Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 158: Gu Zhanʼs Death

Yan Huanʼer sighed softly before turning to ask Gu Zhan. ”Shouldnʼt you already know the reason, Zhanʼer? You were Lianʼerʼs fiancé, but you cheated on her by having a relationship with some of your sect sisters. Moreover, she has warned you repeatedly to stop your lascivious nature, but you always ignore her warnings, so itʼs natural that she wants to cancel her engagement with you, right?”

”I-”

”Heh! Arenʼt you going to deny that?” Ye Lian shook her head, then pulled out a storage ring that held the items Gu Zhan had given her. ”Since you prioritize your lust and enjoy your time with those women more, I decided to let you go because I donʼt want to have a treacherous husband.”

*Swoosh*

Gu Zhan immediately caught the storage ring Ye Lian threw as he continued to glare fiercely at her, but he quickly released his cultivation and crushed it.

Seeing that, Xing Mei grabbed her sonʼs hand and asked him to return the things Ye Lian had given him, and Gu Zha reluctantly complied with his motherʼs request.

Like her ex-fiancé, Ye Lian also destroyed the storage ring because she no longer wanted to keep her old memories with him, especially since she had already made a decision about her future.

”This way, our engagement is over, and we wonʼt have any more relationships after this, so I hope you donʼt bother me again in the future, especially since I have already found the man who will be my husband in the future.”

Yan Huanʼer was shocked to hear her daughterʼs words, as she didnʼt expect Ye Lian to reveal her relationship with Zhang Fei. As expected, Xing Mei was shocked by her revelation, but Gu Zhanʼs anger boiled after hearing that, and his facial muscles bulged. ”Tell me! You deliberately broke off our engagement because you slept with him, right? Who is that man?

I will definitely kill him because he stole you from me.”

”So what?” Ye Lian replied with an indifferent shrug. ”You can sleep with those women; then why canʼt I sleep with another man? Moreover, he is much better than you because he didnʼt lie or cheat on me, and he explained everything before I decided to accept him.”

”You-”

”Do you think you can kill him? Have you forgotten the lesson he gave you when we hunted the fire flower in Blazing Volcano Mountain?” Ye Lian decided to interrupt her ex-fiancé, and Gu Zhanʼs body stiffened after hearing that. ”Thatʼs right; my future husband is Zhang Fei, and you should remember the identities of the people by his side.

Thatʼs why you should forget about wanting to kill him; you will never be able to do it.”

Gu Zhanʼs expression turned even uglier after remembering the events of that day, and his hands gripped the arms of the chair he was sitting on, especially since he remembered Liu Huaʼs presence by Zhang Feiʼs side.

Xing Mei, who had not said anything before, decided to ask Yan Huanʼer. ”Who exactly is Zhang Fei? Is he a member of the Zhang Clan in the Central Region?”

”No.” Yan Huanʼer shook her head at Xing Mei. ”Honestly, I have never met Zhang Fei in person; he is not a member of that clan, and he comes from another region.”

”Another region?” Xing Mei often traveled to various regions, but she had never heard of the existence of another Zhang Clan, so she felt confused about it.

Yan Huanʼer responded with a nod before telling her again. ”Moreover, he is a member of the Liu and Chu Clans now, mainly because he is married to Liu Hua, Chu Qing, and Chu Ying.”

”What?” After listening to Yan Huanʼerʼs answer, Gu Zhan was also as shocked as his mother, and Xing Mei asked her again. ”Are you serious about that? I already knew about Liu Huaʼs return, but I never heard that he was married, let alone the marriage of those two little girls from the Chu Clan.”

”They married Zhang Fei a few days ago, but they only had a traditional wedding.” Xing Mei immediately turned to Ye Lian and looked at her in confusion. ”Like I said before, I already knew about their relationship before I knew him, and he didnʼt hide everything from me either.

At first, I found it hard to accept his polygamous relationship, so I decided to spend a few days with him, and he is different from your son, who repeatedly lied and cheated on me.”

Xing Meng couldnʼt help but sigh, especially since she always dreamed of Ye Lian as her daughter-in-law. But she was aware that her son had changed a lot since he became a core disciple in the Heavenly Sword Sect.

”Even though you are no longer Zhanʼerʼs fiancée, our clans have been on good terms for a long time, and you are also like my own daughter, so I hope you will still come here to visit me in the future.”

”Thatʼs for sure, Aunt Mei.” Yan Huanʼer then followed Ye Lian as she stood up. ”Now that we have resolved everything, we will head back to our clan.”

After that, they immediately walked out of the Gu Clanʼs main hall. However, Gu Zhan, whose heart was boiling with anger, suddenly mustered his Qi and took out his sword before moving to attack Ye Lian from behind.

”Zhanʼer!” Xing Mei screamed in shock, as she was truly shocked to see her son attack Ye Lian from behind.

Ye Lian and her mother looked back at her after hearing her shout, but Gu Zhanʼs sword was already so close to her that she didnʼt have time to dodge it.

Fortunately, Boitata had already slid from Ye Lianʼs arms to attack Gu Zhan before his sword hit her body, and he immediately returned to his original form after blowing him away.

