Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1329: Chapter 1330: Plans Can’t Keep Up with Changes

According to Cheng Su’s original plan, she would send Qi Jianguo off to Guangcheng for his studies and also pay a visit to Old Master Cheng, but as luck would have it, she started running a fever the night she returned home, proving that plans couldn’t keep up with changes.

”How come you suddenly have a fever?” Qi Taiguo was quite anxious, giving her medicine and using a cold towel to cool her forehead, his brows full of concern.

Cheng Su felt weak all over, and said feebly, ”I guess those ten days back home exhausted me, with so many things to do and a pent-up energy. Once that energy was released, the illness came!”

Qi Taiguo was a bit annoyed, saying, ”I should have brought you back with me earlier.”

Cheng Su said, ”It’s okay, just a slight fever, nothing to get so worked up about. But about my little uncle, I’m afraid I can’t send him over there now.”

”He’s a grown man now; he should go out and gain some experience on his own. He still needs someone to hold his hand? Let him go by himself!” Qi Taiguo said irritably, ”A real man, even if he falls while walking, should know how to get up on his own!”

Cheng Su then said, ”Okay, he can go on his own. I should still give Cheng Yaozu a heads up and ask him to help in receiving him, or else Jianguo, who’s never been far from home, won’t know how to find his way. Guangcheng is quite big!”

Qi Taiguo nodded: ”Just make the call, then rest, and don’t worry about the affairs in the shop!”

Cheng Su nodded.

Qi Jianguo knew he had to hit the road alone, and he felt a bit nervous, mixed with a bit of anticipation and excitement.

It’s his first time traveling far from home, just as his brother said, it’s time to learn how to walk and broaden his horizons!

Cheng Su made a phone call to the Cheng family.

Old Master Cheng hadn’t spoken with her in ages, but when he heard it was her calling, he eagerly grabbed the phone, only to hear Cheng Su’s voice and furrow his brows: ”Girl, are you sick?”

”I have a bit of a fever!” Cheng Su’s voice was slightly hoarse, she said, ”I have a little uncle who got into Z University in Guangcheng and is preparing to report in the next few days. I was thinking of taking this opportunity to send him over and also visit you, but then I fell ill unexpectedly.”

Old Master Cheng immediately said, ”Your health is more important, there’s always time for meetings in the future. With the autumn season change over there, young people tend to get sick easily; take care to stay warm.”

Hearing the old master’s words of concern warmed Cheng Su’s heart: ”I know, and you too, don’t catch a chill, exercise more and drink things that nourish the lungs, and don’t drink too much!”

Old Master Cheng chuckled: ”You cheeky girl, even while sick, you won’t miss a chance to tease this old man!”

Cheng Su also laughed.

”Alright, since you’re under the weather, you should rest more. What’s your little uncle’s name? I will send someone to pick him up and take him to school, don’t worry.” Old Master Cheng said, ”When you get better, find some time to bring your loved one over to meet me.”

Cheng Su agreed and mentioned Qi Jianguo’s name, became a little reluctant to hang up the phone.

Qi Jianguo listened silently as she made the call, marveling at the conversation.

”When you get there, someone will hold up a sign to pick you up. Keep an eye out and keep your money close; there are many thieves, and security isn’t great, so be vigilant... cough cough.” Cheng Su didn’t forget to give her little uncle some last-minute advice.

Qi Jianguo said, ”Sister-in-law, I know, I will be careful. You should stop talking and get some rest!”

Cheng Su nodded, instructing him to cook something casually before he left, while she lay back down on the bed and drifted into a deep sleep.
