Chapter 888: The Valley of Stones

In the heart of one of the nine Forbidden Zones of the Valley of Stones, at the foot of a huge stone mountain, one could see a magnificent elf girl anxiously pacing back and forth. From time to time, she raised her head and bit her nails, trying to see someone at the top.

A little further away, three people were sitting by a campfire, surrounded only by rocks, also seized with anxiety. They carefully followed the movements of the elf.

”Eulalia,” Aliya called out to the elf. ”Would you like to sit down for a while? We warmed up some food that Sofia had prepared.”

Eulalia stopped, and smelling a pleasant fragrance, her stomach rumbled, which caused her embarrassment. It distracted her from her anxious thoughts.

After taking another look at the top of the mountain, Eulalia came and sat next to Aliya. There were two people sitting across from them: a young guy named Liam and his master, a middle-aged man with a sword on his back, Alois.

Accepting the dish from Aliyaʼs hands, Eulalia began to eat, immersing himself in memories of what had happened to their group.

Almost three days have passed since the Reset, and they came here to the Valley of Stones, hoping to find and capture the second Temple. As it turned out, the rumors were not deceived: one of the two remaining Temples actually appeared in this Forbidden Zone.

After reaching the outer borders with the help of the lightning Phoenix, they found themselves on a majestic plain strewn with rocks of various sizes. However, this place was not completely dead: bizarre and unique plants could be seen here, and in the distance there was even a forest of hybrid stone trees.

Inspired and determined to conquer this forbidden zone as soon as possible, they crossed the border that separated it from the rest of Limbo. But everything did not go according to plan: at the very beginning of their campaign, their group of six people mysteriously lost one of their members.

Nemo mysteriously disappeared.

None of the remaining five people noticed when and how it happened. He seemed to just disappear into thin air.

No matter how much they searched, they couldnʼt find him.

After some time, Lina, thanks to her connection with Nemo, which she gained by becoming Arabelʼs champion, felt his presence far ahead, in the very heart of the Forbidden Zone.

”The Supervisor of the Forbidden Zone!” — Eulalia quickly realized, realizing who was behind Nemoʼs disappearance. ”Itʼs definitely his doing!”

Lina, who knew who the Supervisors of the Forbidden Zone were, trembled in fear.

Her eyes, full of worry, looked into the distance, towards the very heart of the Forbidden Zone, as if she hoped to see Nemo.

Linaʼs heart began to beat faster when she imagined that something bad could happen to Nemo and Izzy and Rizzy would be left without him.

Remembering the little girl who always followed Nemo, Lina looked around for Kitty, but did not find her.

Was she really taken away with him? Lina suddenly realized. Then she remembered whose favorite descendant Kitty was, and given who Nemo himself was, she had hope that the Supervisor of this Forbidden Zone had not taken Nemo with malicious intent.

”Letʼs go,” she said, resolutely heading towards the center of the Forbidden Zone in search of Nemo.

”Hey, hey, hey, Lina, wait,” — Eulalia stopped her. ”Where are you going?”

”Letʼs go back and tell the Master and the others. Letʼs also ask Geminia, why would the Supervisor of this Forbidden Zone kidnap Nemo?”

”Nemo should be fine,” — Lina replied.

”Yes, I believe heʼs fine,” she added, though there was doubt in her voice.

”Have you forgotten who Nemo is? He is the first to conquer the Forbidden Zone and one of the three Temples!”

”Have you forgotten that because of this, his status in Limbo has become something more than all of us put together?”

Linaʼs words reminded Eulalia of Nemoʼs status, which he acquired after conquering the Temple, and the rights he now had.

Her fear for her younger began to slowly recede, and the more she thought about it, the more convinced she became that Lina was right.

As the leader of the group, Eulalia had to take care not only of herself and Nemo, but also of the other team members.

She looked around at her companions, and they were all looking at her, waiting for her decision. Even Alois was silently waiting for her to make a decision.

Finally, Eulalia made a decision: ”Okay! You know why weʼre here, so letʼs conquer this Forbidden Zone!”

”Letʼs Go!” — Liam exclaimed, supporting her.

Alois, seeing his discipleʼs reaction, shook his head, but couldnʼt help but smile slightly.

”Oh, youth,” he said to himself.

The last member of the group, Aliya, nodded silently, agreeing with their decision, and followed the others.

After a bit of commotion caused by Nemoʼs disappearance, the group continued on their way to conquer the Forbidden Zone.

At this time, in the very heart of the Forbidden Zone, on top of a huge mountain, among many rocks, the one who caused all these riots appeared. There was a small black kitten sitting on his shoulder.

Nemo was caught off guard and did not immediately realize what had happened. He and Kitty looked around, trying to figure out where they had been moved to. There were only rocks and boulders around them, and not a single living soul could be seen.

At that moment, an incredible pressure descended on them, which made them freeze, feeling small and insignificant.

Kitty, overcome with fear, pressed herself against Nemoʼs head, trembling and seeking protection.

Nemo, overcoming the pressure, raised his head, feeling the gaze of a powerful being on him. Finally, he realized what had happened to him and who was behind it all.

”The Challenger,” an imperious voice rang in his head, which, with its invisible vibration alone, made Nemo tremble and almost fall.

”Why are you here?” the voice asked.

”Declare war?”

”Or do you want to conquer the Second Temple?”

”You should know that this is impossible, and that one ʼChallengerʼ can only have one Temple in his location and three Forbidden Zones,” the voice announced.

”So tell me, why did you show up in my domain at this important moment?”

Nemo, overcoming the pressure of the powerful voice, sighed and, using a mental link, informed the voice and the Supervisor of the Forbidden Zone, whom he could not see, about the purpose of his visit.
