Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1337: Chapter 1338: Further Expansion of Company Operations

Looking back, Cheng Su saw Ning Ge like usual, and concluded that she was mistaken, choosing not to dwell on it further. She focused wholeheartedly on planning the expansion of the company.

She still had her studies to attend to, so she could only strive to finish her academic work and then carve out time to complete this task. The draft of the planning documents was already detailed; they just needed some polishing and, after receiving approval from Ning Ge and Cheng Yaozu, the two shareholders, they began execution step by step according to the plan.

The first step was factory expansion. Cheng Su navigated through contacts to reach the official responsible for the area near the factory, hinting at their company’s interest in acquiring the land and checking if the government would step in for the acquisition.

Cheng Su knew that her company couldn’t buy the land directly from the villagers bit by bit. The government had to first handle the expropriation before they could negotiate prices with the government. How much money the villagers ultimately got was a matter between them and the government. It wasn’t that she was cold or cunning, but she understood the country’s situation; these unwritten rules were prevalent.

Therefore, Cheng Su directly hinted to the government, of course, to avoid the other party asking for an exorbitant amount. She also worked on some connections to make a call. The authorities were encouraging investment and had no reason to hinder industrial development, as it boosts a city’s economic growth.

At that time, people didn’t consider the long-term value of the land or future development; they only thought about getting money from the expropriation. Cheng Su this intention revealed, and the government immediately started showing interest.

After several meetings, Cheng Su’s company had preliminary negotiations with the government about the size of the land and the purchase price. It took many back-and-forth negotiations to finally settle on the lowest price.

Soon after, Cheng Su heard from the factory employees that a public announcement had been posted in the village opposite the factory, stating that land expropriation would occur. After the village meeting, they also knew roughly how much the villagers would share.

Upon learning the price, Cheng Su couldn’t help but sigh, as the gap was too large. But seeing their happy faces, Cheng Su felt like a bit of a cunning merchant.

Ning Ge, after understanding the situation, remarked that she was being sentimental. It wasn’t them who were cunning merchants; they had given enough money for what the land was worth. If anyone was to be called cunning, it should be the government.

Cheng Su felt a bit embarrassed but soon gathered her emotions and quickly signed the acquisition contract with the government.

With the land in hand, there was still expansion needed, which required a significant sum of money. Although Cheng Yaozu had sent a sizable remittance, having just paid for the land purchase, now with the construction costs, Cheng Su felt a headache at the numbers being quoted. Everything, from future workshop equipment onwards, required money, and this amount really didn’t go far.

Therefore, opening new financial avenues quickly was necessary; funds needed to circulate rapidly to enable operations. After several shareholder discussions, they decided to expand the distribution network in Guangcheng, establishing a regional branch, aiming to quickly penetrate the southern market.

The distribution point already had the initial formation of a branch company. They recruited personnel, established a complete team, and selected a day for the official opening. Since it was a branch company, finances and other aspects should be independent, and Wang Bo was already handling matters there. Cheng Su thought of Ning Ge’s suggestion and decided to ask Ying Xiaoya whether she wanted to develop in Guangcheng.

”What are you saying? Let me go to Guangcheng?” Ying Xiaoya was momentarily stunned upon hearing Cheng Su’s words.
