CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1338: Chapter 1346: Two Years’ Time

He wisely skipped over this topic; he should have known early on that when it comes to verbal battles, he could never beat Mair Williams.

Back when she was with the guard team, he had already witnessed just how formidable her mouth could be.

Liam Woody’s culinary skills were not bad, and there were plenty of ingredients in Mair Williams’ refrigerator. In just that short amount of time just now, he had prepared several dishes.

After Mair Williams sat down, she exclaimed, ”This looks delicious; I didn’t expect you to know how to cook~”

”Kids from the countryside, whether boys or girls, who can’t cook?” Liam Woody handed a pair of chopsticks to Mair Williams.

”That’s great,” Mair Williams praised.

”There are some realistic issues that we need to face head-on,” Liam Woody said to Mair Williams, who seemed hesitant about which dish to try first, ”Our jobs and backgrounds are different, my salary is not high, and even though I don’t need to financially support my family now, I can’t offer you designer bags or clothes to please you during holidays or festivals.”

”The good news is, if I want those things, I can satisfy myself,” Mair Williams didn’t mind at all, ”I agree with one sentence on the internet: a woman works hard to make money also so that one day in the future, if I like someone, I won’t have to worry whether he can afford the things I like. I just need him to work hard at the life he loves and love me, and that’s enough.”

”I’ll spend my own money to buy all sorts of things; as long as you don’t despise me for spending too much and not being thrifty, that’s fine,” Mair Williams bit into a chicken wing, her mouth full of sauce, ”I’m busy with work, and so are you; we should understand and take care of each other.”

”Okay,” Liam Woody thought, perhaps Mair Williams was much more sensible than he had imagined.

”I don’t need you to get me any brands; I just need a little ceremony during Chinese New Year. If we can’t see each other, just give me a call, send me a red envelope—it doesn’t need to be big, even 13 or 14, I would be very happy—or order me a bunch of flowers from the takeaway service, or a lipstick from the brand I regularly use, or a perfume that you think would suit me. That would be enough.”

This was Mair Williams’ request to Liam Woody.

”Okay,” Liam Woody chuckled softly, ”You’re even more likable than I initially thought.”

”I’ll take that as a compliment,” Mair Williams laughed with shining eyes, but her laughter paused halfway when her gaze inadvertently caught sight of the caviar on the edge of the table, and her expression froze.

Then she looked up at Liam Woody across the table, ”I just suddenly remembered another important thing! We didn’t take precautions last night! Remind me later when we go out, we need to stop by the pharmacy to get some medicine; I’m afraid I might forget.”

”That kind of medicine is bad for the body,” Liam Woody frowned, ”Don’t take it. If in one month it turns out you are really pregnant, we’ll get married. If you’re worried that we haven’t spent enough time together and it might be difficult to adjust, then I assure you, I will definitely be accommodating and take care of you.”

”If you’re not pregnant, then we’ll date for two years, and if we’re still together after two years, then we’ll get married,” Liam Woody said, ”Two years is enough time for us to really understand each other.”

”You seem rash, yet thoughtfully considerate; and when you seem considerate, again you appear hasty,” Mair Williams thought for a moment before agreeing, ”Alright, I believe I’m not the type to be out of luck with an overnight pregnancy.”
