CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1381: Chapter 1389: Slapping The Face Across Space

”Thanks!” Jane Sampson wasn’t polite with Kendal Smith.

Only a wealthy young master like Kendal Smith could afford to make the studio’s soundproofing nearly perfect. Once the doors and windows downstairs were closed, no matter how hysterically loud the music was played, its impact on the upstairs resting room was extremely minimal.

Jane had waited less than five minutes before James Carter also arrived. Thanks to last night’s practice, both were in a better shape than yesterday this morning. Busy time always seemed to fly by, and if it weren’t for Kendal Smith’s banging on the door complaining about his hunger and wanting lunch, Jane Sampson and James Carter wouldn’t even have realized it was already 12:30.

”Do you two really have to be this intense? I’ve been waiting upstairs for you to call me down for lunch, only to starve myself waiting.” Kendal Smith looked at the man and the woman in the room, finished his complaint, and then said, ”We’ll have pizza for lunch, I’ve ordered takeaway.”

”Great!” Jane Sampson’s eyes lit up, she hadn’t had pizza since the last time James Black bought it for her, back on the evening of the music festival.

Thinking of James Black, Jane Sampson took her mobile phone out of her purse.

A quick look.

Well, nine missed calls!

Three from Rock Bell, two from Peter Gingery, four from James Black.

”I’ll make a call first.” Jane thought about it and decided to call Rock Bell first; Rock Bell wouldn’t have called three times without good reason.

The phone rang twice before Rock Bell answered.

”Don’t tell me you’ve been practicing all morning without a break and only now are taking a break to check your phone?” Rock Bell held her forehead in disbelief.

”Yep, Mr. Carter and I were revising a song all morning and then practicing. Time just flew,” Jane Sampson chuckled, ”Sister Tin, you were looking for me for something, right?”

”Yes, I was,” Rock Bell said. ”The person in charge of the biggest internet live streaming platform visited our studio today specifically to talk to me. They’re inviting you to host a livestream on their platform. There are two types of remuneration: one is a fixed amount from their platform, 3.5 million, and the other is the income from tips during the livestream, with a 2-8 split between the platform and you, the platform taking two, you eight. The content of the livestream is up to you, and the duration must be no less than two hours.”

”Two hours won’t take up too much time,” Jane Sampson said. ”Sister Tin, what do you think?”

”I think you should take this job. You know about what happened last night on twitter, and a lot of haters have been dissing your culinary skills. I’ve got the content of this livestream figured out for you: you can stream yourself cooking spicy beef or small cookies. Use this direct approach to slap them in their faces, how satisfying!” Rock Bell laughed joyfully through the phone. ”Besides, having a livestream to increase fan interaction is pretty good, since you’re not the distant goddess type anyway. Of course, there’s another reason: Jillian Carter has also signed with this company to do livestreams, so we’ll schedule your livestream at the same time as Jillian Carter’s. The rest, I don’t need to spell out for you.”

”Then it’s settled!” Jane Sampson happily agreed, ”I’ll take the livestream! Why turn down making money, right? How could I argue with money?”

”Even if Jillian Carter’s livestreams are popular, they can’t overtake your popularity, Jane Sampson. I’m really looking forward to you crushing her in terms of livestream viewership,” said Rock Bell. ”If last night’s incident was indeed the doing of Jillian Carter, then her tactics are quite formidable, and we haven’t found any evidence to this point.”
