CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1317: Chapter 1325: My Brother is Super Fierce

Gwendolyn Young nodded, ”Your big brother is right, and you know him—once he gets an inspiration, day or night makes no difference to him.”

”Mum~”

Jillian Carter called out, wanting to say something more, but Gwendolyn Young waved her hand dismissively, ”Stop fussing. You’re grown up now; your brother has his own life too. Look, your brother has arrived; didn’t you say you hired a nanny with extraordinary culinary skills and invited us over to try the food? Then call Auntie and ask her to serve the meal.”

Gwendolyn Young stood up, glanced at James Carter, considering the weather in Capital Province was colder than in the south, and as a mother, she couldn’t help worrying about her son’s legs.

But seeing that James Carter seemed all right, and thinking Jillian was by his side, Gwendolyn eventually held back and didn’t ask in front of Jillian.

She feared that her daughter, being sensitive, would feel bad once she asked.

However, upon seeing Jillian fiddling with her mobile phone, Gwendolyn Young thought for a moment and still spoke up to persuade, ”Jillian, about your live streaming, it’s not just your dad who is angry; mom doesn’t quite agree either. So, I hope you, as an adult, think it through carefully and make a decision that’s good for you.”

Gwendolyn Young sighed at her daughter’s sullen pout, ”Also, remember this one thing your daddy said: you must never tell anyone that you are Minister Carter’s daughter. You understand what your dad means, right?”

Jillian slammed her mobile phone on the sofa, ”I know, I know!”

Gwendolyn Young shook her head at James Carter and sighed in silence. Her daughter was getting older and her personality more elusive and harder to discipline. Maybe this was the delayed rebellious phase for girls?

The three of them took seats at the dinner table, where the nanny quickly served the prepared dinner.

The table for three was filled with an array of dishes—counting them, there were fifteen including the soup.

But since sitting down, Jillian had hardly eaten a few bites. She was busy live streaming to her fans, chatting and laughing into her phone, ”Yep, I’m having dinner at home with mom and brother. I’ve hired a new nanny, she’s a fantastic cook, so I especially invited mom and brother to taste her cooking.”

Saying this, Jillian aimed to turn her phone towards James Carter and Gwendolyn Young.

James Carter slammed his chopsticks down on the table and said coldly, ”Jillian Carter, if you’re not going to eat, then leave the dinner table!”

Being shouted at by James Carter, Jillian looked at Gwendolyn Young with a bit of grievance and whispered, ”Mom~”

But she indeed didn’t dare to turn her phone towards James Carter and Gwendolyn Young; she still had a bit of fear for her brother James in her heart.

”Although your brother spoke harshly, he wasn’t wrong in disciplining you. When it’s time to eat, focus on the meal,” Gwendolyn Young didn’t coddle her daughter and took the opportunity to lecture.

Jillian then playfully stuck out her tongue at the phone, ”Yes, yes, my brother might seem particularly gentle outside, but he’s really strict, I’ve been scared of him since I was little. So I’m gonna end the live stream now, bye-bye! I need to be a good baby and eat properly.”

After making a goodbye gesture at her phone, Jillian ended the live stream and set her phone aside.

James Carter’s face never eased up, and after Jillian put down her phone, he said again, ”Jillian, we can’t control your live streaming, but I hope that when you do it, you won’t affect others. For example, just now, without asking me and mom, you were about to turn the camera toward us eating. That’s very rude.”
