Chapter 917: It changed a lot

Two days have passed since the rumble that marks the beginning of the Third Disaster spread around the world.

More than one day has passed since the appearance of the four Anomalies. During this time, three cities in the south and west of the Federation disappeared along with their inhabitants, being under the rule of two Anomalies.

About half a day has passed since the Kingdom Guild members began evacuating the residents of two cities in the north and east of the Federation.

”If the evacuation of Ironcreek City continues at the same pace, it will be completed later in the evening,” Arabel concluded after receiving information about the evacuation from her avatar.

”As for Redclay, only half of the residents have been evacuated at the moment,” Arabel said after reviewing the summary sent by Irene and the others who were there.

Everything would have been fine if it wasnʼt for the evacuation problem the Guild was facing.

”The city of Nordist can no longer accept refugees.”

”And the negotiations with the Federation have not been completed yet.”

At that moment, Arabel realized the mistake they had made.

”To make sure, it was necessary to send one group to another large city, which is further away from the Anomalies,” she thought.

Although Arabel was aware that their powers were limited.

Otherwise, they would not have ignored the cities in the south and west of the Federation, which were left to their own devices.

All the groups were fully occupied, and even if we sent someone to another city now, it would take a long time. And the number of refugees arriving in the Kingdom was constantly growing.

Arabel needed to make a decision about what to do with these people.

”Who would have thought that creatures from other worlds could have something like a nuclear bomb?”

”To make matters worse, are they willing to use this right in the middle of the city to distract Ned and escape?”

This was another major problem that their Kingdom Guild was facing.

It was unknown how many similar items Creatures from other worlds had.

”If they dared to use such a thing in Nordist, then why wouldnʼt they use something similar against us in Ironcreek and Redclay? Not to mention other cities closer to the Anomalies?” wondered Arabel.

She hadnʼt seen the moment of the explosion herself, but the destruction that had taken place in Nordist was still fresh in her mind. She also remembered the huge amount of chaotic energy she felt as soon as she stepped out of the portal.

The sky above the city was cloudless and clear. It seemed as if the force of the powerful explosion had simply erased everything in its path.

It changed a lot.

Arabel was glad that her avatar had destroyed the teleportation circle in Ironcreek City. Now she did not rule out that creatures from other worlds could simply teleport something like this directly into the city and destroy it along with their guild members.

”We need to find a way to counter this,” — Arabel mused.

While she was thinking about a solution, a message came from Milena.

”Have they finally agreed to our proposal and withdrawn their demands?” Arabel whispered after reading the message.

”The names that Ned brought out and Feliciaʼs actions were very effective,” she nodded.

But Arabel wasnʼt happy about what she had achieved.

She understood that despite the Federationʼs agreement, they were unlikely to forgive what they had done.

”The council is also asking us to help with the evacuation of cities in the south and west,” Arabel said in Milenaʼs message, and Milena wondered how best to respond to this request.

No matter how much Arabel wanted to help, they couldnʼt get scattered.

At least not right now.

After some thought, Arabel wrote to Milena:

--------------------

MBQ: {@Twilight Empress, tell Irina that we need time to consider the possibility of helping to evacuate cities in the west and south.}

Twilight Empress: {Understood.}

”Now we can safely redirect refugees to the Capital,” Arabel said with relief when one of the problems that had been bothering her was finally resolved.

Using her authority over the Kingdom, she checked the facility where the refugees were being held.

”A little more, and we would have to release some of the refugees into the Kingdom itself,” she said.

”Big Sister,” Arabel called Lucinda and asked her to start expelling the refugees in small groups, after warning them beforehand, from the Kingdom beyond the barrier.

”Thereʼs still a military cordon behind the barrier, so theyʼll be met there,” Arabel wasnʼt worried.

Soon, Lucinda gathered a small group, notified them, and using her power as the Kingdomʼs ”Guardian of Light,” banished them. Before the eyes of many refugees, the people she had chosen disappeared and appeared outside the barrier.

With this, the temporarily stalled evacuation resumed in full.

The military, who were watching the barrier in the former territory of the Stone family, were alarmed by the sudden appearance of groups of surprised people. Armed soldiers quickly surrounded the refugees, but before they knew where they had come from, another group appeared.

Then there were more and more.

It was only after the military reported this to the Federation leadership that they received an explanation of who these people were and where they were from. At the same time, an order was given to evacuate these people. Other services in the capital also received a similar order, and reinforcements soon arrived at the military barrier.

The Federation, as Arabel and the others had predicted, did not miss this chance and decided to use it to enhance its reputation. They presented all this as their merit, avoiding mentioning the Kingdom.

In the afternoon, as Arabel watched the evacuation progress and simultaneously tried to figure out how to counter the new threat posed by creatures from other worlds, she noticed that an Access Portal had opened.

”Finally?” she thought happily, realizing that Nemo and Linaʼs group had finally returned.

Arabel disappeared from her seat and appeared in front of the portal, from where one by one the slightly battered band members began to come out.

”Welcome back...” Arabel greeted them with a smile and froze when she saw a beautiful girl with long purple hair and eyes come out of the portal last.

Arabel did not immediately recognize her.

It wasnʼt until Arabel noticed her awkward smile that she realized it was none other than Lina.

”Lina?” she asked in surprise, and Lina nodded.

”Yes, itʼs me.”

Less than five seconds later, the two older Valkyries, Lucinda and Sierra, appeared in front of Lina.

Their faces showed no less shock and disbelief as they stared at Lina in her new guise as the Thunderblade Valkyrie.
