Supreme Husband System! & Supreme Wife System!

Chapter 286: As expected, a wave of beasts is coming (Bonus Chapter)

Looking at the night city from the balcony of their luxurious room, the couple realized that they had a problem.

Ned and Bera werenʼt around, which meant they didnʼt have a means of transportation either. After the incident with the military, they didnʼt really want to ask them to take them outside the city. Because of his paranoia, Idan was convinced that someone from the military might be connected to those who ambushed the Awakened.

”How are you controlling your bloodline, Belle?” asked Idan of Arabel.

”Iʼve improved my skills a lot during my days in Limbo,” Arabel replied, understanding what Idan was getting at.

The situation required them to hurry, so they didnʼt have time to find transportation and go through all the necessary procedures. There was only one thing left to do, and that was to use the flying ability that their bloodlines possessed.

Currently, Arabelle can take three different forms. Her human form has remained unchanged since birth, only becoming more attractive with each increase in rank.

The second form is that of a Valkyrie without wings. Her wings take on the appearance of a large fluffy white scarf, and her long red hair turns snow-white.

The third and most powerful form is the full Valkyrie form. In this form, her scarf transforms into two pairs of huge white wings that make her truly majestic.

”Can you give me a ride?” — Idan asked awkwardly, and Arabel gave him a strange look.

”Well, you know that my Alpha of Fire form is too conspicuous, and as soon as I use my ability to fly at night like this, then...”

Arabel had completely forgotten that Idan, in his Alpha of Fire form, was actually a bright flame.

Sighing, Arabel took off her ghost mask, sent it to the vault, and without saying a word, transformed into her Valkyrie form.

Her long red hair turned snow-white, and a large white scarf appeared around her neck, which disintegrated into particles. These particles moved behind Arabelʼs back, taking the form of two large pairs of snow-white wings.

No matter how much Idan looked at it, he couldnʼt stop admiring it. This time, looking at it, he remembered the bet he had won, and his thoughts played out a little. However, he quickly suppressed it, realizing that now was not the time for such thoughts.

Taking the form of an Ice Valkyrie, Arabel closed her eyes, and her body was filled with joy from being in this cold and snowy place. She felt incredibly well and full of energy.

Taking a deep breath and exhaling cold air, she opened her eyes and, casting a cold glance at Idan, looked in the direction where he was pointing. She then soared into the air, simultaneously releasing her Soul Force and grabbing Idan slightly roughly.

”Oh, take it easy!” exclaimed Idan, as Arabel abruptly grabbed him and lifted him up. It was obvious that she wasnʼt used to using her Soul Force yet, and this moment reminded Idan once again that they had a lot to learn. And for that, they needed time, which they had been missing lately.

Ignoring Idanʼs outrage, Arabel flew to the edge of the city, streaking over the night streets. Soon they reached the checkpoints and landed on the roof of the building, which had a beautiful view of the outskirts of the city and the endless wild lands on the border.

After coming down, Idan and Arabel both frowned. Their instincts were persistently warning of the approaching danger.

”As we expected, a wave of beasts is coming,” Idan said, convinced that it was from this wave that the threat was coming.

It hadnʼt been long since Idan learned from Ned that the Awakened Ones had disappeared, and a wave of Beasts was already bearing down on the city. He was right.: This was not an accident, but a carefully planned conspiracy. There was no other way Idan could explain everything that was happening.

[Ding! A wave of Beasts has been detected moving towards the city. The task ”Protect the city of Rumbus from a wave of Beasts” has been given.]

[During this task, Hosts can earn System Points by killing Beasts. The ranks and corresponding rewards for killing monsters are as follows:

Killing a Bronze–ranked Beast - 10 System Points;

Killing a Silver–ranked Beast - 50 System Points;

Killing a Golden–ranked Beast - 100 System Points;

Killing a Platinum–ranked Beast - 250 System Points;

Killing a Diamond–ranked Beast - 750 System points.]

[In case of failure of the task, one of the four active functions will be blocked and deleted along with the randomly selected function slot.]

Idan and Arabel werenʼt too surprised when they saw a notification from the System about a new assignment. They had expected this to some extent, but still hoped that the System would not bother them. Unfortunately, their expectations were not fulfilled.

On the one hand, this assignment was exactly what the couple needed right now. It was a chance to earn System points just by killing the Beasts.

At another time, Idan and Arabel would have been encouraged by such a suggestion, but now they looked at the notification with gloomy faces, not knowing what to do.

Each of them was immersed in their own thoughts and experiences.

”Letʼs go,” Idan said, sighing and making a decision.

However, Arabel didnʼt budge. She continued to stand with her eyes closed.

Shortly after, a siren sounded, warning residents of the impending danger. Only then did Arabel open her eyes and look at Idan.

”Dan,” she said to him. ”Listen to me carefully. We cannot ignore the task of the System. So I suggest we split up. One of us has to stay and complete this task, and the other one will go in search of the group.”

Idan sighed, realizing that this was exactly what he least wanted. However, he decided to listen to Arabel until the end.

”You know, when I was under Geminiaʼs care in Limbo, she noticed that you and I had become too dependent on each other lately. I thought about it and realized that she was partly right. But I donʼt think itʼs wrong. I like being around you,” Arabel confessed.

”However, for our common good in the future, we need to learn how to work separately. Yes, when we are together, we can use the unique abilities of the System and become even stronger. But in the future, there may be situations where enemies will divide us. If we rely on each other too much, it can become a problem,” Arabel said, expressing her concerns about the future.

”During our stay in Limbo, it was only in the very first days that we faced real danger for our lives, where any mistake could lead to certain death. However, from the moment we met Nemo and the others until today, we were always protected by someone stronger, and we almost never had to show our full strength in battle.”

”But now that weʼve returned to our world, that protection is gone, and weʼre on our own. To become strong and face the dangers that lie ahead, we need to strengthen our strength and develop new abilities.”

”Therefore, I suggest taking this opportunity to test our individual capabilities. I understand that this is dangerous, but I also partly believe that it is necessary, given the limitations of rank that do not allow beings above our rank to exist in our world,” Arabel said.

After listening to Arabelʼs words, Idan realized that she was right. As much as he wanted to stay with Arabel, he couldnʼt help but admit she was right. Closing his eyes and sighing, Idan made a decision.
