼt know for sure about it, but Hu Lili told me about it, so I think itʼs true.”

”Aunts, do you think Feiʼer will also seduce Hu Lili?”

”Thatʼs possible.” They answered Ye Lian at the same time, but Zhang Lingxue suddenly pointed in a certain direction. ”Theyʼre over there.”

After they looked in that direction, Ye Lian said to Liu Hua. ”Now, I understand how Fei approached Zhao Ziqin. Look at her; her expression clearly shows that she likes his fox form so much, and he must have used it to seduce her.”

”Thatʼs true.” Liu Huaʼs gaze then turned to Xuan Yu, who looked very annoyed, especially since Zhao Ziqin kept ignoring him and was more focused on playing with Zhang Fei. ”Shall we meet them now?”

”Letʼs go then.”

”Ziqin, you-” Once Zhang Lingxue landed in front of them, Xuan Yu didnʼt continue his words, and he instinctively took a step back before greeting her with cupped hands. ”I pay my respects to Young Miss Zhang.”

However, Zhang Lingxue paid him no heed and turned to Zhang Fei with a strange smile, causing him to raise his eyebrows. ”Zhao Ziqin, right?”

”Huh?” Zhao Ziqin was surprised that Zhang Lingxue knew her, but she was sure that they had never met before. ”Who are you, Big Sister? How do you know me?”

”I am the owner of that fox.” Zhang Lingxue replied, pointing her finger at Zhang Fei. ”Aside from that, I know Huan Ning quite well, but she probably hates me so much now, especially after the problems between us in the past.”

Zhang Fei shook his head slightly after hearing that. ʼYou dare say that you are my owner, huh? Iʼll definitely teach you a lesson later!ʼ

”Eh?” Zhao Ziqin was even more shocked by Zhang Lingxueʼs confession. ”How can you possibly be Feiʼs owner, Big Sis? I found him lost in my clan, so I took him in as my pet.”

”Pft!” Liu Hua and Ye Lian burst into laughter because of Zhao Ziqinʼs answer, and they glanced at Zhang Fei while smiling strangely, making him feel irritated by their behavior.

Zhang Lingxue then took Zhao Ziqinʼs hand. ”Come with me! You donʼt need to care about this brat from the Xuan Clan; I will protect you if your mother dares to punish you for abandoning him.”

After Zhang Lingxue and the others took Zhao Ziqin away with them, Xuan Yuʼs expression became completely gloomy. ”Damn it! I didnʼt expect to meet that vicious woman in this region, and she intends to protect that stupid girl!”

After that, Xuan Yu contacted his grandfather directly and informed him about Zhang Lingxue and Zhao Ziqin, but he did not give him an answer straight away, so he decided to return to the Zhao Clan while waiting for his instructions.
