CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1362: Chapter 1370 He Doesn’t Have Time

”Okay, thank you, Uncle Carter.” Having said this, Jane Sampton knew Minister Carter was busy with work, so she took the initiative to say she wouldn’t disturb his work anymore.

After hanging up the phone, Jane Sampton held her mobile phone, her eyes slightly red.

Ever since she found out that she was not the biological child of the Sampton family, Jane Sampton would inevitably feel envious every time she saw affectionate families walking down the street with their children.

Even thinking, if only I were that child.

Just like at this moment, she couldn’t help but wish Uncle Carter was her daddy; Uncle Carter was such a nice person, so good to his daughter. If she were Uncle Carter’s daughter, she would surely never let such a father be disappointed or sad.

Unfortunately, those who have it don’t appreciate it.

And those who don’t, are always hopelessly wishing and longing from the side.

Bright Sampton arrived at Jane Sampton’s around four in the afternoon. Seeing that Jane had already applied her makeup, he particularly flattered her by complimenting her from head to toe.

”My sister is truly beautiful. When you make your entrance later, you might even make Julie Sampton’s nose go crooked with envy,” Bright Sampton joked, pushing Jane who was still in her pajamas. ”Hurry up and change your clothes, once you’re done, we’ll head straight to the hotel without going back home.”

So to avoid hearing those three at home say something unpleasant upon noticing James Black didn’t come.

”You go wait in the living room for a while,” Jane Sampton nodded and headed to the cloakroom.

Her fingertips lightly trailed over the new clothes hanging in the cloakroom, pausing for a few seconds on a red cloak coat, but in the end, her heart softened and she chose the blue wool coat behind it.

After changing her clothes, Jane Sampton drove with Bright Sampton to the hotel they had booked, and after parking the car, they went directly to the private room they had reserved.

Jane Sampton and Bright Sampton aimed to arrive neither early nor late, and by the time they got there, the private room was already quite occupied with many people. However, when the people saw both Jane Sampson and Bright Sampton entering together, they were surprised.

The Smith Family seemed to have not expected that the rising star Jane Sampton would be the daughter of their future in-laws.

”Grandpa, Grandma,” Jane Sampton and Bright Sampton, after entering, greeted the seniors first, then smiled politely at the people from the Smith Family seated opposite, called out a greeting, and without further conversation sat down beside their grandparents.

As Jane Sampton expected, Julie Sampton dressed in a bright red fur coat. Her face carried a bit of a smile—unwitting observers might think she merely epitomized the grace of a young lady from a reputable family, but those in the know could see through it at a glance, that Julie wasn’t actually in high spirits.

”Where is James Black?” Father Sampton asked.

”He’s not available; he won’t come,” Jane Sampton replied indifferently.

Father Sampton’s expression shifted, he opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but after a glance at the Smith Family and then at Old Sir Sampton, he managed to hold back his words. Still, he shot a glare at Jane Sampton.

”So it turns out that Jane Sampton is your daughter,” Madam Smith noted with delight upon seeing Jane Sampton. She liked the young girl who was beautiful, polite upon entry, and who went to sit next to her brother by her grandparents’ side; clearly, a filial girl.

”Yes, she’s Julie’s sister,” Father Sampton replied with an amiable chuckle, explaining.

”With such an outstanding sister, Julie, as the younger sister, naturally won’t be far behind,” Old Master Smith said with a smile, looking over at Old Sir Sampton. ”Old friend, you’re really fortunate to have these two granddaughters; unlike me, having only one grandson who’s such a handful, I’m quite envious of you.”
