Chapter 901: Keep an eye on them

The anomalies, which occurred less than a day after the deafening rumble that announced the beginning of the Third Disaster, were gaining strength by the hour.

A day after the anomalies appeared, members of the Kingdom Guild began evacuating residents of the two cities closest to the Northern and Eastern Anomalies.

As the anomalies spread rapidly, there was little time left. The evacuation began in the dead of night and was already in full swing by the next morning.

Arabel, unlike the previous day, did not close her eyes, carefully watching the evacuation process with Leo, despite all the persuasions to rest.

They regularly shared with the rest of the Guild members new information about anomalies and what was happening in other parts of the Federation.

”This is the third one,” Arabel said sadly, looking at the area covered by the Western Anomaly, where there used to be a dot with the name of the city.

Arabel clenched her teeth, seeing an empty spot on the map where an entire city had lived yesterday.

”Leo,” she said, and without waiting for her further words, he checked the Federationʼs network. Soon, he shook his head.

”Another abandoned city,” — Arabel closed her eyes, realizing the cruelty of what was happening.

Opening her eyes, she looked at the Federation map and noticed several points located close to the Southern and Western Anomalies. These points represented other cities that also expected a similar fate —to be abandoned to their fate.

”Queen,” Leo addressed her, ”I have discovered that the Federation has begun evacuating several cities after all.”

Then, on the holographic map of the Federation, Leo pointed to cities that were quite far from the anomalies. Those that were closer to the anomalies were ignored.

”They decided to try to save those who could still be saved, considering that it was no longer possible to save those who were closer to the anomaly, and there was less and less time left,” Arabel summed up, looking at the numerous videos on the screens that Leo had displayed.

In these videos, she saw how the military and the Awakened carried out a massive forced evacuation of cities.

”The worst thing about all this is that the Federation is completely suppressing all information about those cities that have disappeared and those that have suffered the same fate,” Arabel whispered, watching the Federationʼs actions.

”It seems that even without distributing the Manuals, the Federation would still have blocked the network for ordinary users, and all communication with these cities is cut off,” she added.

Of course, Arabel and the others understood that the Federation did not want to cause panic, and information about the deaths of entire cities and their inhabitants could lead to public discontent and criticism of the Federation, the Association and the Guilds.

But the realization could not weaken the feeling of horror that gripped them at the thought that entire cities and thousands of people were dying, being abandoned by the forces they had hoped for.

Arabel clenched her fists, took a deep breath, and reflected on her weakness and helplessness in this situation. Their Guild wasnʼt omnipotent and couldnʼt save everyone. All they were capable of was saving the few cities in the north and east that were within their capabilities.

While observing the situation, Arabel received a notification and pulled out the {Whisper Talisman} and read the message.

Fox Empress: {They have begun to act}

--------------------

”The Awakened Ones from the Association?” Arabel raised an eyebrow in surprise.

And then she wrote back.:

--------------------

MBQ: {Keep an eye on them}

MBQ: {If anything, go ahead, Iʼll be there soon}

--------------------

With that, Arabel established a connection with her avatar, who was on Ironcreek. They exchanged information and memories.

Arabel herself continued to observe what was happening, and her avatar, having received the necessary information, left Ireneʼs Double to oversee the evacuation and went to where Felicia was.

***

In the city of Ironcreek, the evacuation took place in an orderly manner, without major hitches or incidents.

The mayor of the city and the city services performed their task with full dedication, while the members of the Kingdomʼs Guild were focused on protecting the outskirts of the city from the invasion of waves of beasts.

”Itʼs getting cold,” one of the residents remarked, raising her head and hurrying to the central square with a small backpack full of necessary things.

The approaching anomaly had already begun to affect the weather, and the temperature was gradually decreasing. By now, it was already lower than usual, which, of course, did not go unnoticed.

For the Awakened, the decrease in temperature was not a particular concern, but for ordinary residents, even a slight cold snap was critical.

The huge crowd gathered in the square in front of the portal was gradually starting to panic.

But before the situation could become even more tense, a force invisible to ordinary people spread throughout the square. She penetrated the minds of all those gathered, calming them and suppressing their panic.

The source of this power was a young girl in the uniform of the Kingdom Guild. She had long blonde hair and brown eyes. She stood just above the portal and carefully watched the evacuation process.

It was Neri — Ireneʼs doppelganger, to whom she herself had given that name. She looked like Irene now, assuming her form, and used her power as needed to quell the residentsʼ panic.

At that time, in one of the abandoned warehouses located closer to the outskirts of the city, a group of Awakened People from the Association were engaged in a strange activity — they were drawing circles on the ground.

Two eyes with vertical pupils watched their actions carefully from the darkness, not missing a single one of their movements.

Felicia used the {Whisper Talisman} to send a message about her observations and what exactly these Awakened Ones were doing.

Soon, in response, she received a message from Milena, who told her exactly what these Awakened Ones were trying to create.

--------------------

Twilight Empress: {Teleportation Circle!}

--------------------

”The Teleportation Circle?”

Feliciaʼs pupils narrowed.

She had a bad feeling about everything she saw before, but now it has intensified.

She had never imagined that these Awakened Ones were going to summon someone to this place.

Itʼs not even worth considering the possibility that they painted this to teleport out of the city.

After all, these awakened ones from the Association had enough time and even a private jet to leave the city.

It could only mean one thing: someone wanted to get here.

To a city that was doomed.

To the city where the mass evacuation was taking place.

And Felicia was absolutely sure that those who came here had no good intentions.