”Guah!” Gu Zhan was flown far away before his body slammed hard against the wall.

*Crumble... Crumble...*

Since Boitataʼs body continued to enlarge, the Gu clanʼs main hall instantly collapsed due to her size as soon as her body stood upright.

Xing Mei, who was shocked to see Boitataʼs appearance, immediately jumped in front of her son to protect him from her. However, she was horrified to see all the eyes on her body glaring at her, especially the two fiery eyes on her head, and the contour of her face changed after she sensed her cultivation level. ʼSigh, the situation is really bad.

This beast is a divine beast, and her cultivation is at 10-Star Heaven Realm, and I wonʼt possibly win against her with my cultivation still at 2-Star Earth Realm.ʼ

As soon as Boitata glanced at Gu Zhan, his expression turned completely pale, and pee immediately soaked his trousers. Still fresh in his memory was the horror when he witnessed her fighting against Zhang Lingxue and the others at Blazing Volcano Mountain, and they were defeated by her. ʼFuck! Iʼm dead! I didnʼt expect that bastard would give this fucking snake to Ye Lian!ʼ

Yan Huanʼer also pulled her daughter away, but Ye Lian immediately shouted at Boitata. ”Please! Donʼt kill him!”

”No.” As she swung her tail towards Xing Mei, Boitata rejected Ye Lianʼs request, sending her slamming into the wall before falling further to the ground. Instantly, she spat out a mouthful of blood, and she could feel that her internal injuries were extremely serious. ”My master ordered me to kill anyone who has evil intentions towards you, so I have to kill this idiot brat.”

”But-”

”If you want to save him, you can contact my master now, and if he agrees to that, I wonʼt kill him.”

Hearing that, Ye Lian immediately contacted Zhang Fei, but his reaction was as she expected, and he didnʼt care if Gu Zhan died, especially since he had already tried to kill her.

”How is the result?” Ye Lian shook her head at Yan Huanʼer, causing her to sigh helplessly, especially since her own cultivation was still in the 3-Star Earth realm, so there was no way she could save Gu Zhan from Boitata. ʼSigh. I didnʼt expect the situation to turn out like this, and Zhanʼer was truly stupid for trying to kill Lianʼer.ʼ

”Hiss~” Boitata angrily gazed at Gu Zhan, recalling that he had previously tried to steal the Fire Yang Flower from her. Now, he was trying to kill her masterʼs woman. Immediately, she curled the tip of her tail around his body and lifted him up to her face. ”Hiss~ You imbecile! You tried to kill my masterʼs woman, so you must die!”

”No!” When she saw Boitata swallow her son alive, Xing Meng screamed desperately, and tears flowed freely from the corners of her eyes, especially since Gu Zhan was her only son. ”Why... why did things have to turn out like this? Why are you not willing to spare my son?”

”Hiss~” Instead, Boitata disdainfully looked at Xing Mei. ”Your sonʼs death was his own fault! My master will never spare anyone who dares to do bad things to those closest to him. If you are so sad about his death, I can send you to the afterlife to accompany him there.”

”No!” Both women shouted as they moved in front of Xing Mei, and Ye Lian immediately begged the snake. ”Please donʼt kill her, Boitata. Aunt Mei didnʼt do anything wrong to me, so you shouldnʼt kill her.”

”Lianʼer is right, Boitata.” Yan Huanʼer also tried to persuade her. ”Sister Mei loves her very much, and she has always treated her like her own daughter, so I hope you are willing to let her go.”

Compared to both women, Botitata has lived for more than a thousand years, and she is very experienced in human character. Thatʼs why she didnʼt immediately agree to their request, especially since she thought that there was a possibility that Xing Mei would take revenge for her sonʼs death against Ye Lian.

She thought of the best plan to protect her, or else Zhang Fei would blame her if something bad happened to her.

After she thought about it for a while, Boitata suddenly spewed her flame, and a small flame serpent similar to her quickly moved into Xing Meiʼs body through her mouth, shocking the three women, so she explained to Ye Lian. ”I would let her go, but I couldnʼt let her go just like that, and I was forced to do that for her to protect you, especially since human hearts are hard to predict.

At times, they may be allies, yet they can swiftly transform into adversaries without warning. As long as she doesnʼt have any evil intentions towards you, then it wonʼt activate, but vice versa, and it will immediately destroy her internal organs.”

After she said that, Boitataʼs body quickly shrank to the size of a normal snake, and she immediately coiled around Ye Lianʼs arms again.

Even though Boitata had done such a thing to Xing Mei, Ye Lian and Yan Huanʼer felt relieved, especially since she was at least still alive.

”Lianʼer, you go back to the clan first, and I will accompany Sister Mei.” Yan Huanʼer spoke as she picked up Xing Mei, who looked devastated by her situation and her sonʼs death, and immediately ushered her away to her room.

Ye Lian sighed heavily before leaving the Gu Clan, but her feelings were filled with guilt over the terrible incident that happened to Xing Mei, and she blamed herself for disclosing her relationship with Zhang Fei. If she had not done that, Gu Zhan might not have attacked her, and he might not have died in Boitataʼs hands.
