CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1314: Chapter 1322 Breaking Promises

But James Black hadn’t expected things to develop in such a way the next day, with Jane Sampson directly telling him that maybe it would be better not to have children in the future.

James Black took a deep breath to steady his heart and gathered his thoughts before slowly reminding her, ”Jane Sampson, remember your promise, that once you become the Movie Queen, we would have a child.”

Jane Sampson was at a loss for words because of James Black’s remark.

Jane Sampson pouted her lips, ”I think I might become a person who goes back on their word.”

”I don’t agree,” James Black blurted out.

Seeing Jane Sampson raise her finger, James Black quickly added, ”Don’t hang up the video call!”

”Huff~ Ah, I kind of don’t want to deal with you right now,” Jane Sampson huffed in exasperation.

”If the child makes a fuss in the future, we can leave them at the Black Residence under the care of grandfather and auntie. When the child grows up a bit and stops fussing, we can bring them back to our side.” This was a compromise that James Black came up with.

”That’s not okay~ Choosing to have a baby means you must take full responsibility for caring, protecting, and being there with the baby as they grow, watching every little change as the baby gets older.” Even though James Black’s suggestion greatly tempted the current Jane Sampson, it was just a momentary temptation.

Jane Sampson thought that if she ever had a child, if she ever became a mother, she would be the gentlest mom in the world.

As someone who had been through it, she understood too well that a child’s growth needed the care and attention of their parents.

What she never had, she would make sure her child would have it wholeheartedly.

Of course, all these were premised on if she became a mother.

”James Black, don’t think for a second I don’t know that you added the program recording to my schedule at the last minute!” Jane Sampson snorted at James Black.

During dinner that night, the director was happy and chatted a lot with her, which made her aware that this director was an old acquaintance of both Alexander Forest and James Black. The director let slip because he was happy during the meal.

He mentioned that at first, he wanted to invite another actor as the guest, but then James Black called him, and he ended up inviting Jane Joy Studio.

The director happily suggested that next time he goes to Capital Province, he’ll ask James Black and Alexander Forest to get together for a meal and insisted that Jane Sampson join as well.

Right, the director also mentioned to Jane Sampson that James Black said she particularly liked little children, which is why she wanted to participate in the show.

Upon hearing that at the time, Jane Sampson could only chuckle cynically in her heart.

James Black, whose intentions had been exposed, didn’t even change his expression; he raised his eyebrows and hummed a response, ”I’ll pick you up from the airport when you return tomorrow evening.”

James Black thought that it seemed like he would need to try his best to coax his wife after she got back.

Jane Sampson was already drowsy, and hearing James Black say he’d come to pick her up, she happily hummed in agreement and soon fell asleep holding her mobile phone.

Taking care of children is genuinely exhausting, especially since Jane Sampson alone had to handle the cooking for today’s three meals: breakfast and lunch for six children and two adults, and dinner with six children and many, many adults.

This is the countryside, with primitive large stoves. Jane Sampson, the chef, had a tough time. She prepared all the ingredients and made enough for nearly half to be sampled by the personnel, leading to the happy and chatty post-meal talk with the director.

Jane Sampson had a hard day recording the show, while in Capital Province, William King wasn’t having a good time either.

Rock Bell’s investigation moved quickly, and within half a day, she uncovered the dealings mentioned in the email — before joining Jane Joy Studio, William King had indeed met privately with Jillian Carter several times and even commissioned someone to gather information on Jane Sampson.

Although there were no scandals about Jane Sampson uncovered, this act did indeed take place.

After acquiring information on Jane Sampson, William King had yet another meeting with Jillian Carter, confirmed by the CCTV in the clubhouse’s parking lot. When Jillian left, what she was holding in her hand was the file of Jane Sampson that William King had brought in.
