Chapter 857 - 858: Valkyrieʼs pregnancy

”What about Idan?” Lucinda asked Arabel.

”Was he in his true form or not?” she added.

”He was in the form of an Alpha of Fire,” Arabel confessed, deciding to be honest with her sisters. She understood that the issue concerned her unborn child, and she did not want to hide anything from them. Besides, she trusted everyone in this room.

The faces of the three senior Valkyries changed. They looked at each other again and seemed to understand what they were thinking.

”Little sister, I think itʼs too early for you to say that youʼre going to have a Valkyrie girl,” Sierra finally said with a slight smile.

”Huh? Why?” Arabel stared at her in amazement. She was sure she was going to have a girl.

”I canʼt tell everyone that I have identity problems, and there are multiple versions of myself living in my head. And it was the White version of me who got pregnant, Arabel thought, looking expectantly at Sierra and waiting for her explanation.

”Since all our sisters are here, except Milena, I think itʼs worth telling a little bit about our race, right?” said Esma, and Lucinda and Sierra nodded in agreement.

Yulaya and Hazel, the last two Valkyries to join the sisterhood, pricked up their ears and were slightly worried.

Lina frowned. As a former Valkyrie who resided on the Celestial Continent, she knew a lot about her race.

”To begin with, in Junonia, the Higher Races such as the Valkyries, High Elves, and others have a restriction on procreation,” Lucinda began.

”In their entire lives, Higher beings can have from one to two children, rarely three,” she continued.

”But you sisters are not from Junonia,” — Esma chimed in.

”You are Valkyries from another world, and all three of us are convinced that these restrictions have nothing to do with you. Unlike us, you can have as many children as you want,” Esma suggested.

Sierra and Lucinda nodded in agreement.

”As you have already understood, the Valkyries in Junonia take a very responsible approach to the issue of having a child due to existing restrictions,” Sierra continued.

”In most cases, they are looking for a partner compatible with their own element to produce a stronger Valkyrie.”

”And how does this happen?” asked Yulaya, raising her hand.

”What do you think?” Sierra chuckled.

”Based on what I have already learned, and feeling some pride inherent in Valkyries, I can assume that in addition to love and taking into account the restrictions on childbearing, in such cases, most likely, the principle of ”Wanted — took” applies,” Yulaya replied.

For Yulaya, the Valkyrie culture resembled the so—called Amazons, an entire race consisting exclusively of women who could only give birth to girls.

From what she knew about them and the new feelings she had gained by becoming a Valkyrie, Yulaya could tell that these people had a desire for superiority over men. They look down on them and perceive them only as partners for procreation.

She glanced at Arabel, who was a little different from them. She wasnʼt a Valkyrie on a permanent basis, but she could turn into one and back. Yulaya couldnʼt tell for sure if Arabel felt the same way they did or not.

”Youʼre right,” Sierra said approvingly, noting that this new little sister was very smart, unlike the other one.

”In Junonia, most Valkyries are guided only by strength in this matter, leaving feelings aside,” she continued.

”And this is not because Valkyries are incapable of loving, but because ʼloveʼ is forbidden by decree of the Valkyrie Queen herself,” Sierra added sadly.

Yulaya and Hazel frowned when they heard Sierraʼs words. As former people and residents of another world, they, like all young girls, dreamed of love and meeting someone you love.

Arabel, their older sister, was already married and had a spouse, and the two were secretly jealous of her.

”Why is that? Why was ”love” forbidden?” Arabel couldnʼt help but ask.

”We donʼt know for sure,” Lucinda shook her head.

”This decree appeared long before we were born,” Esma added.

”And this decree operates through the Bloodline Domain and affects all Valkyries.”

”Any Valkyrie who violates this decree will be considered a traitor to the race and imprisoned, and her lover will be killed.”

”Therefore, the current Valkyries usually enter into a contract with a man of another race chosen by them and desired, or, if the race itself is weak, they take what they want by force.”

”Even though Valkyries are a secretive race, they are quite famous, and few men from other races are opposed to spending the night with a Valkyrie and giving her their seed.”

”For some men, itʼs a kind of pride that theyʼre proud of and share with everyone.”

Lina, listening to this, wrinkled her nose in disgust.

She hated it. She hated her race.

”To avoid this, Valkyries often leave the Celestial Continent, hiding their origins, in search of suitable partners. Even after they find suitable men, most of them donʼt reveal their true identity,” Sierra added.

”And now weʼre finally getting to the most interesting part—pregnancy.” Sierra looked at Arabel.

”Valkyries can give birth to two kinds of Valkyrie girls,” she continued without taking her eyes off Arabel.

”The first one is a Valkyrie who inherited her motherʼs affinity.”

”And the second one is a Valkyrie who inherited her fatherʼs affinity.”

”For example, if an Ice Valkyrie chooses a man to be her partner, regardless of his race, with an affinity for the fire element, then she can give birth to either an Ice Valkyrie girl or a Fire Valkyrie girl.”

”However, in the case of a second birth, due to the opposite of the elements, the mother may be injured during pregnancy.”

”Thatʼs why Valkyries rarely choose men as partners who are incompatible with their element. But such cases do happen.”

”Why do they do this?” asked Yulaya, wondering why the Valkyries choose men who are incompatible with their element as companions.

”Because there is a reason that attracts most Valkyries,” Esma replied with a smile.

”The fact is that in such unions, it is very rare, with a very low probability, that unique species of Valkyries can be born,” Sierra continued, gazing intently at Yulai and Hazel.

”For example, all the Ice Valkyries and Fire Valkyries go for it, wanting to give birth to a rare Ice Fire Valkyrie.”
