Chapter 885: Coco and Octo

As time went on, the situation became more and more tense.

The Federation has restricted access to the network for ordinary users, leaving it only for the military and other structures, including the Awakened Association.

All the forces of the network surveillance service were directed to find the source of the rumors and those who distributed the complete first volume of the ”Manual to the Path of Mastery” to the public. This dealt a serious blow to the Federationʼs original plans.

Of course, the independent Guilds were among the first suspects, and the Kingdom Guild was at the top of the list.

However, no direct evidence of their involvement has yet been found.

”We are about to begin,” Arabel said as her avatar began the crucial phase of evacuating the first city, opening a portal to Ironcreekʼs largest square.

”Donʼt get distracted, sis, Iʼll take care of all the business on this side,” Lucinda said, getting up from her seat.

”Your help would be very helpful, thank you, big sister,” Arabel thanked, and Lucinda nodded and disappeared, teleporting inside the huge empty structure built by the doppelgangers.

When Lucinda appeared, she majestically spread her four bright wings, filling the space inside the structure with light echoes of the element of Light.

Her shining golden eyes fixed on the two active portals.:

* One of them has just been discovered by Arabelʼs avatar in the northern city of Ironcreek.

* The second is a permanent Access Portal located in the city of Nordist, which Arabel moved here.

This entire huge structure was designed to accommodate as many urban residents as possible in case of emergencies. It also served as a kind of barrier separating them from the Kingdom itself.

After a while, the first residents started coming out of the portal leading to Ironcreek City. They were alarmed and scared, not understanding where this mysterious portal was taking them.

But as soon as they were touched by the bright and warm ray of the element of light, all their anxiety and worry began to disappear.

Lifting their heads, they saw an incredibly beautiful creature who, like an angel, like a deity, came to their aid.

”Follow my instructions and go to the second portal, and you will be in a safe place,” Lucinda said softly, and all the residents listened to her instructions without hesitation. They began to move towards the portal that led to the city of Nordist.

Meanwhile, the unawakened members of the guild and the Nordist City service were already waiting for them on the other side, which was informed in advance of the imminent evacuation of the cities and the arrival of a wave of refugees.

Arabel nodded with satisfaction, appreciating the effectiveness of her older sisterʼs actions, watching from the sidelines, using power over the Kingdom. After making sure that everything was going according to plan, she decided to move on to the next stage.

”Octo, Coco,” — Arabel called, and after a few moments, a rift opened in front of her, from which two small foxes jumped out.

One of them was gray with a small backpack on his back, and the other was completely black, with three tentacles instead of tails.

”The time has come,” Arabel said, looking at the two cubs. ”You remember what Dan asked you to do, right?”

Coco nodded first, and Octo followed suit with a slight delay.

”Wonderful,” — Arabel said with a smile. ”As soon as you complete this task, you will receive a worthy reward.”

The eyes of the two little foxes shone with joy, and smiles played on their faces. Their tails began to spin like helicopters.

”Coco, youʼve done similar tasks before, so there wonʼt be any problems with you. However, Octo...” Arabel looked at her third contract, not knowing what to say.

Itʼs only been a little over a month since Octo hatched from the egg. During this time, he gained a lot of experience following Sierra and Coco. Arabel was overjoyed to see how much he had grown.

At the same time, she was a little embarrassed to ask the kid what they were going to do.

”Octo, go to my avatar in Ironcreek, and you, Coco, wait for the portal leading to Dan to appear, and then follow him,” Arabel asked. The two little foxes nodded vigorously and, opening the rift, disappeared.

Arabel opened the {Talisman of the Whisper} chats and informed them that Oсto and Coco had already started acting. At the same time, she read messages from other groups.

The task of notifying and helping residents evacuate was assigned to the military and local structures. While the members of the Kingdom Guild focused their efforts on defending the city borders, occasionally fending off the attacks of waves of beasts.

Due to the growing power of the anomaly and its influence, the waves of beasts did not stop. All new territories were affected by anomalies, and the animals living there rushed there in search of new opportunities, simultaneously attacking human cities that got in their way.

Thanks to the coordinated work of the mayor and city services, despite the anxiety and some panic, the situation remained controlled and calmer.

As soon as discontent and attempts at resistance broke out, they were quickly suppressed by the crushing actions of Neri, Ireneʼs doppelganger, who unhesitatingly used her masterʼs power to restore order.

”So what do we do?” One of the awakened ones asked his leader, standing on the roof of one of the buildings. They watched the well-coordinated work of the Kingdom Guild members, especially Arabelʼs avatar, who was standing at the portal.

”Maybe we should inform the management?” suggested another Awakened One.

Their leader, who had previously confronted Irene and didnʼt dare to do anything, was silent, lost in thought.

Meanwhile, while the group of Awakened Ones from the Association were watching, two vertical-pupiled eyes were watching them intently from the void.

Closely observing the actions of potential enemies, Felicia, due to her affinity with the element of space, noticed how a small black fox cub with three tails appeared from the portal in the center of the square.

”Is Octo here yet?” — she smiled when she saw the fox cub and shook her head.

At the same time, she admired Idan and Arabelʼs actions, supporting their plan to gather as many resources from the city as possible before the anomaly swallowed it up.

Under the influence of the anomaly and the actions of the beasts, there would still be nothing valuable left of the city, including important resources. As the Guild leader, Idan made the decision to take everything they could carry instead of just leaving everything here.

Some of the food and other resources will be transferred to the cities where the refugees will be sent, and some will remain with them.

The Kingdom also needs resources to build new buildings and ensure the well-being of its residents.

And the main task of the two little foxes is to quietly empty the cityʼs supplies.

They had to do this so that there would be no evidence left and they could avoid any charges in the future.
