Chapter 941: A glimmer of hope

In a matter of minutes, most of the city of Istel was shackled by a thick layer of ice.

Satisfied with her success, Arabelʼs avatar opened an Access Portal in front of her, from which a blonde beauty appeared.

”Aliya,” — Arabel greeted her.

”Leader,” — Aliya nodded in response.

Knowing what her main body was up to, after plotting the avatar, Arabel waited for Aliya to appear.

Idanʼs actions in the city of Redclay and the impressive effectiveness of Lucindaʼs Element of Light in dealing with refugees did not go unnoticed by Arabel.

Now that they had begun their activities not only in the North and East, but also in the South and West of the Federation, where the situation was much more difficult, Arabel realized the importance of the Element of Light.

She understood that in this place, where peopleʼs hope of salvation was fading by the hour, the power and significance of the Element of Light would be especially effective.

Her husband, Idan, had an affinity for the Element of Light that Arabel herself did not possess.

After some consideration, she decided to involve Aliya. To do this, she first had to transfer her from Limbo to Earth, using the ”Living Room” of their family home and spending 1,000 System Points.

Activating [Ice Creation – Level 4], she created a high ice platform and then turned to Aliya.:

”Okay, get on the platform and get down to business, Aliya.”

With a small sigh, Aliya used her Soul Force to climb onto the ice platform. Taking a pose of prayer, she radiated the radiance of the Element of Light, illuminating the frozen city immersed in darkness.

The bright light she radiated became a beacon of hope for the residents of the city. One by one, they left their hiding places and rushed to the light in search of salvation, which the heavenly voice told them about.

The appearance of many people walking on the ice could not go unnoticed by the predators that lurked in the dark depths.

The predators, wanting to enjoy the abundance of prey, began to break through the ice under peopleʼs feet and climb to the surface one by one.

As the creator of the ice sheet that covered most of the city, Arabel couldnʼt help but notice how the predators were destroying her creation.

Enraged, she spread her snow-white wings and soared into the sky. And at that moment, a deadly arrow rained down from the sky on the first predator that appeared on the surface. It stabbed straight into the beastʼs head, instantly taking its life.

The first arrow was followed by the second, third and fourth, and each of them found its target, sending predators who dared to come to the surface to the next world.

At the same time, Arabel was pleasantly surprised to see the coordinated actions of the members of the Titan Guild. They quickly began helping the refugees and at the same time searched for survivors, combing the city.

Following the trajectory of the arrows, Arabel saw a woman with huge eagle wings high in the sky. She pulled the string of a huge bow and released a deadly arrow that hit the target, taking the life of another beast.

”Incredible,” Arabel exclaimed, amazed at Rachelʼs skill.

”The Path of the Bow?” She thought, appreciating both the bow itself and Rachelʼs skill with the weapon. Her phenomenal accuracy and ability to see so far and hit the target were simply amazing.

”Itʼs probably all thanks to her eyes,” Arabel thought, remembering her eagle—like eyes.

Rachel, noticing her gaze, turned to her, smiled and nodded, as if saying that she would take care of the beasts.

Nodding to Rachel, Arabel focused on repairing and strengthening the broken ice while helping the residents reach the portal.

Scouring the city, one of the Awakened Titans Guild, using the Soul Force, discovered an air pocket in the depths of the waters, in which a whole family of four people found themselves. Surprisingly, they were all alive!

This miracle forced everyone involved in the search to redouble their efforts and check every corner, because perhaps, like this family, someone else could be trapped and in need of rescue.

During the search, one of the awakened approached a private house that stood on a hill, and only the first floor of it was flooded.

Suddenly, an exhausted and bloody girl fell out of a second-floor window.

”Help!” she screamed desperately, but she didnʼt have time to get up, slipping on ice fragments and falling.

Bam!

A shot rang out, and the bullet hit the girlʼs back. The awakened one, caught off guard, didnʼt even have time to react and help her.

The sound of the gunshot echoed around.

At the same moment, Arabel appeared in the sky above the house. When she saw the injured girl, she got angry, and her attention shifted to the building. Suddenly, a powerful Soul Force pressure descended on the house, which blew off the roof and revealed everything that was happening inside.

”Nathan?” — Arabel noticed a giant appearing above the building.

Inside the opened building, Arabel and Nathan saw a man covered in blood, holding a young girl by the neck and holding a gun to her head. His eyes were bloodshot, and there was fear in his gaze of the giant towering over his house.

However, it wasnʼt him who caught Arabel and Nathanʼs attention, but the girl he was holding. She was covered in blood, as was the rest of the room.

Besides these two, Arabel and Nathan noticed three other girls lying in a pool of blood. It was difficult to determine if they were alive or not.

”Iʼm going to kill her!” the man screamed, trembling all over, pressing the gun harder against the girlʼs head.

”Iʼll kill her!” he repeated.

”Iʼll kill her!”

His screams brought Arabel and Nathanʼs eyes back to him.

At that moment, his fate was sealed.

The distraught man did not realize who he was facing or who he was threatening. These werenʼt ordinary people standing in front of him. They were Awakened.

No sooner had he uttered his next words than a powerful force restrained his movements. There was a crack, and the hand holding the gun twisted, causing him to drop the weapon.

Then, a cracking sound was heard, and all the bones on his arm began to break under the influence of an invisible force, causing unbearable pain.

”Aaaaaaa!” the man screamed in agony.

His other hand loosened, freeing the girl, and then he was lifted into the air by an invisible force.

While the man was floating in the air, Arabel came down past him into the house. Behind her, she heard the manʼs screams and saw Nathan slowly breaking all his bones using his Soul Force.

Arabel felt no pity for the man. If it wasnʼt for Nathan, who promised that he would personally take care of him and asked her to help the girls, she would have tortured this man herself.

Going down to the house, Arabel quickly examined it and realized with bitterness that they were too late and that all the girls were no longer breathing.
