Summoners: One Golden Term per Level

”Bang!”

Cerberus was punched to the ground, and it dared not resist, only whimpered in pain, looking at the figure embraced by the phantoms of Artemis and Athena.

It felt the power from the two Main Gods.

Cerberus no longer dared to entertain any other thoughts. Who on earth is this guy, with so many divine blessings?

Shen Fei reopened his eyes, ”The distance to becoming a Main God... feels so far away!”

Aphrodite glanced at Shen Fei and said indifferently, ”If becoming a Main God was really that easy, there wouldn’t have been no new Main God for so many years.

The positions of the Twelve Main Gods have only changed once over the years.”

”Without Zeus’s approval, it’s almost impossible to become a Main God. There’s only one way for you to become a Main God, find a God King Level existence and have them grant you a portion of the Heaven and Earth Power.”

”Heaven and Earth Power?”

Shen Fei raised an eyebrow, this was a new piece of knowledge.

So it turns out that only a Divine King can designate a Main God. It’s no wonder that in the Greek World, both humans and deities pursue extreme enjoyment, sometimes resulting in some laughably absurd situations.

But as it seems currently.

It’s as if the path of advancement is completely blocked, so sometimes when there’s no way to become a Main God, they just start indulging in entertainment.

Of course, there are still those Divine Spirits willing to work hard.

”Chronos can also do it, my Main God rank is derived from Chronos,” said Aphrodite.

This indeed made Shen Fei feel the difficulty of this task is really absurd.

If it weren’t for Chronos being Chi You, completing the task to stop Artemis, who knows how long it would take here.

”First, immerse in the Nether River, then start!”

”Nether River...”

With the guidance of the Saintess, they quickly found the Nether River.

There are five rivers connecting the Netherworld: the Acheron River, Cocytus River, Flegras River, Styx River, and Lete River.

According to the normal sequence, the dead need to pass through the Acheron River, Cocytus River, Flegras River, Styx River, and Lete River in order to finally reach the Truth Garden.

During this journey, spirits grieve at the Acheron River for their inability to accept death.

They lament memories at the Cocytus River, then undergo soul purification in the Flegras fiery river, and ride Charon’s boat across the Styx River.

Finally, they drink the water of the Lete River to forget their past life and step into the [Truth Garden].

There, three judges, Rhadamanthus, Minos, and Aegus, decide where the soul should go:

Those who were good and morally upright will be allowed into the Land of Ultimate Bliss, Elysium;

Those who were evil must be cast into the hell designated for imprisoning and punishing the wicked, to suffer severe punishment, Tartarus Hell.

Most souls who were neither greatly good nor bad are left in this plain filled with daffodils, wandering aimlessly or perhaps welcoming future reincarnation.

”So where in the Nether River should be immersed?”

Only now did Shen Fei realize there were five Nether Rivers; these Western deities have complicated procedures to seem fair.

But extremely troublesome.

Why not just merge them into one river?

And which river did Artemis mean by the Nether River?

”In those days, Achilles immersed in the Styx; although he had Divine Spirit’s bloodline, the Nether River is not something an ordinary person can withstand. Immersing in one river to possess an invulnerable body is sufficient.”

”If you can withstand it, you can immerse in all five rivers, but the consequences are not guaranteed,” Aphrodite said.

Of course, he knew of Achilles, that demigod.

His mother was Thetis.

”But since you possess the Ocean Pantheon’s divine authority, your resistance to the Nether River should be much stronger than Achilles, you should be able to immerse in all five Nether Rivers.”

Why did Thetis have Achilles immersed? Because Thetis was the Sea Goddess.

Achilles could be considered to have some Sea God lineage, but even so, Thetis had to hold onto Achilles’s heel.

Otherwise, he would directly drown if he fell in.

Even Thetis couldn’t save him.

Because even Divine Spirits falling into the Nether River must feel like ordinary people.

”Don’t worry, I’m here,”

said the Saintess peacefully.

...

A surging river appeared before everyone.

The dark and eerie waters of the Nether River roiled fiercely, and the changing aura of death depicted twisted and howling faces.

These are the souls of creatures that died in the Mortal World, and this is the Nether River closest to the Mortal World.

In the distance.

An old little boat swayed, seeming to want to come closer upon sensing figures on the shore, but when it reached a certain distance,

the old little boat naturally drifted away, and Charon aboard wiped the cold sweat that shouldn’t have been on his forehead.

Damn.

What a presence, he actually saw Hecate and Aphrodite, Aphrodite being present anywhere in the world is fine.

But Hecate...

Hasn’t been seen for a long time, right?

Katte knew there was definitely an issue, but this involved Main Gods, and he couldn’t meddle.

Regardless of rebellion or world turmoil, he was the Nether River Crossing God, a rank and divine authority granted by Nix.

Even a Divine King couldn’t take that away.

Besides, it’s not like there’s constant rebellion, the Greek gods are all benevolent, no malevolent gods!

As for Shen Fei, he merely glanced at the newcomer and plunged straight into the Nether River.

The next moment, the resentful spirits in the river chased after the lively scent, madly swarming towards the submerged Shen Fei.

The pitch-black river was eerily silent, suffocating. Shen Fei felt an ancient will scrutinizing his soul, a massive chain-dragging sound from the riverbed: ”Swear an oath... or become the 479,632nd divine remains on the riverbed...”

Shen Fei was already prepared and said, ”I will bury Ares!”

As he uttered this vow, his skin was suddenly covered in scale-like silver patterns, his nails extending into sharp hooks, and a serpent coiling around a broken long spear surfaced on his chest, the Nether River’s recognized ”Immortal Mark.”

At this moment, he became as invulnerable as Achilles, without any weaknesses.

Yet the power of the Nether River continued wrapping around Shen Fei’s body, trying to drag him to the riverbed, this being the second trial.

If he couldn’t walk out of the Nether River, he’d remain there forever.

But Shen Fei had the ”Tsunami” divine authority, forcibly stabilizing himself from being pulled down.

The reason Achilles retained the heel weakness is that even Thetis couldn’t pull Achilles out of the Nether River once in.

But here was the Saintess, who directly entered the Nether River, and those resentful spirits retreated as if facing their nemesis.

She pulled Shen Fei out of the Nether River.

”Not bad.”

Shen Fei wiped the water off his face; immersing in the Nether River was indeed dangerous, no wonder there were so few willing to try it despite it being a method to gain power.
