Chapter 263: Visit to Kraus

”So many problems!” sighed Idan.

He had to give Coco three more candies in order to take the photo from her and get a promise that she would not tell or show Arabel what had happened.

In a short period of time, he had already given Coco six candies, and thus, Idan had run out of candies. Next time, he will have to spend 100 System Points to buy a new package.

However, Idan still felt anxious and somewhat distrustful of Coco.

He was afraid that as soon as Arabel promised to give her sweets, Coco would immediately betray him and betray him with all the secrets.

”Well, weʼll solve the problems as they arise,” Idan thought, dressing according to the weather and lifting Coco to put her on his shoulder. He opened the door leading to the balcony and went out.

Ned, in the guise of Sierra, followed him. As soon as Idan jumped up, Ned opened two pairs of black wings behind her back and, catching Idan with her Soul Force, soared upward, simultaneously using her stealth abilities.

”That way, Ned, — Idan pointed out, and Ned, quickly following his instructions, flew in the indicated direction.

Idan noticed that Ned, when he was in the form of Sierra, had wings in only two pairs, unlike the three pairs of Sierra herself. He didnʼt know what it was related to, but he guessed that perhaps because of the suppression of the world rank, Ned couldnʼt fully unleash Sierraʼs power. Or maybe Sierraʼs three pairs of wings are related to her legendary rank, and no matter how hard Ned tries, he canʼt fully recreate her image.

Soon they were above the right building.

”Coco, do me a favor and check if Kraus is there. This is the man who was with those people who tortured the fox and the wolf,” Idan said, turning to Coco.

Coco, still enjoying the candy, was in a good mood and readily agreed. She nodded, wagged her tail, opened the rift, and without hesitation, stepped into it and disappeared.

”By the way, we still havenʼt found out if the cameras can see through Sierraʼs disguise,” Idan told Ned.

”Well, letʼs not take any chances,” with these words, Idan changed his appearance to a completely new one. He has long dark hair and dark eyes.

With the help of the Ghost Mask, he now had a third disguise. The first was in the form of a blond man with blue eyes, and the second was a young guy with short black hair and blue eyes.

Coco didnʼt have to wait long. A rift opened, and Coco jumped out of it, landing neatly on Idanʼs shoulder. She was holding several photographs in her paws.

Without any demands, Coco handed over these photos to Idan, which pleasantly surprised him.

”Thank you,” Idan said, stroking Cocoʼs tiny head, and she happily accepted the caress.

”Letʼs see,” Idan said, looking at the photos Coco had taken.

”Weʼre lucky, heʼs here.”

Coco did her job flawlessly — she found Kraus and took his picture.

”Good girl, — Idan praised, patting Coco affectionately.

”Okay, Ned, itʼs time to go down,” he suggested. The building rented by the Untouchables Guild wasnʼt too big, but it wasnʼt small either. There was plenty of room for dozens of Guild members.

Idan and Ned easily reached the balcony of the desired floor and the room indicated by Coco. Leaving no footprints in the snow, they carefully and silently opened the door and entered.

Sierraʼs abilities were perfect for stealthy infiltration and surveillance.

As a member of the Untouchables Guild, Kraus lived in luxury. His room consisted of a separate living room, a huge double bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom. Even a separate bar with drinks was provided.

Kraus was currently sitting alone at the bar, sipping drinks and lost in thought. He didnʼt even notice that the intruders had entered his room.

Idan, watching Kraus from behind, thought about it. He had a great chance to get rid of Kraus without too much fuss and quickly leave. However, his curiosity about the New People Guild got the better of him, and Idan decided to take a chance.

Leaving Coco with Ned and asking the latter, through a contract, to discreetly erect a barrier and stay alert, Idan took off his winter clothes and sent them to his storage. Then he calmly walked over to Kraus and sat next to him in front of the bar.

Kraus was startled and slightly scared when a stranger suddenly appeared next to him and sat down next to him. Startled, he dropped the whiskey glass, but to his surprise, it did not break or spill. The glass fell short of the floor and hovered in the air.

Soon, the glass rose and fell in front of him with a light thud.

Kraus, seeing this, shuddered. Although the alcohol had slightly clouded his mind, he immediately realized that there was an unusual person in front of him. The strangerʼs long black hair and black eyes made him look mysterious. His sudden appearance and skill in using the Power of the Soul, with which he caught the fallen glass, only increased Krausʼ fear.

Kraus himself had not yet reached such a level of mastery of Soul Power and had not encountered such people. Therefore, his fear of this stranger only increased.

”Who are you?” Kraus finally managed to say, trying to overcome his fear and trembling.

”You should know who I am,” Idan said, looking straight into Krausʼ eyes, and that look made Kraus uneasy.

After hearing Idanʼs reply, Kraus couldnʼt think of anyone who even remotely resembled him. But then, eyes wide with disbelief, he asked:

”Is that you? The one the Leader was talking about?” asked Kraus with excitement in his voice.

Idan just smiled mysteriously, neither confirming nor denying it.

Kraus, looking at Idanʼs smile, became more and more convinced that this was exactly the same person in front of him, not suspecting that this was not exactly who he thought he was.

Idan, realizing that he could no longer just sit in silence, decided to take a chance.:

”You mean the one the Guild Leader New People was talking about? Maybe, maybe not.”

Krausʼs eyes widened, and he immediately believed that this was the right person. Only the Guild Leader knew that Kraus belonged to the New People Guild.

Kraus abruptly stood up, knelt down, lowered his head, and with great respect and fear in his voice said:

”Forgive this ignoramus for not recognizing you right away! Iʼm just a newly initiated new member. I greet the ”Lord” with this bow.”

”What the hell!” exclaimed Idan, looking in surprise at Kraus, who knelt in front of him.

But his surprise increased even more when he saw the Systemʼs sudden notification.
