Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1315: Chapter 1316: Damaging One’s Karma

Qi Taiguo thought the same as Cheng Su; upon hearing the whole story, he had already formed an image of that Zhou Qiang: cunning and calculating, shameless and irresponsible, morally corrupt. Marrying such a person would bring no benefit.

The couple exchanged a glance and saw the disagreement in each other’s eyes.

Mother Qi came in with a steaming hot bowl of soup, exuding the aroma of eggs and ginger scallion.

Cheng Su stepped forward to take it, placed it on the Eight Immortals Table, and called Qi Taiguo over: ”You should eat something first, you must be hungry!”

Qi Taiguo was indeed hungry. He walked over, picked up the chopsticks, and began eating. Mother Qi watched him wolf down the food, feeling pained, and repeatedly said, ”Eat slowly, don’t choke.”

However, having been in the military for a long time, Qi Taiguo was accustomed to valuing time, so he ate quickly. In just a short moment, he had already finished a large bowl of egg soup and rice.

Seeing her son eat with such appetite, Mother Qi was very pleased and asked, ”Is it enough, do you want me to make another bowl?”

”It’s enough, it’s already this late, eating too much will cause indigestion.” Qi Taiguo smiled, pushing the bowl away.

Mother Qi asked a couple more times, only stopping after confirming he was truly full.

Cheng Su watched on with amusement, thinking that indeed, a mother always has her child in her heart, and nothing is better than her own son.

”Dad, let me handle this matter. Tomorrow, I will go find that Zhou Qiang again. If he doesn’t come up with an explanation, is he really going to go against our Qi family to the end?” Qi Taiguo said with a flash of ruthlessness in his eyes.

Father Qi nodded.

”As for Fengping...” Qi Taiguo’s face darkened, ”Before things get out, Flower County is small. Go to Qing City, make an appointment at a hospital, and have that child taken care of!”

”What? Take care of it?” Mother Qi shuddered, ”It’s already so big. This is an act that harms moral virtue. You two are also planning to have children at this time. I do not agree!”

A four- or five-month-old fetus, with its hands and feet all developed, is already formed. It’s not a simple abortion; it’s an induction, which can harm the mother’s body, to say nothing of it being a life. Getting rid of it would harm moral virtue and bring misfortune to the household.

Mother Qi, being a believer in Buddhism and the Bodhisattva, would not want to see such an act that harms moral virtue happen in her family, fearing retribution, especially at a time when Cheng Su and her husband are planning to have children, in case...

Mother Qi shivered once more, ”No, this won’t do.”

Cheng Su fell silent, pursing her lips.

Qi Taiguo said, ”Mom, that Zhou Qiang is not a good man and not someone you can marry. Not to mention, he’s already married. If the child isn’t aborted, should it be born instead? How would Fengping get married in the future?” He gritted his teeth, ”Better a short pain than a long one; it’s better to endure the pain now and carefully recover. Later, she can still marry and have children.”

He also knew that it harmed moral virtue, but in terms of reality, it seemed to be the best solution.

”That will bring retribution!” Mother Qi wept, ”You already lost a child before, and now Fengping... If the Qi family keeps losing descendants, what will happen in the future? You don’t even have a child yet!”

Qi Taiguo and Cheng Su’s hearts skipped a beat as they exchanged a glance. They’ve been trying for months, but still nothing...

Cheng Su turned her eyes away, her hands cold, and her fingers trembling slightly, when suddenly, a warmth spread to her hand; it was Qi Taiguo grasping her hand, offering comfort.

”Even if it’s retribution, it’s the Zhou family that deserves it. It’s their child!” Qi Taiguo gritted his teeth, ”Mom, Dad, we have to think about Fengping’s future!”
